Staff very friendly & went out of their way to help. Room could do with updating but still clean.

Great value for money

Without sugar coating it, it was a filthy room, staff were great, food was nice, but the room looked nothing like the pictures online!
Mouldy bathroom, and i was above the woman's toilets so i constantly heard the hand dryer going up until midnight.

Lovely Hotel/Bar.. Area.. Clean room for our stop over for The British Superbike at Donington. Daniel was very helpful. The Breakfast Staff. And the Bar Staff again. Nothing was to much trouble.
Will be back next season.

Room was very small. Just wide enough for the double bed. Not enough room for a real door on the bathroom, just a sliding panel with no handle.
Pillow had a plastic liner of some sort, so i awoke at 4am with damp hair and didnt go back to sleep. At 6am wafts if smoke started to come in the room from people smoking outside.
Shower good. Breakfast good. Car parking spaces not wide enough for my car.

We only stayed one night but we were impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the excellent food and the evening entertainment. The bedrooms are looking a little tired but were overall clean and comfortable.

I cancelled the booking on Thursday. Apparently they still intend to charge me full price despite me giving nearly 3 days notice let alone 24 hours. I wouldn’t use them again ever. And I have used them many times before.

Very friendly staff. It is a pub so noisy 'till about 23pm. Car park safe and shops close by, 2min walk.

All round fine for one night.

The hotel has a very loud karaoke on the night we stayed. The room was shaking from the noise vibrations. Water was too hot and the room smelled of the bathroom throughout
1.5 / 5.0
Not a bad hotel, just a very tired room. The room was above the beer garden so if I opened the window smoke came in and pointless loud talking from an old fella.

No air con , couldn’t sit on the toilet because sink was in the way. Not clean , room was boiling

aphazard parking by others made parking difficult on arrival. Maybe car park lines need to be redone? Interesting that it’s called the Lawns when there wasn’t a lawn? Wasn’t clear where to go to book in, but was ushered inside by helpful person having a drink outside. Was shown quickly to my room by helpful member of staff. Room was clean and tidy and looked recently refurbished. Nice modern shower room. New hard flooring looked nice but needed attention to detail (gaps between planks). Carpet was worn and had threads pulled from it. Bed looked welcoming, but when I sat on it, it was rock hard and the edges of the mattress were higher than the centre. Maybe could benefit from a new mattress? Lots of pillow choice, however, one of the pillow cases I had a tear in it. Door to shower room kept half closing, so I walked into it a few times as I went into the room and turned round to come out again. The shower cubicle was spacious and clean. New wiring in the wardrobe on view. When I returned in the evening (Saturday night, 10.15) music was playing to guests outside the pub, which finished before midnight. My room was on the back of the building, but it could be heard. Continental breakfast was cereal, toast and jam/marmalade/marmite, a croissant and a pain au chocolate, orange or apple juice and a cup of tea or coffee. Breakfast took place in the bar, maybe because of renovations? Staff friendly and welcoming.

All in all a good stay, staff were the best thing. Very friendly and helpful.
Food in evening also good.
Room was comfortable on whole, but my only criticism would be the bathroom was dated and felt cramped due to old fashioned style bath/shower.
In any case, I would stay again if in area on work.

The room is above a pub so initial part of night was quite noisy
Also you can hear footsteps in corridor and adjoining room
The window in the room was also slightly open despite my best effort
Otherwise clean and good place to stay

Good accommodation for a trip to Donington Park. Nice small hotel with very friendly staff and great service. Only let down was quite limited parking.

Overall, good value for money. Small but comfortable, recently refurbished room. Staff very pleasant and helpful throughout the stay. Only small negative was the boisterous patrons who were still going strong (and loud) in the early hours, but no big deal.

Rooms look a little tired, quite small and compact, if I wasn't on my own and there were 2 of us it would have been a struggle - space wise

I needed a room overnight while attending an event nearby, and this hotel popped up.
The hotel consists of rooms above a pub. While not ultra-modern, the place was clean and welcoming. Check in was seamless, and I was walked to my room.
The room itself was spacious and clean. The bed was comfy, towels fluffy and the shower was warm.
I skipped breakfast, I had somewhere I needed to be, but it looked and smelled good, much better than other hotels I've stayed at lately.
I would absolutely recommend staying for a night or two, but not sure how I'd fare over a longer stay.

I traveled for work here during the pandemic so my stay was a little different to normal.
Hotels.com suggests that the dinning is open at the Lawns however after booking through Hotels.com I call a call from the owner to explain that the food service was not open, he gave me the option to cancel the booking but I personally was happy to go to the store and bakery across the road from the hotel. This is an issue with Hotels.com not the hotel it's self.
While there the room was in good condition and clean, tea and coffee were provided.
I ordered takeaway from a local place, the hotel owner was nice enough to bring it to my room as they didn't call me when outside.
On this note the hotel owner was very friendly, went out of his way to make the stay pleasant.
I would not hesitate to stay again in the future!

It was the 1st time that I stay here. A very nice stay, very comfortable room. Very nice breakfast. A good selection of beers at the bar and the food was nice too. Very friendly staff, I will probably stay here again .

When booking it says breakfast included. You then get told u can only have limited continental and all other hot food is extra. Hotel shower terrible, very poor heating and walls so thin you hear everyone walking in and door shutting. Could hear next door all night getting up for toilet so bad night sleep. I was over bar which was load noise as well. Would not recommend .

Great little place for an overnight stay to visit family. Stayed in the Wendy house and it had everything we needed. Bathroom was a bit small for my 6ft 3 in husband and 6ft 4 in son but hey! Comfy beds, clean room. Friendly staff. Great price .overall very good

The staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. They were also receptive to feedback about what could be better. Refurbishment that is in progress promises to improve the facilities and I hope it will extend to bathroom updating - mine was clean and functional but silicone seal is a bit stained, bath panel was cracked and loose and cistern leaked a bit. No WiFi in bedroom was an irritation. Good value and comfortable.

The pictures lie!
On arrival staff were welcoming and showed me to my room.
This is where it all fell apart, the room was freezing cold so I turned the radiator on some time later it had not heated up so I went down for some dinner. I mentioned it to the staff and was told that’s strange we will have a look. Back at the room there was a knock at the door and the staff member was holding an electric radiator.
Now the fun begins! I’ve only got 1 working plug on a double socket so do I use the heater charge my phone or work on my laptop.
I chose the heat option and just didn’t do any work.
The room was noisy with a drip/knocking sound on and off all night.
I woke up feeling terrible, this was made worse by the state of the bathroom it was nothing like what the show off in the pictures!
Spoke to the manger in the morning who really didn’t give me the impression she cared and all I got was sorry it’s only early October the heating isn’t turned on yet!!
It was 4 degrees when I got in my car outside!
I will not return and would advise all to think twice.
Food wasn’t great even with them raving about homemade!

Very friendly staff - very accommodating with every need. Meals enormous (for us at least) but fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection. Bedrooms needs a revamp but bed comfortable and all linen exceptionally cclean and very white. If I’m the area we will definitely stay again. New owners who were very friendly, courteous and kind.

The room was small and cosy and the decor was lovely and modern. The bed was really not comfy and the pillows were perfect for me as I struggle getting comfy with pillows other than my own so I slept really well. I will definitely stay here again!
