I booked for a conference. Upon arrival the rate had changed no notice and due to the conference all hotels were booked. I was even provide with a reference number and STILL told my room was canceled. There’s a weed smell every day in the house. We were offered breakfast once but we never made an effort to partake. There’s a pitbull which we were informed is a service dog. FYI..this was my first time in a bed and breakfast. I didn’t like it won’t be doing that again. The family and other tenant was pleasant.

The location is phenomenal! However the walls and doors are really thin so there's a lack of assumed privacy you'd expect. The house also had a very strong weed odor downstairs where the hosts live.

This is a wonderfully maintained and painted house conveniently located to downtown, Civic Center and the Mari Gras parades.
Staff super friendly and helpful.
Single drive for parking cars and can be difficult to get your car out if someone parked behind you.
Even though we liked the house a lot the bed in our room was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever tried to sleep on. I don’t know how the other bedroom mattresses feel but the one we slept on should be replaced asap!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mardi Gras house. We really hated to see that it was being sold but hopefully the new owners will continue to have it a Bed and Breakfast. It was conveniently located for all our needs. The house keeper was available at all times and very accommodating. The room was way better than expected. The decor was fabulous!!! If it does continue to be a bed and breakfast we will continue to use it as long as we can.

Super cute old home with 4 seperate rooms.
Parking for mardi gras parades was easy, breezy. Hosts and made us aware and gave detailed instructions on how to get in and get by blocked roads. This was clutch.
There is house cat. She snuck into our room one night and ended up spending the night with us. She is cute and friendly. Loved her company.
There are several stairs to get up to rooms. I dont remember reading that in listing, but didnt affect us at all.
The house itself was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ but the real gems were Tyra the house mom and Steve the breakfast cook. They added such a fun vibe that you'd expect from a placed named Mardi Gras house.
Steve made us delicious breakfast both days and his quick wit and humor were missed before we even checked out.
Thank you to the wondeeful host and the live in staff. This trip would not have been the same without staying at this property.

Definitely exactly what to expect when Mardi Gras is in the name. Very antique living. Glad the price was low.

Our stay was great, with Karen helping us get our bearings and giving great advice on where to go for dinner. And the location was awesome - just a couple blocks from restaurants and bars.

The best way to experience Mobile. Close to everything downtown. Easy walk to area attractions. The home was comfortable, clean and a nice front porch to sit and relax. Karen was very informative, friendly and a delight to talk to. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend.

Great service and good value for your buck, special mention to furry host Fuzzy the cat!

The area was really great. The hostess was fantastic and reached out personally to coordinate check in and was so helpful with everything. Great place. It is an older house and needs to be considered when booking but it was great!

Location is good. The owner is very nice BUT it’s not possible for her to operate a B&B while holding a full time job an hour away without a qualified cook & cleaning person. The “continental “ breakfast meant you had to make your own coffee/tea, there was bread for toast dated 10/5 (we arrived 10/21), the bag of blueberry bagels was also outdated. There were 4 open boxes of cereal that I didn’t bother to check dates because we decided to walk to A Spot of Tea for breakfast. Even though we reserved a room with a private bathroom, she took us to a room with a bathroom in the hall & advised us we’d be sharing the shower. That was not acceptable and she did move us to another room with an amazing shower! I had to search the house for toilet paper and towels since the room wasn’t cleaned/bed wasn’t made, etc. after our first night.

Loved the theme, the rooms were nice and cold, the beds were super comfy, and the hotel kitty an absolute darling. Would definitely stay again.

I highly recommend this a place to stay when visiting Mobile. I chose it due to it being close to the cruise terminal. The house is actually walking distance to everything in Mobile. The host even allowed me to park my car there for free during my cruise. If I am ever in Mobile I HAVE to stay at the Mardi Gras house.

Property is ideally located for downtown walking tours, and is in a safe/quiet neighborhood. Owner knows the area well and gives great recommendations! We stayed in the Jasmine Room, very clean/comfortable, fantastic double shower plus a balcony. Enjoyed a fine breakfast of bacon/eggs/bagels on the front porch along with top-shelf coffee. Great value, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We stayed for 1 night about 3 weeks ago, during a road trip of the Deep South, having booked based on the recommendations of previous reviewers. It is certainly quirky, but why does quirky have to come with a layer of dust? The bedside lamps were beautiful, but covered in dust as were the mouldings of all of the ill fitting doors.
Our expectations of a B&B are that the proprietor or a member of staff should be present for breakfast, with coffee already made in the pot, ready to pour, and to attend to the guests needs. We can cope with toasting our own bagels etc, but having to make a pot of coffee and take our crockery into the kitchen and load it into the dishwasher, is really a step too far. Had we have wanted self catering, we would have booked it.
In fact, we did not see the proprietor at all in the morning, even though we did not depart until after 10.30am.

Really lovely, friendly owner. Walking distance to the Saenger Theatre where I saw a concert in the evening. Overall I was really happy to stay there and would stay again if I come back to Mobile. Oh, and Fuzzy Buddy is so adorable, pity I can’t take him home with me!

It was the most accommodating place I’ve ever stayed. Karen was an amazing host!!!

Wonderfully decorated historic home and Karen was awesome. This was our first experience staying at a B&B and our expectations were beyond met. We stayed during Mardi Gras for a ball and we were not only able to walk right down from the house to watch the parade, we were closer to our ball at the Civic Center than their own parking lot was.
