A really first class enjoyable stay. Lovely hotel, excellent food and brilliant service. Had a great time in a great hotel situated in a great location. Will definitely stay again in the not too distant future.

Gorgeous hotel in a stunning village. View from the bedroom was just perfect. Unusually decorated, comfortable, good water pressure in shower. Overall highly recommended place to stay.

The property has recently been sold and refurbished with frightful decor. The beautiful neutral decor room we booked with enormous bathroom now resembled a ‘brothel’ and the bathroom had been reduced to make an odd kitchenette. The heating didn’t work either so we had to change rooms.

Great place to stay again. Wonderful friendly and helpful staff.

Have just come back from a very special weekend at the Burgoyne. It is a really friendly hotel with lovely staff, excellent food and a superb building in a special location. It was highly recommended by a friend and lived up to everything he said it would be. The surrpounding countryside boasts many fantastic walks. Highly recommended.

Hotel full of character set at the top of the Green in Reeth. We had the Thwaite room with private bathroom across the corridor. Very comfortable room with ample tea/ coffee making facilities. Breakfast prepared to order with fruit/ yoghurt/ cereal as a help yourself. Would suggest a variety of breads instead of plain white only ( 5 star hotel ? ). Very nice staff throughout.. Free parking to the rear and large gardens front/ rear with ample seating.. B/ B here for 2 no more expensive than a house offering the same but without the country house feel to it.

A stunning property to stay in over the Ard Rock weekend. Breakfast was spot on, the staff were excellent (a shout out has to go to the lady serving guests on the Saturday morning of Ard Rock, she was so friendly!) and the room was grand.
My only criticism would be of the Wi-Fi. Reeth and the surrounding area isn’t blessed with great 4G/5G reception, but the Wi-Fi in the hotel was only measuring low 20s Mbps as a download speed and around the 3 Mbps as an upload speed, not great.

We found the hotel easily. The warm welcome and homely feel was great. The hilltop view from the clean spacious comfortable room was of the village green and beyond. We enjoyed an evening meal of an excellent standard. Breakfast was perfect too. Would happily recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel

Great view from window of room. Nice breakfast. Good location. Nice places to sit both in and outside the hotel

From checking in with Seth to checking out with Christine our stay at The Burgoyne was 5 star. We stayed in the ‘Muker’ suite that was on the top floor with fantastic views of the green and surrounding hills. The Suite was beautifully decorated with lovely finishing touches. The bathroom immaculately clean and spacious with nice ‘Noble and Isle’ products at our disposal.
We had late afternoon drinks in the sunshine at the front of the hotel overlooking the green before sitting down to an exquisite evening meal. Rounding off our first night with a nightcap in the lounge. Catherine our waitress couldn’t do enough for us.
The breakfast that was included in our package was a nice start to the day of hiking, filling up on poached eggs and ham.
We decided to opt for a late Sunday lunch rather than an evening meal as we had heard that it would be good and so glad we did as it was one of the best we’d ever had.
The staff here go above and beyond to make sure your stay is exactly as it should be.
I would most definitely stay here again and would recommend to anybody.

Very good hotel.
One problem in the room was that the furniture near the bed left very little room to move around.

The rooms were lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. My only reservation was the "external" bathroom facility. As elderly people having to cross the corridor in the middle of the night was a bit off-putting! But overall the hotel was excellent.

Lovely building but restaurant disappointing.

No teaspoons or a tray in the room which meant initially the kettle had to be placed on a fabric window seat. Staff member put this right when asked. Quite a lot of stairs to climb to our room. Lounge very pleasant and good to see a history of the house in there. Nice garden to front and back.

The setting and building was lovely. The lounge was stately and well maintained and our room was thoughtfully decorated and clean.
The food on the first night was excellent and the waiter was friendly and considerate.
On the second night only the manager was available. I was given no choice of tonic water and given the most expensive. Also my partners lamb was over done and I was given, by arrangement which was kind, a salmon filet with a combination of ingredients which didn’t go together and consequently seemed thrown together thoughtlessly.
We were also asked if we would have breakfast later the next day. Rather than just asked what our plans were and worked around them. Consequently when I said no, we needed the earlier time, we felt rather awkward.
Also the website states there is a lot of information for walkers to plan routes from etc. There were only a few tatty old maps.

The toilet would not flush, I told two members of staff, neither of which did anything about it. We were told someone would come and fix it, but no one did. We were also told they were already aware the toilet was broken as the last people to stay in the room had aldo reported it, it should have been looked at immediately. The television only had a couple of channels on which was also disappointing. The menu in the restaurant was totally different to the one shown online so we had to find an alternative place to eat a meal, we went to the kings arms who were very welcoming and the food was beautiful. We were disappointed to say the least, we paid 5 star prices and the hotel was not up to standard. The bath robes we like old tea towels as well. We definitely won't be coming back my partner felt it was like staying in faulty towers

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located in a lovely position with good views of the village and hills beyond. Reeth, the village contains a really good bakery, a cafe and little local museum which we enjoyed visiting. Our room was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable, as well as being immaculately clean. Food in the restaurant was good. Staff friendly and helpful and service efficient. All in all a hotel worth returning to for a happy break.

An amazing short get away in an incredible location in the Dales. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was immaculate and the food was all locally sourced, lovingly prepared and to a very high standard. We had our dog with us and he was made to feel like one of the guests getting his own freshly made pooch breakfast and dinner! Couldn’t have asked for a better way to end our UK getaway and we’ll definitely be returning again for a longer stay!

The communal areas of the hotel are nice and the room we had was really nice. The room was large with a large bathroom, both of which look to have been recently renovated. The room also had a door directly out to the lawn, which added to the room in these strange times.
We didn’t eat in the restaurant so we can’t really comment on that. The menu looked ok and is definitely targeted at the fine dining end of the restaurant range.
Overall we had a nice stay and it is a nice hotel, but this was most expensive stay on our trip and I’m not 100% sure it was value for money.

Room very small, especially considering the price. View of some sort of tank (septic ?) from the window less than inspiring.
Food was good but dinner very expensive. Staff pleasant but service very slow.
Overall pleasant, but not value for money.

Lovely property, in a lovely village with stunning views.
Staff were always very helpful, and pleasant.
Beautiful evening meals if you book in advance but, a bit on the pricey side.

A lovely country house hotel elegantly decorated and without all the usual 'tat' found in every corner. Restrained and civilised with an excellent, if pricey, restaurant offering a great dining experience. Having stayed two nights to end a week long Scotland NC500 road trip it was a welcome and calming break with very hard working and friendly staff.
