Charming hotel close to the airport and downtown. We were greeted with a glass of local wine while we waited for our Check-in. Mack at the front was wonderful!
The room was clean and comfortable and close to their little outdoor patio which we enjoyed.
Left too early to have the breakfast so I can't review on that.

Gorgeous place that takes you back in time. Our room was beautiful. Breakfast was so delicious. Felt like home.

Very quaint and pleasant. Second time I’ve stayed here and will again. I like so much better than a hotel. Highly recommend it.
4.6
Age of the property, it’s excellent condition, the antique furniture, and the friendly staff.
4.6
I enjoyed the included breakfast option with the Bridgerton music vibe.
We were woke up very earlier by people cleaning the area. You can hear every noise at the street.
4.6
Not wanting to be in our room constantly, we ventured outside a lot.
The outside of the building is in serious need of maintenance and repair.
Do not go down the stairs from the upstairs back deck. My husband grabbed the railing and it crumbled in his hands.
There are cobwebs all over the place.
We have more issues with the inn that have not been resolved yet with the management.

The sink in the bedroom was inconvenient, but the jacuzzi in the bathroom was great.

We loved our stay but the parking was inconvenient. The staff was superb and the breakfasts were delicious.

I loved the delicious breakfast and glass of wine the previous evening.

The most adorable Inn! Steps away from Farmers Market and an array of shops and restaurants. Themed rooms that make you feel like you are at home and so cozy and cute. Very friendly staff and a wine and homemade cookie hour to boot! Definitely returning!
4.6
The property is very pretty and the rooms comfortable. Small details could be a bit better, but they were very nice and accommodating.

My 3rd time staying at Garden Street Inn. Kind of lost its charm this time. Service was lukewarm and Marsh garage parking validation is gone. Still, the location is unbeatable.

Although we just spent a night and left early the next day, the experience was great!
Specially breakfast, freshly individually made. Close to dining and shopping at walking distance. Quiet street on a busy commercial area.
Great coordination for late registration and excellent service overall.

The staff were rude. A $900 and $1100 room should have regular cleaning, a shower that works and does not pour onto the bathroom floor making a falling hazard, there was no closet and no hangers to hang clothes on at all. It depends on its cuteness for a minimum of service. When we asked for coffee 5. Minutes before 8 we were told that was impossible.

Not sure whether Expedia or Hotel, but we were scammed . Hotel is perfectly nice average $250 per night hotel. Despite booking 9 months ago for CalPoly graduation weekend we were gouged nearly 5x normal price. My bad for not doing more research, but terrible practice nonetheless.

Didn't have parking which was a surprise to us; had to park 2 blocks away. Biggest problem was the king room we had where the toilet was under the stairs so anyone over 5'4" could not safely use the toilet. My husband hit his head 6 times the first day. He had to duck extremely to try to use the toilet. Plus the room was next to the lobby so it was rather noisy. Breakfast was so - so. The first day when I said I had a medical issue with seeds which was the only item for breakfast, the first thing she said was there's a cafe up the road. This is a bed and breakfast. Luckily, the next day, they accommodated me but I was extremely limited again the 2nd day. I could only have a piece of bread and fruit. I was just expecting more since we've stayed at a sister property before in another area which was great. We wouldn't go back to this one.

The staff were very friendly and nice. The location was excellent for walking downtown. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. Regarding Parking ask the front desk, they will give you information.

A lovely historical building turned into a hotel. We stayed at a room on the first floor. The room is comfortable and quiet, and the decoration is unique with the old furniture. There are two things that people need to be aware of; 1. there is no parking space and no valet parking available. 2. There’s no elevator and no porter available.

This place is gold! The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Staff are really wonderful and friendly. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The locations is right downtown with tons of things to do including seeing the Mission. We will definitely stay here again!

Service at check in desk was great and friendly

Lovely little bed-and-breakfast in a great location. Breakfast was fantastic.

Excellent and wonderful, clean place.

It gives you that cozy homey feeling. Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming, I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there.
4.6
We enjoyed our stay here, you can walk everywhere. I would come back and stay here for breakfast alone! My only complaint would be the lack of affordable parking but that's not the hotel's fault, it's the downtown SLO parking options that are lacking!

What a special place! Enjoyed my single night stay- had a claw foot tub and it was a nice way to end my evening- soaking in a hot bath! Bed was comfy, shades kept room dark till I wanted light. The best part was breakfast- delicious coffee/cream, delicious oj, coffee cake muffins, fruit + hot breakfast was skillfully prepared- a 2 egg tostada with spicy beans. It was a delightful dish I would not have ordered, but now will seek to make at home!

This is a beautiful Inn downtown! The service was great and the breakfast was delicious. We loved that it was downtown so that we could walk to area restaurants and shops.

This aged property needs major upgrades, starting with new flooring (threadbare and stained carpeting in room) and bathrooms (a dangerous old tub with wide walls requiring Twister-like game skills to enter and exit safely). The absence of an elevator looms large when you arrive and realize the number of stairs involved total well over 20 from the street. There is no parking if not handicapped and the local public garage charges $36. The indifferent staff offers no help and few courtesies. Worse still, when I expressed to the morning person my disappointment that the high parking cost had not been disclosed up front, I received lip that I should’ve done more advance research on my own. All in all, I cannot recommend this Inn to anyone but those enamored of sort of upgraded old homes. Okay, more positively, it has an excellent location near to the downtown goings on, new and nice linens on the older bed, a very clean bathroom, and a welcoming parlor area.
4.6
There is no parking through the hotel. Parking at the public ramp is $39 a day which needs to be upfront when booking.

My stay was wonderful. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was delicious and staff was nice. Plenty of dinning options within walking distance for lunch and dinner. To my delight, a couple of record stores were also nearby. SLO Amtrak station was proximal enough to walk to/from. Didn’t make use of the terrace due to rare inclement weather but that didn’t bother me. Will definitely stay again the next time I’m in SLO.

Nice staff, clean, comfortable room.

This was a very comfortable, clean, convenient facility. Next time in San Luis Obispo I will stay there again.
4.6
Great choice as far as location in walking distance to downtown. The room was clean, tidy and very welcoming. Staff was really nice and the cook for breakfast was very talented in making delicious egg scramble. Plenty of coffee, fruit and oj. Dining and living area very quaint and inviting. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing warm and cozy place overnight or several days.

there was work going on, so inconvenient for guests

A lovely small hotel right in the middle of the town (which meant it has no parking of its own, but we found a space on the street only three blocks away). No coffee making facilities in the room, and the jacussi wasn't working, but the breakfast was cooked to order and delicious, the bed was comfortable, and there was a welcome fire burning in the grate. A real delight, charming and well-maintained.

We were excited about staying in a room with a pot belly stove and, we thought, a sunny space with some views. We got a “suite” on an alley , very dark, non working stove, a soaking tub/shower that required us to step across over a foot-wide edge to get in and out, stained carpet, a narrow wardrobe where clothes have to hang at an angle, an old tv with limited channels and a fairly aloof staff. No discount was offered for the major feature we selected the room for. There are some nice sunny rooms but I wouldn’t recommend this inn. There are many nicer places to stay in town
4.6
Nice boutique hotel. Breakfast was a nice touch. Minimal furniture, so little room to store or set things. Bed seemed small. Very convenient to downtown SLO.

What a gem 💎 definitely my favorite stay at the Garden st. Inn- the best breakfast too :) really nice people too!

Beautiful classic Inn. High ceilings, well appointed, great breakfast!
