We had a wonderful time staying over New Years and Mother Earth provided all the energy and ambiance that we needed. The house is very comfortable and well equipped with everything you need to relax, drink and prepare food. The contrast of the Fissure 8 lava flow to the lush replanted tropical garden is amazing. The house is off grid but everything ran seamlessly. There are some limitations on where a person can wander on the newly created lava but I think those are probably wise safety issues.
We also enjoyed the artsy small town, local feel of Pāhoa and really recommend the Saturday market on the coast at Kalapana. The produce was excellent and very well priced.
Checkin was easy and well communicated.
Overall a truly unique and memorable experience.

What a special place. We had a lovely stay in the jungle right in the edge of the majestic fissure 8. It was truly magical, a very memorable and lovely experience for our family. I wish we had stayed longer.

We didn't realize just how special this place was until we stayed here and understood how devastated this area was. It was an honor to be able to be in a place that was spared from complete destruction. Our only regret is that we didn't just spend more time sitting at the house and enjoying everything.
