A great find.
On arrival we walked over to look at all the boats on Roydon Marina and had lunch at The Boathouse Cafe Bar, which overlooks the Marina.
Staff friendly and helpful in the Hotel Reception.
We had booked a windowless room but figured we'd be watching television or asleep so wouldn't need to worry about looking out of a window. It got a bit stuffy in the night and felt a bit constricted but it was probably more psychological than actual.
Train station in walking distance. Trains to London.
Indian Restaurant steps from our hotel room. Delicious meal here on our second night. We had a leaflet in our room which gave us 10% off food excluding drinks. So happy days!
Great for walking. We walked beside the Stort Navigation and to Dobb's Weir for a great breakfast at the Palace River Cafe.
We hope to return and use this hotel as a base once again.

I stay here regularly and it suits my needs well.

Shower head had no bracket you had to hold it by hand to have a shower. Bathroom smelled due to the Sani flow, not working correctly.

Matresses in the superior twin room were extremely lumpy and uncomfortable. Emergency exit light above the door was so bright, it was like trying to sleep with a light on.

The room had no windows and it was extremely hot. Difficult to regulate the temp

Although always staying on business the location makes it feel like a holiday 😎

The room we booked had no windows. The doors had to be locked/unlocked using the key which I felt could be an issue in the event of a fire. Nice staff, specifically Andrea.

No toilets available in reception. Resturaunt shut down. Recommended taxi companies would.nt come out to Roydon. They said it was to far.

Everything is perfect

Lovely riverside location, plenty of parking, and very easy to be able to wheel luggage straight in, all on ground floor so no stairs to negotiate with cases. Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. Room with twin beds very comfortable, and although tis room had no window (which was made clear when I booked), this was not a problem, as very good lighting and felt spacious. Actually very cosy. Everything seemed new, super clean throughout, and very comfortable bed. Plenty of storage and great biscuits to accompany the tea and coffee facilities in the room! I would definitely stay there again.

Mildew round various parts of the room, smelt damp

Strange 'hotel'.The accommodation is a collection of cabins some in the main reception block where our final quite pleasing room was. The first room we were given was not prepared and not as good.Staff soon found alternative.
Electric wall heater in room just adequate.
'Continental' breakfast in room poor, small cereal packets and a 'croissant' - no table in room to eat on. Nice setting near canal. Approach road rather narrow.

My stay at the Marina village hotel was fair for the price. Clean, friendly. But the most important of all is comfort. Neither myself or my husband slept, the bed was clean but so uncomfortable we left the property on new years day at 5 am. Not very happy with that at all.

Mattress very hard not a good night sleep
