Fantastic small hotel, great location. Walkable to everything in Valletta. Staff is friendly & helpful. Mark, the owner is outgoing, enthusiastic about Malta & as helpful as he could be. His recommendation for a driver on Gozo was spot on. Martin picked us up at the ferry & drove us around Gozo for the day at a reasonable price. My only problem was noise Friday night from the bars nearby. But we were supplied ear plug, & with the window closed it wasn't really a problem. I would recommend the Barrister to anyone visiting Valletta!

The hotel interior is very beautiful and is centrally located near to top attractions. Anyhow the lower level rooms are next to a bar street which is noisy during the weekend. I strongly recommended the room on the top floor with jacuzzi on a balcony. You can see the sunrise from there, amazing! I was surprised that the hotel staff didn’t know the hotel history that well and about the details of e.g.is there a Sunday market. With that said, the staff is very friendly and helpful. There isn’t any shower possibility after you have checked out if you want to refresh before leaving to airport. Breakfast good and a lovely hotel in an historical building. I loved to monestary just opposite the hotel.

Location is excellent in the heart of Valetta, but not so close to all the noise. The staff are especially welcoming and helpful with advice about local places to visit, for dining and otherwise. Highly recommended. And thanks Mark for all your help!

We had to book at last minute due to changes in our flight. The staff was so kind, very helpful. The hotel it is so nice, clean and well decorated. It is close (walking distance) to main attractions. Good restaurants and bars are nearby. Great experience

Lovely stay - rooms at the front of the hotel can be quite noisy at night because of the bars but they do provide ear plugs. Breakfast is continental but sufficient. The manager is lovely and offers any advice or tips you might be looking for. Staff are all polite and pleasant. Building itself is very clean and well kept but the bathroom did sometimes have a sulphur smell. Could be more eco friendly with the toiletries but the water and free mini bar were a lovely touch!

Excellent property and staff could not be more delightful, friendly or helpful. Nothing is too much bother. Owner on site every day and mixes with guests and is always willing to improve your stay. The only minor issue is noise from surrounding cafes and bars which I found disturbing on a few nights, otherwise I doubt you could get a better place to enjoy Malta. Many suggestions of things to do and see, places to go were offered, including ferry and bus times, and my days were filled. Excellent service all round. Highly recommend.

Lovely little hotel situated in the centre of Valletta, so easy to get to all the site seeing places from it. The staff is what makes the hotel even better as they are so friendly and welcoming, as well as informative to help you plan what to visit. Was a bit noisy on the street on Saturday night, but not the other nights. Comfortable beds, clean room with everything need would definitely return.

This was a very friendly boutique hotel. Mark (the owner) and Emma (reception) gave us lots of information on what to see, and the best way to get there. The Barrister is very central, just off the Main Street. Everything in Valletta is walkable. We would definitely stay here again, so friendly The only down side was the lack of a proper shower, it was a low shower head over the bath.

We had such a warm welcome to the hotel and staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The hotel is off the main streets so nice and quiet at nighttime but only a very short walk to bars and restaurants.

Well located, near major attractions and restaurants Staff that goes out of their way to be helpful. We had an early flight on our last day and staff prepared breakfast packages for us to eat on the way to the airport. Another staff member helped us with online checking. Requests were immediately addressed.

We have just spent an amazing 5 nights here and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The rooms were spotless, the breakfast was lovely, and every member of staff went above and beyond. We stayed at the Barrister in October and we made the best choice! Before we even got there, both Mark and Emma were extremely helpful. Our flights got changed before we went and we ended up needing to spend 3 more nights there. We booked our initial stay with Expedia, but they were great working with us to extend our time through them and matching the price/night we booked with Expedia. They also helped us setup airport transfer and that was great as well. Emma was fantastic! She was so friendly and knowledgeable, I looked forward to seeing her when she was working the front desk. The hotel was very clean and had a lot of amenities, even little things like a razor, sewing kit, toothbrush,. The location was perfect! I would highly recommend staying here!

The Barrister is an average townhouse conversion hotel, with all the attendant benefits and drawbacks. Some of the rooms are big, other tiny. Soundproofing works in parts of the building, in others it doesn't. Everything in central Valletta is within a few minute's walk, but it's also in close proximity of bars playing loud music late into the night. However, these are things you expect and accept - still, breakfast was done on the cheap, no questions about that.

We enjoyed having the hot tub at the end of the day sightseeing! Would have liked to have the air-con turned on but this was unavailable at this time of the year?
