We take pride in providing our guests with a clean and comfortable home away from home, and we look forward to hosting you during your stay in Olympia, WA!
Guest Access:
We would like our guests to be aware that the house behind their accommodation is occupied by their hosts part-time and is seasonally offered as another short-term rental. Although the units are attached, rest assured that your space is 100% private with no shared areas. The entire fenced front and side yards are exclusively yours to enjoy during your stay! Our goal is to make your visit as comfortable and relaxing as possible while respecting your privacy.
The Neighborhood:
Tucked away in the Indian Creek Neighborhood, our house offers the best of both worlds: the convenience of being minutes from downtown Olympia and the tranquility of feeling like you're on the town's edge. Situated on a quiet, dead-end road with minimal traffic, our location promises serene walks and peaceful moments. Just steps away, you'll find multiple entrances to the Woodland Creek Trail—a lush, picturesque path that meanders alongside Indian Creek, inviting you to explore the natural beauty of the area.
Getting Around:
While The Trail House is conveniently located minutes from downtown Olympia, guests should note that essentials like groceries and dining options require a short drive, given the house is just a tad beyond comfortable walking distance. However, for those who love to bike or enjoy a leisurely stroll, the Woodland Creek Trail offers a scenic route connecting to several main roads, making many attractions and necessities accessible on foot or by bicycle. This unique blend of seclusion and accessibility ensures that whether you're venturing out for supplies or exploring the area's natural beauty, you're perfectly positioned to enjoy the best of both worlds.
Other Things to Note:
We are delighted to welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs at our dog-friendly home. Please note that no other animals are allowed without specific host approval. Dogs should not be left alone at any time unless they are crate trained and can remain inside the crate without causing noise disturbances. We do charge a small pet fee to cover the cost of additional cleaning; however, this fee is not meant to cover any damage caused by guests' dogs. In the event of any damage, a separate charge will be applied to cover the cost of repairing or replacing the affected items.
Speaking of pets, we have three lovable furry friends of our own. Amber Rose is an incredibly affectionate chocolate lab, and you might see us strolling by during our evening walks. Khaleesi (also known as Chica) and Reny are our adorable long-haired teacup chihuahuas. You probably won't see them, as they're not fans of going on walks. Rest assured, our pets are well-behaved and won't interfere with your stay, but do feel free to give Amber Rose a friendly pat if you happen to cross paths!
Interaction with Guests:
At our property, we strive to achieve the perfect balance between providing our guests with the privacy they desire while remaining accessible for any questions or needs that may arise. We respect your space and ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. However, if you have any inquiries, require assistance, or simply want some local tips and recommendations, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're always more than happy to help make your stay a memorable and enjoyable experience.

There was a small issue with checking in. But the host went above and beyond to help make our stay an excellent experience.
The house was very comfortable and clean. It was just 3 of us that stayed there but a larger group would also be comfortable.
I couldnt find the towels (my fault didnt look in the closet.) But they brought more over right away and helped with any other concerns we hand and checked to make sure we happy and to see if everything else was good.
It was my first booking in VRBO and I am impressed so far.
Thanks again Jennifer and Jordan!

The house was perfect with three bedrooms to accommodate us. It was so sweet that the host had extra toothpaste or toothbrush if you needed it. Olympia is beautiful and there’s a terrific trail right nearby the house that’s paved. Everything was close by. We enjoyed our stay.

Once we arrived, we did not want to leave. It was perfectly comfy. Of course we left quite a bit, mind you. What a quiet place we had to come home to.

Home renovations have made this house a gem in the Olympia area. The house was clean and well decorated. We felt welcomed by our hosts. Property is shared with the owners, but we did not feel privacy was lacking. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We stayed here for 8 days in June. The property is beautifully kept and the owners have thought of so many things (like a cooler backpack for picnics and filtered water). The parking and access was great. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped. The owner answered our questions promptly.
The only drawbacks, I hesitate to mention as they may well be no problem at all for most, but we had two young grandchildren visit quite often and I was always nervous of the steep stairs and the fact that the only places to sit and eat were on high stools. As I say, not a problem for most people but feel I should mention for families. On the other hand, there were games available both inside and outside which we used and were fun to have.
I would stay here again.

Loved it!

Beautiful house! Everything is well identified, which made cooking easy. Quiet neighborhood, plenty of parking, and lovely fenced yard. While I don’t have young children I couldn’t help but to notice just how comfortable a child would be. Highly recommend

The Trail House was a great base for our three day stay in Olympia. The house is very well organized with lots of thoughtful touches. Our dog was very happy with the yard, access to walking trails, and dog paraphernalia supplied by the house. We were very happy with the kitchen, especially the labeling and supplies. Overall a thoughtful, attractive, clean, and quiet place to stay!

