Giancarlo was so helpful, waiting for us when we were running by late after delayed flights.
3.0 / 10.0
Overpriced for the location. Not easy to find a proper parking space.

It was a very nice stay and the people in charge are very nice, the place is in very good shape, great value for the money
5.0 / 10.0
The room was very nice, modern, clean and well appointed. The breakfast was exceptional and we overheard Giancarlo telling another guest that his mother made some of the fine pastries spread out on the buffet. The location is excellent, being just a short walk to the Archeological Park. The bus to the historical island of Ortygia can be caught just around the corner. If you're coming by car, again, free street parking is also just around the corner. The receptionist recommended several good restaurants nearby and we can also recommend her endorsements. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend La Maison des Rêves to other travellers.

Nice family run b & b within waling distance of Greek theatre and museum. Staff helped with transit to old city centre.

Secure place on third floor with parking on same street. On a main thoroughfare but noise blocked out by secure windows; effective air conditioning.

OK B&B but we are not pleased with the cleaning (used femcare towel in garbage bin when we arrived). Good breakfast and friendly staff. Watch out for hotels in Sicily (including the one) claiming ”free parking/parking included”! In this case it meant that we had to park in the streets nearby....not really what I/we mean with free parking..

Maison des Reves is ideally located in Syracuse. The Archeological Museum is across the street. The Greek and Roman ruins are just a few blocks away at the end of the street that runs in front of the hotel. In the other direction, the street ends at a seaside monument. We used the 5€ red hop on/hop off bus almost every day during our 8 day stay. The bus stop is just a block away. Everything is super convenient. We got the big room, although we only booked the junior suite. It is a corner room, so the room has 2 balconies. That makes for a lovely cross breeze, but the AC unit in the room worked perfectly. Everything was spotlessly clean, modern, stylish, and in perfect working order. The owner, Giancarlo, went above all expectations of what we expected from a host. There is a too extensive breakfast spread in the morning, including the owner and his father making perfect coffee and cappuccino drinks. It is both hot and cold foods. Freshed squeezed juices are a real treat. There is an elevator, but the hotel is not wheelchair accessible. There are about half a dozen stairs from the street through the courtyard and onto the elevator landing.

Everything was good except the pillows provided for use by guests were too firm for us.

Discovered antz in our original room. Got relocated after a complaint, with complemantary drinks, which was nice service. Simple breakfast, but lovely staff. Far from the old town. Terrible public communication.

Only in Syracusa for one evening and morning, arriving by bus and dropped fairly nearby, we positioned to visit Ortigia (a 15-min walk south away for those willing enough) around sunset then the archeological park (5 mins to the west) next day, which worked out beautifully. We chose this B&B not only for these logistics but to avoid the fashionable prices on the peninsula. We were very well received and treated by the family, who were charming. The room was smart, bathroom also, balcony a welcome bonus. Breakfast space was small, but the offerings very satisfactory and well presented. As for the locale, ordinary city streets suit us as well in terms of atmosphere; the building itself nondescript but not unappealing, with its old-fashioned lift. All told, very happy to recommend.
