About this cottage rental
Quaint cozy waterfront cottage situated on N. Lake Leelanau with amazing sunset views. Centrally located to everything Leelanau has to offer. If you're looking for a new place to unwind and feel connected to nature and those you love, this is your place. Around the house there is plenty of space, grass, sun and shade to enjoy. Spend the mornings enjoying a cup of coffee from the main or upper deck or go for a paddle ride with one of the 2 kayaks or canoe the cottage has to offer. Later, everyone can gather around the firepit as burgers cook on the Weber grill.
The cottage dining area and living room faces the lake and opens onto a large deck for relaxing and dining on. The cottage has one main floor (queen) bedroom and two upstairs bedrooms with full size beds, perfect for a family or 3 couples. For warmer days, you can enjoy a nice breeze from across the lake with the many windows throughout the cottage or use a portable fan on the main level with the 2 upper bedrooms having ceiling fans. Our kitchen is equip with everything you need for an enjoyable vacation along with a dining table that seats 6 for dining and playing games.
Cable TV and internet is also provided for your entertainment pleasure. Along with a washer and dryer for washing anything you may need to. However, please note our cottage currently does not have AC/ Dishwasher.
Our new dock is available for tying your boat to and there is generous parking for your boat trailer as well. Two boat launches are only a few miles away. The lake is clear and shallow for small children and big kids too.
During prime summer months our cottage is available from Friday to Friday.
The cottage is located on a private well maintained dirt road, so the setting is quiet and peaceful. Come and enjoy the cottage and explore Leelanau and all it has to offer: the cozy cottage, the stunning lake views, vast fruit orchards, wineries, shopping and dining.a

Absolutely wonderful cottage situated beautifully between so many activities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay- the house itself is lovely, the view is beautiful, kids loved the kayaks and fishing, quick drive to Leland/Suttons Bay/Northport/Bike trails, and the owner was incredibly kind, prompt, and informative.

Our lil family of 5 (3 kids aged 9-11) had a wonderful stay at the Mellow Yellow cottage! Anything you could think of they had! This was a great location! We have friends that live on the lake and they were able to come dock their boat and stay for a s’more visit and the sunset views were spectacular. We will be back!

The cabin was cute, clean, and perfect for a trip up North. Great location on the lake and easy to get to town, as well as Traverse City. The kayaks, canoes, and the dock were perfect for a hot summer day. The hosts were also wonderful! Would stay here again!

Our family has been visiting Leland, Michigan (just down the road from Lake Leelanau and Suttons Bay) for over 60 years.
My daughters and I returned for the first time in 15 years with new spouses and a baby! The rental was an excellent home base to visit friends, the beach, and return to favorite local spots.
The house was modern, spotless, well equipped. Best of all, it was charming and comfortable. The sunsets were beautiful and the beds were super comfy.
The host could not have been more accessible and accommodating.
We are all hoping to make it an annual get together!

If you enjoy bonfires, sunsets, fishing, kayaking and boating this property is for you. A cozy 3 bedroom house 2 bathroom house right on Lake Leelanau. Our teens fished right off the dock. We easily rented a pontoon boat and parked at the house dock for easy access. Highly recommend for a up North Michigan Summer Stay!

The property interior was clean and well- maintained, well stocked, and comfortable! The property manager was very kind, and extremely flexible and communicative!!!
We were able to dock our boat at the house and enjoyed a few days of swimming, bonfires, boating, and playing in the nice backyard. We love Leland and Mellow Yellow offered great place to stay while enjoying our favorite area.

Annual girl’s trip to the Sutton’s Bay Area. Great home with lake front property. Quiet area with large deck and fire pit. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and hope to be back next year! The property manager was in touch for all our needs. The bottle of wine and fresh bread upon our arrival was a great touch! We highly recommend this home. It’s exactly what we had hoped for. The lake was amazing!