My family of 6 stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The hosts have everything needed there to feel fully accommodated and welcomed. Communication was quick and easy with the host and instructions for check in and check out were very clear and concise. Home was incredibly clean and we all fit very well! Will definitely stay here again should we have another opportunity to do so!

So the hosts either live in a back part of the house that is locked off or they live in the house behind it. But they are definitely there and watching what you are doing so it’s not private. I had a couple friends stop by to say hi for like half an hour and I know they got weird looks going into the house and I was contacted with them wanting to know why there were so many vehicles in the driveway (both of these things are how I know they are on the property). And to clarify there is nothing wrong with that I just wouldn’t have booked had I known, it just feels a lot less relaxing. And I don’t think it was clarified in the ad that they would be there observing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay visiting family! It felt just like home. The attention to detail in regards to spare necessities, children and dogs was amazing! We would find a new drawer or space to check out and were impressed every time. The kitchen was equipped with plastic dishes for kids and infant silverware. The game shelves even had a few board books for the littles. It was easy to keep our kids and dog safe. There were extras everywhere like toothbrushes, spare throw blankets for lounging, and even full bottles of Kirkland shampoo, conditioner and body soap in the shower. We also enjoyed the walking path nearby and walked our dog there several times. Jennifer and Jordan had great communication and were excellent hosts willing to attend to every need. We look forward to being able to stay again someday.

My family enjoyed our stay at Trail House. Our host provided us warm cookies upon our arrival. So thoughtful! They were accommodating to our needs and provided items to keep our special needs child safe. The house was clean and had all the things we needed to feel at home. The communication top notch. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

We were in Olympia visiting family for a birthday party and baby shower. This was perfect for us.
It is just what we’re looking for in a short term rental: convenient location, local flavor, personal touches, responsive hosts, clean, everything you could need and then some.
We were grateful to have such a great place to stay.
They even ordered up some springtime sunshine, and we enjoyed their outdoor seating.

We were able to join with extended family to have a great afternoon/evening of eating and visiting. The combination kitchen-living room area was great, with good traffic flow. Plus there were lots of little notes to direct everyone to use the many tools and resources.
The kitchen is good sized and well provisioned with utensils, trash, recycling, cookware, and ambience. And there is a super handy water closet for the group.
The lighting and generous windows from this room kept the feeling light and airy with a great sense of the outside greenery.
We had a lovely time.

This is one of those VRBO houses that should be an example for how to do it. Every drawer was labeled, everything was considered. Also extremely child and dog friendly with a pack-and-play, kids dishes, dog supplies, and a fully fenced yard. If you have both a child and a dog as we do then this is your house :-)

The Trail House was perfect for our family reunion and stay. Our adult child just relocated to Olympia and this will be our home there when our family visits her. Located in a quiet neighborhood near the Woodland Trail, the home has everything you need from clean and comfortable sheets and towels to main staples (laundry detergent, coffee, oils and spices). Everything you need is within a 7 to 10 minute drive (farmers market, downtown Olympia, Trader Joe’s ) and within an hour or so from Olympic National Park (Staircase Trailhead) and 15 minutes from the trails at Evergreen State University.
Jen and Jordan live at the rear of the property and could not have been more friendly, responsive and welcoming while still giving us privacy and space.
We are looking forward to returning to the Trail House.

House was absolutely perfect. Clean and ready for everything I had forgotten a few things but opened a drawer and found that they offered them for free so I didn’t have to into town and buy them. We were able to have family and friends over and not one person didn’t compliment the home. So much love for our family was shared this weekend will definitely be booking again.

Very clean and wonderfully decorated. The hosts, Jordan & Jennifer, thought of everything you would need so you feel just at home. Short drive to many attractions, in fact, we loved Anthony's Homeport Olympia restaurant, which is just 10 min drive away. 5-STARS all around!

We loved our stay here! The property is just as listed and the owners are incredibly responsive. The best part of the property though is the owners’ attention to detail. There is always something we end up needing to run out and purchase when our family stays somewhere, but everything was thoughtfully provided here- plenty of towels and supplies, everything well labeled, etc. This property and the owners are fantastic!

This really spacious home had ample space for us to stretch out after a long day of traveling around Olympia. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, books on the shelf were thoughtfully chosen, AND the cookies that owners set out for us were exceptional, we’d definitely stay again.

My husband and I did a long-term 4 month stay here with our dog, Arthur. The place was absolutely perfect for our family and Jordan and Jennifer are the best hosts. The house is conveniently located close to downtown but also close to a lot of parks for nice walks with the dogs. We will definitely stay here whenever we visit Olympia.

The owners have created a very comfortable, easy to use environment. The drawers and cabinets in the kitchen are all labelled which is a nice touch. We had a minor issue with the door lock which the owner fixed quickly.
We especially appreciated the very fresh cookies left for us.
Will visit again
