We stayed in the Ewing House at the Williamsburg Inn! It was an adorable 1-bedroom house, walking distance to all the major sites in Williamsburg, one block off DoG street. The staff also lit the fireplace in our room which was extra cozy, since it was chilly out!

Multiple colonial houses line the Duke of Gloucester street in Colonial Williamsburg…they are perfect for location…yet true to “colonial” in that design of house limits full size showers and smaller rooms overall…at least at the Brick House Tavern house which has 18 total rooms. Still a memorable trip!

Except for an issue with the heat, all was welcoming and comfortable. The food was great. The only issue that I consider major is the price difference between the Colonial Williamsburg Hotel and Hotel.com. I was required to pay an additional amount of $74.95 more than Hotels.com quoted. I feel this amount should be refunded to insure Hotels.com remains a go to travel site in the future.

Great get away, cottages very romantic.

This place was amazing! To be able to walk around the village at night you feel like you belong there. The building was an original in the room was where Margaret Thatcher had stayed at one time! I cant believe that it was so affordable. This was honestly the best experience I've had on a historically-themed trip!

A frequent visitor to the Brick House Tavern, a Colonial Houses property, I particulary enjoy the lovely decor ) even if a bit dated) reminding me of staying in my mother's homes on Beacon Hill in Boston and York Harbor, Maine. Conveniently located, walking anywhere in Colonial Williamsburg is a breeze. The staff here and at the Williamsburg Inn provide exemplary service. I'll definitely return!

Great location! Great room!

The colonial houses are lovely!! The check-in location (the Williamsburg Inn) is amazing. The houses are nice, but their best quality by far is the location and history. If I stayed in the same room somewhere else, I wouldn’t have been nearly as impressed. Continental breakfast would have been nice and the walls are very thin. I wasn’t too bothered by either because it was such a cool place to stay

First time staying in Colonial Williamsburg and I wasn’t disappointed.

My ONLY complaint was booking through a 3rd party, the resort fees I was charged at the property were more than the 3rd party quoted. Everything else was perfect and we enjoyed it so much.

we LOVED our stay. The main hotel was stunning and offered many amenities. Our room was spacious and had a beautiful view of the yards. We will be doing this again as it fulfilled every historic dream I had.

We loved the little colonial cottage 1772. What a great way to get an authentic stay, if that’s what you are looking for! The great thing about the old colonial cottages is they are right in the heart of colonial Williamsburg walkable to everything or to a bus stop. We loved learning the history behind every cottage.

Amazing value right in Colonial Willamsburg. The property has colonial era buildings scattered over blocks that are cozy and comfortable. A Wiliamsburg friend was amazed that this existed. I did not use the common facilities. I look forward to returning.

Wonderful to be able to enjoy resort type facilities right inside Colonial Williamsburg

My husband and I stayed here while moving our daughter into her college dorm at W&M. Keeping in mind that this is a 250ish year old house and is meant to feel authentic with a few modern upgrades (plumbing, AC, TV, etc) it was in excellent condition. The staff was very polite and helpful, We’ll definitely stay again when we come back to visit our daughter.

What a wonderful alternative to standard hotels!! Very clean, peaceful, quiet, and right in the heart of Historic Williamsburg!! Take a stroll back in time right outside your door!

We love that the Brick House is right on Duke of Gloucester Street. Parking is available, but you do have to walk around the building. The bathrooms are TINY, making it difficult to carry out toiletries, but very clean. Noise is a bit of an issue - people coming and going is pretty loud. Water running, toilets flushing, people walking around is heard. All that said, we have returned to the Brick House 3 times, and the location is worth the bothersome issues. Location, location, location!! All staff is very friendly and eager to help.

Double beds to small for adults! Shower was to small! Room was to small for price! Asked for bed to be made with new sheets and maid used same sheets!

We celebrated our 40th anniversary. The staff went above and beyond, leaving a personal card and cider in our room. Such an enjoyable weekend and a perfect place to stay.

We went to see Colonial Williamsburg and our colonial house was right in the middle. Close to everything. It is apart of the Williamsburg Inn as well, which gave us access to their amenities.

This is such a unique opportunity to stay in the heart of Historic Williamsburg Virginia. Yet you have modern conveniences. Staying here puts you right in perfect mood to immersion in the history of Williamsburg in the 16th and 17th century

The main thing here is that the accommodation is right in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg. It couldn't possibly be a better location. So the room is pretty expensive, but IMO absolutely worth it for the special experience it provides. Working with the Williamsburg Inn for the trip was also a nice experience. I booked a queen room colonial house, which ended up being a room in a larger colonial house with many rooms. However, it was completely silent. I will be back to stay in one of the colonial houses.

The location can’t be beat. The mattress/sheets/bathroom need to be updated. But it was so cute & conveniently located that we’d absolutely come back again & again.

My card was charged $188 for incidentals. I was not told this at check in! I won't get that refunded for 10 days! Ridiculous. I also was not told about any amenities like use of pools, etc at check in.

Overall a very immersive experience. The room was convenient to all things Colonial Williamsburg The room had some condition issues and the parking was inadequate, creating the need to park blocks away and walk in.

I loved that it was in close proximity of all of the activities. I liked that it was private and easily accessible. We had a sense that we were stepping back in time.

We loved staying in the colonial houses. The house we stayed in was built in 1730! If you’re looking for an authentic Williamsburg experience, you have to stay here!

Checked in and the AC didn’t work. 80 degrees in the room. Staff said 15-20 minutes and maintenance would be by. Decided to leave the property and staff processed refund. Still waiting on Expedia to refund me for the booking.

The area and the home were an excellent experience. My only complaint would be that the bed was really uncomfortable. New mattresses would have made our experience much more pleasant.

It was really cool staying in an authentic colonial house while visiting Colonial Williamsburg. It was a short block away from the main Williamsburg Inn. You get all of the amenities of the Williamsburg Inn with the colonial houses. Our house was across the street from the back of the King's Arm Tavern so we could walk right into the colonial town right from our front door. We will definitely go back.
