We couldn't quite go "excellent" but our Unit was very good and we would definitely return. Some of the fittings were a bit old and jaded. The shower heads were inadequate. The stove was difficult to operate until you understood how it worked, and that wasn't easy. But, these were small issues. Cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils. fridge etc were very good. The Unit was very clean and tidy and was well furnished and decorated. The staff were very obliging.

The location is amazing. Front desk service great. For what we paid our room was pretty tired ! As are the facilities……but the location is brilliant…. Our fridge stunk of fish residue which is a shame it didn’t get picked up by the cleaners and equally a shame that guests would think this is acceptable to leave for someone else

We've visited this property a few times since 2002 and it doesn't disappoint. A well-managed property away from the bustle of Surfers Paradise which is exceptional for families with young children also. Staff are friendly and parking very easy.

The views were extraordinary. The little steps that were scattered in the unit because the floor was uneven was a bit dangerous. The pillows were terrible we went out and bought pillows after our first night. The apartment was very beaten up, the couch needs a good clean it had stains. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. Would definitely consider going back despite some of the cons mentioned above

Location, size and affordability were great. Not happy that check in is meant to be at 2 but weren't able to get in until 2:30 due to cleaning then finding cups wet and cutlery dirty. Only 1 car park available although we booked a 3 bedroom apartment with 4 adults, would have been nice to have heads up that parking only covers 1 car. Free wi-fi available, however only 1 day it worked the other days it was limited access.

Location was at a quieter part of the coast, but absolute beachfront with safe patrolled swimming and plenty of eating places around. The room was clean, spacious and very well appointed with utterly spectacular views. Check in was painless, parking and facilities were all easy to find and use. The pool was very nice as was the spa.

The lounge furniture was comfortable. The second dbl or queen size bed was great to fit my 6ft tall son. Loved the blinds in the master bedroom en-suite.

The location and awesome views out of floor to ceiling windows looking straight into the ocean were the best, felt like we were on a ship. We were on the 14th floor, south east corner with east view to the ocean and south view all along the coast to Coolangatta. Balcony and windows that open to bring in the sound of the sea. Apartment was comfortable but not super up to date but fine for us. Outdoor pool was very warm and clean, direct beach access, tennis court a bonus. Secure undercover parking. July stay, blessed with superb sunshine and weather.

We loved our stay here and look forward to returning. The apartment was beautiful and very clean. All cooking appliances worked well. We had a problem with TV reception and only mentioned it in passing to reception, as we felt it wasn’t too bad, but thought should mention it anyway. They got onto it straight away and it was fixed. The view is awesome and the location couldn’t be better. It was so easy to get around and only used our car once to go to Movieworld. It was an easy walk to the restaurants, cafes and shops on Tedder Avenue. We walked to SeaWorld, Surfers Paradise and even Australia Fair. I wouldn’t suggest Australia Fair as a walk for everyone though, as it was a long walk. The gym, whilst small, had all the equipment anyone would want use but only one of each. Which was just fine for us. The pool was wonderful too. We would definitely love to come back for another stay and happily recommend the Golden Sands. Five stars from us.

On the downsides, rated 4 and a half stars but I have never been to a 4 and a half star apartment that does not provide wifi...until now. Dated amenities as it is quite an old apartment block, but room had been refurbished (kitchens and bathrooms) and beds were large and comfy so that was good. Air-conditioning unit in lounge had some sort of problem with a sign advising us not to use it for more than 3 hours at a time, which also wasnt quite up to a four and half star standard...we didnt find that a problem, but luckily we werent there in summer. All in all we had a good stay, loved listening to the ocean waves as we went to sleep at night, that was worth the stay in this great location.

This property is definitely older and a lot of the building itself and the furniture are fairly worn. If you can see past that and the lack of WiFi, it is a fairly cheap price to pay in order to wake up with a killer ocean front view every morning. I did find cell reception in this building to be hit and miss. My phone worked fine out on the patio (and the rest of the Gold Coast) but inside the building it was constantly losing reception.

Walking distance to surf club for dinner. Also lovely restaurants in Tedder Ave and some nice shopping. Easy half an hour walk to Cavill Ave. We had a beautiful south view able to see down to Coolangatta. Undercover parking. Nice pool and gym. Highly recommend

I had one of the most amazing stay at Golden Sands. I would love to visit the property again. The only thing I would suggest is to renovate the property as it got potential to be one of the best property around.

Awesome location and outstanding views of beach and ocean from all rooms with the beach facing apartments. Furniture is very dated and rooms are not very clean. A remodel is needed to match the incredible views. Price is reasonable though. Unit is not well equipped with normal supplies such as salt/pepper and even toilet paper is not included ( a true SELF service apartment.

Location...location. on the beack with great views over the ocean. Only a short walk to some very nice restaurants. The 2 bed apartment is roomy and well equipped. I will stay here again!
