Nice and cozy. Alpacs on property you can pet. Host is super helpful.

The room is in a beautiful garden, facing a vast pasture, with some cute alpacas.

We spent just one night on this property and loved it! It was calm, serene, clean and had all the basic amenities. The animals on the property are adorable, especially the Alpacas! The host is extremely courteous and helpful. He helped us store our bags on the property before and after check in, so we are very grateful for that. The only inconvenience was that that the room was extremely cold (we visited in July, which is winter in New Zealand). The host advised us to put the AC on heating mode and while we did that on the highest temperature possible, the room did not heat up much. So I am guessing the insulation is not great. However, this will not be an issue over the summer months, which is NZ's main tourist season. Overall, I highly recommend the property and would love to go back again!

There was animals there that were rather unique and amazing

This is a fabulous B&B. They catered for our late arrival. The brekky was a welcome addition and the animals were a wonderful treat. The owner was friendly and helpful

For two guests there was limited cutlery only one coffee cup for two people. Shower was not clean there was pubic hair under the shampoo bottles no extra blankets as it was quite cold.

Easy access from Rt 1s. But open and closing the gate was a job. We had a pleasant stay overall. But it was really hot for few hours when we checked in suggested time, due to direct sun and AC was off. Fridge had 4 slices of bread in a box with 2 small butter packets along with small amounts loose cereals and milk in containers with lids. Usually we see them in store packed and sealed with regular branding. It was nice to see a cow, sheep and Alpacas around. Good view in the back.

Alpacas around the house, but garden a bit dirty by that, breakfast you can make yourself, was sober, entry from highway was difficult and also leave again.

I was absolutely charmed by the alpacas on our patio when we woke up in the morning. Very pastural setting with sheep in the fields lining the driveway and cattle and ducks in the fields further out. The room was large and already stocked with the breakfast food for us. The only improvement I can suggest is better signage, as the road is a busy one and we missed the turn into the driveway. This B&B ranked very high in the many places we stayed in New Zealand. So very lovely!

Need to clean up the spiders in all the window seals. It was old.

Very different. Lig cabin situated in a paddock witj alpacas and turkeys.
Insect netting on doors and winfowsvwould be a boon as there were a lot of flies.
Lighting vould be better but very pleasant stay

Pleasant experience in a very peaceful environment. Close to the town of Cambridge and Hobbiton, which was the goal.

We stayed in Honeymoon Studio Suite with a front porch. The suite is spacious and decorated beautifully. We enjoyed mountain view and watching moon at night. It was so fun to have breakfast with the alpacas and other animals around the house. The host was very kind and very friendly. We had a very pleasant stay.

Was okay place to stay. Shared bathroom though

Very cute place! It was so fun to have breakfast with the alpacas and other animals just outside the window. The host was very kind and accommodating. He had a variety of yogurt, bread and jam and other simple breakfast foods. We stayed the main house. The only downside was the shared bathroom. Depending on how many guests are at the house there can be lengthy waits for the bathroom.

What I liked about the property was its uniqueness. It was hard to see the sign, you did have to open and close a gate to get in and out, and there were animals in the yard, but that was part of its charm. The room was clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was tasty and got me through the morning and the cookies were delicious.

Peaceful and quiet. A very enjoyable experience

Very nice place to pull off and sleep. No services besides breakfast but easy off main road for a farm seed stay experience out in rural country.

I loved waking up to see the alpacas outside the window.
The place itself was clean and spatious and seems like a great place to get away for a vacation.
My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer!

It was a relaxing place to stay. The view from the room across the farm land was lovely and it was enjoyable to see the alpacas, sheep and one cow near by.

It was really refreshing staying out in the country.

The facility is simple but pleasant. We enjoyed our stay at the Homestead. The alpacas come right up to you and like to be fed avocado leaves. The hosts are very pleasant and helpful. Our only semi-issue are the mattresses are very firm.
Also photos are accurate, great view from room, light breakfast items in room (granola, cereal, milk, toast).

We unfortunately parked our car under a tree, beside a hedge and all the flowers & seeds fell on it. Apart from that - all good.

