A lovely place in much need of love, smelly drains , heating not working properly, a array of not loved areas and parts af furniture, food very good but not everything coming out at the same time.
Shower in our room all over the place the tap in the sink back to front and incredibly hot water.
I hope these points are taken as constructive comment because as I said it’s a beautiful site
Thanks

A nice place.

Food was excellent. Courtyard room was nice but not adequate for two people. Only one chair, very dim lighting, no shelf space esp in cramped wet room. Biggest problem was poor communication - internet a big stumbling block. Dining area chairs very uncomfortable and in breakfast area my partners chair had a huge nail sticking out of the seat- health and safety issue. Staff were responsive where they could help.

Very homely and lively pub, super friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. We felt very welcome and that extended to our dog too! A gem of a find.
Parking was a bit of an issue though but it was Sunday lunchtime when we arrived and I suppose that is to be expected.

Delightful! We stayed in the King John room and it was very spacious. Dinner served in our room was very tasty. Breakfast was delicious - and huge. It's a lovely little place. Bravo. King John Inn.

King John Inn is a warm and friendly place where the King room was boutique hotel standard including traditional freestanding bath. Located in a gorgeous little village. Food - I had dinner and breakfast - both were fabulous. Good wine list too. Everyone working here are committed to making sure you have a good experience - it's a gem. Will definitely stay here again. Countryside views around this location are amazing.

I had such a great stay here whilst attending a wedding at a near by venue. The room was clean and had everything you need. The staff are amazing and very accommodating. I had breakfast and dinner and must say the food was excellent! The wine selection is great and the steak I had was perfect. I would highly recommend anyone stay here.

Lovely country pub for an overnight stay.

Did not like anything other than the countryside. Expensive rooms sold as luxury. Dreadfully run down place with very limited staff who were struggling to cope with no backing from head office.

Generally a nice place to stay. the road adjacent can sound like a race track despite rural setting. Food is good standard albeit a touch expensive

Was a last minute booking, wasn't sure about this place, located on a countryside I arrived late in the evening with my family. Checking in was very easy, didnt fail to please, A lovely cottage, nice and clean with friendly staff.

Really lovely b&b. Beautiful location. The room was great - clean & comfortable. We ate in the pub both evenings and really enjoyed the food. There was plenty of choice including veggie and a varied wine list. We tried the local guest ales, much needed after our marathon! The breakfast was also great and we couldn’t fault the service at all. The only things we were disappointed with were that the coffee machine in our room didn’t work. The room was really hot and parking on our first evening was hectic. And the shower wasn’t very hot. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful one night stay - very welcoming, great room, cosy bar and restaurant where we enjoyed relaxed dinner - all the better that we were able to have our dog with us. Superb steak and pheasant (so good we didn't give any to our dog - he wasn't so happy!) and really great Uruguayan red wine. All topped off with full English breakfast next morning consisting of quality local bacon, eggs - and sausages that this time we did share with our dog as we felt guilty about leaving him out at dinner! Will definitely stay again.

Nice hotel in a charming village. The staff were excellent. Our room was small but comfortable. The shower room/toilet was clean and modern. However, the handbasin was very small and the shower had no space at all to stand soap/shower gel and the water flow was slow to drain away. The food was very good. I will say (and this is a personal preference) that it is a shame that the provision of vegetables was almost non-existent with only chips and broccoli being offered as sides at a price. I am old fashioned enough to expect my main meal to be priced so that it includes a choice of fresh vegetables and a choice of potatoes. The mains were nicely presented, well cooked (I was a chef) but for the prices charged, slightly on the small side if hungry. The breakfasts are very good with a lot of choices - nice to see kippers on the breakfast menu and the locally sourced speciality yoghurts were lovely. A considerate notice asking guests downstairs in the bar areas to keep noise to an acceptable level after 11 p.m. is good. All in all very nice.
