Very natural setting. Calm and peaceful. The hot tub was wonderful! The guide, Maggie, did a great job explaining everywhere we should go and booking us reservations. She really knows the island well!

A delightful eco-friendly hotel perched on a hill overlooking a fjord and the city of Castro. Excellent food, and service. The view from every room is outstanding. You must have a car to stay here and it is a long drive to Castro, making it difficult to come and go for evening dinners. You can take a boat from the hotel to Castro ($60 US) and return in a taxi ($20 US) which we did one evening but it is an expensive undertaking. Dinners at the hotel are excellent but very expensive as well. The hotel has a spa (which we did not use) but there are few walking trails on the property so most of a guest's activities are through daily excursions. Castro and the surrounding area is fun to explore and there is lots to do.

The hotel and their surroundings are truly exceptional, we had a great stay and really enjoyed our bedroom (which was a standard suite). The room had a great view, immersed in the nature of the hotel, the room is also very spacious!
We also enjoyed a hot tub which was heated the old way with wood, very nice. The hotel has some short trails which are also nice to take small walks, you can see some sheep very close by, which is very cute and also, they have their own orchard where they grow organic veggies.
We had a great time in the hotel, and decided to enjoy it more than we normally do (we tend to stay in hotels, just to get out of bed early and start exploring the area), because we really think it was worth it!

Check-in was flawless. We had texted ahead to ask that hot tub be ready and they confirmed promptly. At check-in we mentioned that this vacation was to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When we came up from the hot tub, we found in the room a bottle of champagne on ice with two glasses, complements of the hotel. The architecture of the hotel includes traditional elements of southern Chile and lots of glass to take advantage of the spectacular views across the bay to the city of Castro. Dinner and wines were superb and reasonably priced. The staff well trained and very attentive. We will be back!

We loved staying here! As we drove away at the end of our stay, we were making plans to come back for a family trip. The view from the dining room was spectacular and the food was unbelievably good. The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the natural, local items such as wool blanket and a collection of woolen dolls on display on the way to our room.
Since the hotel is down a long dirt road, we were worried about having to drive "into town" to get dinner in case we did not like the food. Actually, at dinner, there is a "prix fix" menu which changes daily along the regular menu (you can order from both menus if you'd like). Turns out the food was so good and affordable that we had all our breakfasts and dinners at the hotel. The dining room has a spectacular view.
While there, I had a cold and so they made me tea with lemon/ginger/honey at our request and put it in a pot to bring back to our room-I appreciated the care and concern.
Even though the hotel is not in the city of Castro, it is close to everything-the market in Dalcahue on Sundays and a famous café.
I recommend following the map they will send you to get to the hotel using the southern (not the northern approach) approach to Dalcahue (W-55) off of Ruta 5 and then turning right at Rilan. If you do this, you will see all the signs they put on the road to get the hotel. We had a GPS which "gave up" once we got off the road-doesn't matter since the map and signs were super helpful.

Centro de Ocio is on a hill overlooking Castro and the fiord below, a beautiful vista from all the rooms and the lodge.
The lodge/restaurant serves good meals and the staff is helpful and responsive.
It's a great location away from the city but close enough to access both Castro and the national park with ease.