Didnt like washing food utensils in the bathroom. Otherwise very good value. Thanks. Enjoyed the nosy Alpacas

The cottage is sited next to a farmhouse, off a very busy main road and through a shut farm gate (not nice in the wet). Watch out for the BnB sign as it is easy to miss. The cottage is spacious with a comfortable bed but it feels a bit bare, without a table to eat off and looking out to a paddock and picnic table. The heat pump was welcome as the weather wasn't good but it only put out a low level of heat, despite raising the thermostat to its maximum. It must have been the same for earlier guests as it was set at its maximum when we arrived. Water was only available in the bathroom, from a tap that was set too low to fill the jug easily and we weren't able to wash the dishes easily either. The shower was good and very welcome after our bike ride.
We were met with a small flock of turkeys on the verandah and the next morning these had been replaced by two llamas! Photographs were quickly sent round our family and kids would love it.
The BnB is out in the country but just 5 minutes drive away from Cambridge and less than half an hour to the Hobbiton site.
We went on the Riverside Adventures e-bike ride and had a great afternoon beside the Waikato River.

This was a nice place to stay. My room in an out building was very nice.

The property was convenient for our stay in Cambridge. Check in was easy. Breakfast was handy and fit our needs.

the lamas were very cute

It was not so clean and you haven’t a lot of choise whith the breakfast.
Further the B&B is on a bussy road, this makes it quite dangerous to get off the road and on it

Loved seeing the alpaca's outside our bedroom window!

A small place out in the country with only a few quests so nice and quiet.

It was nice to get away and be in a nice quiet place that you can still easily go exploring. Random location off the express way but also very convenient as it’s close enough to drive to cities and the surrounding small towns 😀

Relevant to our over night stay...clean room and bed

Nice setting but very run down property Was very surprised to learn upon arrival we had to share a bathroom with 2 other bedrooms as it was noted on our booking that our room had a shower but in fact it did not

Comfortable bed and breakfast. A good place to stay about a half hour from the Hobbiton movie set and 5 min from stores/restaurants in Cambridge.

We wanted to check out Tauranga, which is an hour away from this hotel.
Hotel is very difficult to find as it is on a main road with little signage in where to turn in, so it takes a bit of trial and error, but once you find it, you’re treated to sheep, alpacas and a cow!
The host is friendly, but there is only one shared bathroom, so the queue for a morning shower can be a bit tough.
Overall, good value for money though and a comfortable stay.

This is my very first online review. Oh I wish it was a happy one, but sadly no. Worst place we've have ever stayed at. It was so terrible we went back after dropping off our luggage earlier in the day, reclaimed our luggage, and left without even staying overnight. We ended up staying at another hotel that night, paying for both places.
It is situated off a busy highway, dangerous to get in and out of. There are farm animals on the property, so there are two separate gates you have to manually open and close to get in. Instead of staying in the separate little building shown in the promo pictures, the owner put us in a tiny old bedroom in his house. We had to take off our shoes going into the house, because the front yard is full of alpacas which pee'd and poo'd all over the front lawn. Truly disgusting.
Next, entering the house there was a circling mass of about 20 black flies in the main hallway. The little bedroom was nothing like promo material, and had no air conditioning. There was a shared bathroom down the hall, which was dirty, which my wife refused to use.
When we came back for our luggage, the owner was not around. We just reclaimed our luggage and left. I'll eat the cost of two hotels for the night. The nightmare of staying there pales in comparison to the wrath of my wife for the next 20 years if I had made her stay there.

Pouring rain, middle of the night, and jetlagged from a long flight, we were new to the country and thought it would save time the next day by driving closer to our destination for our stay. A flight delay changed these plans, but thankfully the owner of the Homestead B&B was understanding and helpful from start to finish. Homestead is located among farms and a major road; if you arrive in daylight you should have no issues finding the place, but be aware GPS directions are off.
The Homestead is an old family farm house divided into separate rooms. They all look and feel different. You will not have a private bathroom, but during our stay we never saw the other guests. Our room was a big bed, thick blankets, and was clean. The restroom was clean, with a nice large shower and clean towels. The common areas were even more comfortable with a big table and lots of built-in window seats overlooking the mountains and farms around.
The owner keeps alpacas, chickens, and other animals on the grounds (be sure to watch where you step). They're friendly and picturesque. Breakfast is provided in the form of cereal, toast, jams, drinks, and other simple foods. Above all else, this place is convenient for trips to Hobbiton, Rotorua, and other tourist sites in the area.
Thanks again for meeting us outside in the middle of the night! We enjoyed our stay!
