- Cheap.
- We were able to check in early.
- Has two kitchens and quite a lot of showers.
- Pretty nice common area, consoles and board games available.
- Helpful staff.
- Great location, close to City Park.
- The cleanliness is below standard. The bathrooms are dirty, smelly and old.
- The whole building is very old and needs renovation of the interiors.
- Has an outdated bed allocation. We were shown which bed are ours when we checked in, yet when we came back to the hostel in the evening there was a woman in one of our beds. The beds should be numbered to avoid this, like it is in most modern hostels.

I liked the fact that it had a nice bathtub and very big and nice kitchens. The hang out area was nice and the bed was comfortable.
Didn’t really like the lightning

Perfect location for gigs in Puskas Stadion. Heroes Square and Szecheni Baths are also within walking distance.
Staff is super friendly. Location feels safe but couldn't find anyting open to get food after the gig. Had individual lockers in the main area where you could easily store your luggage and belongings. Would stay here again if I go to a gig in the area.
Rooms are in the basement and may have a bit of musty smell. The rooms facing the main road have traffic noise even late at night. Stair into the bathroom may get problematic for some people.

Friendly staff, location, secret Chambers, breakfast
A bit old floor. But in General,ok

Very laidback and open atmosphere, where it’s easy to meet other travelers. The place was surprisingly quiet at night, and we stayed there five nights in a family room. It’s a labyrinth of corridors (several hidden behind mirrors or even cabinet doors), which gives it a special atmosphere but also prevents noise transferring.
All the staff was very friendly and helpful, with special thanks to the Argentinian night watch and the girls that prepared the breakfast.
Location is excellent. The adjacent park has several excellent new musea, old palaces and the famous thermal baths on walking distance. Buses run every 5 minutes, and bring you to nearby metro lines.
When it gets really warm in the summer (30+ degrees) then a ventilator would be helpful to make the room cool for the night.

Very comfy hostel with pleasant staff. Rooms are clear and climatized, bathrooms and kitchen as well. Kitchen is supplied with all you need on everyday basis. I find myself so enjoyable in the garden. It is also located on very good place. We'll see again next year again for sure
I actually did like everything in the hostel

I loved the kitchen and common area facilities! Staff were helpful, printing a ticket on my behalf, minding luggage throughout the day and being staffed at all hours. The bed had a power point and light nearby and the room was spacious.

Hostel is located on a good spot (museums, a big park), and has very good connections to city center.
The staff was very uninterested, we felt like we were bothering them when asking anything. Breakfast was very weak (sandwich that you usually buy at the gas station, a 3 in 1 instant coffee, and a bottle of water). The timing of breakfast was also unreliable. It arrives sometime in between 8 and 9 AM.
Sanitary conditions in the bathrooms are not good (mould and limescale). Chairs and sofas in the dinning room are so old that it feels like they are going to break.
Budget double room pictures are misleading. They don't show you that your room is actually more like a closet with the ceiling so low.

This was an easy location, located next to Heroes Square, several museums, ice skating in the park, expensive and plain restaurants. There was even a fancy thermal bath nearby in comfortable walking distance. A small zoo was also just a couple blocks away. Everything I love. Not a great pile of shopping opportunities on this street, which is NOT why I travel. The Baroque Hostel has high ceilings, with indoor decor from cupids over the doors, a step-through closet (like Narnia) and a mirror door which led to more rooms. The front desk was always covered, with helpful people who were full of information as well as courtesy. The floors, furniture, bathrooms, and kitchen were kept clean, and the noise levels of the other guests was comfortable. Every direction I walked was worthwhile, as Budapest is beautiful and charming. This was an amazing place to stay and well worth the inexpensive cost.
I was disappointed by two days of rain, but still walked to the nearby museums to explore. Winter month, so there was public ice skating in the park across the street, but some of the restaurants were closed, and no bikes for rent nearby.

very well-equipped kitchen and the room and bed were big. common area is spacial and comfortable
one of the fridges in kitchen is not cold enough and some of my food went bad

Decent communal areas & kitchen, friendly helpful staff, good wifi. reasonable value for money. 24 hour reception
Very limited free breakfast option. Mattress was very thin, just like the walls. I could hear people talking quietly in the next room.

The location is nice and the stay was pleasant. There are a lot of common rooms so this is a nice place to meet new people, and they are very nicely decorated. Many bathrooms, several kitchens equipped with dishes. Everything seemed clean. We were able to leave our luggage at the hostel after checkout which was very convenient.
The only issue we had was with the breakfast. While the food itself was very good, we had ordered it for 9am, arrived at 9:05 and only got our food at 9:50! Even though it was the staff's fault that we were eating late, they came over at 10 o'clock and asked us to leave because they were closing even though we didn't have time to finish eating, we only had 10 minutes.

The accommodation was so cosy and very baroque! you step through a closet to get to your room, a Narnia like experience. They have 3 kitchens and ample bathrooms/showers.
The bathrooms, while relatively clean, smelled like they needed to clean their drains. It wasn’t horrific but would definitely help!