We were so. pleased with the house (Mello Yellow). It was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the lake view off the deck was great! It is located in a quiet neighborhood and very close to wineries and small towns that offered our group many opportunities hike, shop and enjoy tastings from the wineries.
The host was very attentive to any of our needs and communicated often before, during and and the end of our stay.
We would highly recommend this property if you like the outdoors, touring and coming back to a quiet lakefront property.

I had a great stay at the property and the host was fantastic to communicate with, responded quickly and was very pleasant. The check in process was simple and easy. The house is perfect to spend a week in, is perfect in size and has a great outdoor space. Everything that you can think of this properly has. I spent a lot of time outside. The lake property is perfect for kids to swim in, the lake is sandy and is not extremely deep. I rented a boat for the week and the dock was perfect for docking and using the boat. The properly is also close both to downtown Leland and Suttons Bay which both have great options for lunch and dinner. I would highly recommended this property and will visit again.

We loved our stay at Mellow Yellow! The cottage is quaint, comfortable, and the location on the east side of the lake just north of the Narrows cannot be beat. The sunsets are incredible from here! The cottage is not modern, by any means, but it’s perfect for a quiet family vacation and it’s stocked with everything you need, including cookware, beach towels, kayaks and a canoe, laundry…everything!! It’s on a quiet private road that is just minutes to the village of Leelanau and a quick drive to Leland and Glen Arbor.
Communication with Debbie, the property manager, was easy! We highly recommend a stay here and hope we can come back someday!

Cottage is located on the lake narrows so peaceful as the boats that do come through need to do so slowly. The cottage was clean and welcoming. The host was super responsive and made suggestions for area favorites. We ate on the deck or at numerous area restaurants. Lake Michigan sites are all nearby. We kayaked and canoed down the narrows for ice cream or coffee, read, did puzzles, went for mountain bike rides and saw the sights. Great vacation spot!!

We love the Leelanau Peninsula and wanted to share with our friends who visited from Ireland this summer. The cottage was cozy and comfortable. We all we able to relax and explore. We would definitely use Mellow Yellow again.

A clean comfy cottage with a beautiful view of lake Leelanau. Beautiful wooded setting quietly tucked away in the heart of the peninsula. Just a 2or3 minute drive from the village of Lake Leelanau and not far from leland and Suttons Bay. we enjoyed the comfortable furniture and beds. the.fireplace and streaming TV was also a pleasure when we returned from our day out and about. I look forward to coming back and enjoying the lake more when the weather is warmer. We will bring our teenager then for some sailing. Thanks to the pleasant host that made sure everything was perfect when we got there.

the calm and collected nature of "mellow yellow" is far and above any expectations i could have had about this home. on day two we forgot the tv was there. we fell into the books we had been meaning to read over the past couple years- we forgot about email. you stop caring about if your phone is charged. we read by the fire listening to the lake. or the coyotes or loons and not the news. all the services or amenity you want are provided and completely accessible- but it does truly live up to name and description
special shoutouts- we booked it early AM on morning of our check in when needing to extend our stay in the area. without asking we had our shoes off in a couple hours. hosts went above and beyond for everything.

This is a wonderful spot in the world! Perfect spot for a group of friends traveling to the Leelanau Peninsula and Leland! We did a kayak trip and visited some wineries! It was super cozy and comfortable! Deb was super great to work with! Great communication and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect!

Absolutely loved our stay here. We were hesitant at first since the property was a new listing with no reviews, but we are so glad we decided to stay here.
Debbie was awesome. She was very responsive and accommodating, typically responding in just a few minutes to any of our questions. She worked very hard to make our stay here perfect and was very kind.
The property itself was beautiful, both inside and out. It has a fantastic view of the lake and plenty of outdoor seating. The inside of the property felt homey and we loved the furniture/decorations. The beds were also very comfortable. Everything was very well taken care of and exceptionally clean.
The property was also very well stocked. Compared to many other VRBOs I’ve stayed in, this property is above and beyond. From toiletries to pots and pans this VRBO had everything. There were also many toys we enjoyed including a bike, kayaks, and a canoe. This place is a gem, and my family and I had a ton of fun and will be back.
