Need to let you know room are close and you can hear it all

This property is not an "upmarket B&B"
It should be considered as a Hostel. There is a separste bedroom & bathroom, however all other amenties are shared. Laundry facillities are in another building down the road & Wifi is not free.
4.2
Positives: Price and location were great, self check in and check out, bed linen and towels were fresh and bed quite comfortable. Negatives: Room smelled musty and there was visible mould in the bathroom, I could hear other occupants walking around and talking in the adjoining room.
4.2
Our stay was quiet & peaceful.
4.2
Very bad smell in the whole property. Feel like mould smell. Bedding is humid. I can't breathe properly in the room. So I almost didn't get any sleep that night. It's called B&B, but doesn't offer any breakfast. No wifi at all.
4.2
Nice peaceful setting, easy check in. Room was comfortable. Venetion blinds and window sills had thick covering of dust...time for a spring clean.
4.2
ok
4.2
Advertised as a B&B. There was no breakfast provided or the ability to order breakfast. Very low water pressure in the shower

It’s a lovely property, but the mattress are terrible, they are uncomfortable, the mattress need to be more supportive. After sleeping on those mattresses for 2 nights , my back was hurting.
The parking was a bit tight, but ok
4.2
The place was so quiet. The parking is not so convenient.

Really had a good stay here. Very clean, great amenities and staff provided great service.
Rooms very well equipped and spacious.
Conveniently located and very close to Atherton, I would happily stay here again.
4.2
We had a lovely comfortable room, and the kitchen/lounge/ common area was well equipped and comfortable.

When we got over the bleach almost knocking us out the door, we found it a very strange property. Our room was annexed to a very dated living room with a bar fridge numbered for each room. We also weren't notified that there was nothing except UHT milk in the fridge. To be fair, we weren't advised that breakfast was provided although some reviews mentioned it. Our room had a saggy old futon with a daggy cover. Surely a nice chair would be affordable and presentable. The see through curtain on the front door of our room had been noted in reviews three years ago, yet still nothing has changed. Hence privacy is almost non existent. Cheap broken curtain rod being used as a towel rail just dropped on the floor at the slightest touch. Shower door had a broken off handle. Above all it was the totally filthy floor that was the most memorable defect. I wish I took a photo of my feet after walking around for just a few minutes. Absolutely jet black and filthy. Yet the bedlinen was fantastic. Go figure.
4.2
Good location close to town. Bed was not very comfortable.Venetian blinds let in a lot of light. Sheer curtain over front door offered no privacy. The shower floor felt as though it may cave in at any moment, and there was thick black mould growing at the bottom of the fixed panel of the shower screen. The electric setup was very poor and unsafe, with a series of powerboards joined together to reach across the room. No toilet ro holder. Blankets and towels were inadequate. Toilet paper was very cheap, thin and scratchy. Overall a disappointing experience to the point where we almost considered driving home and forfeiting our room rather than staying.

A nice stay

I liked the cabin feel. The basic breakfast was helpful with fresh milk and juice.

Cleanliness needs improvement

Drive off street was hard over gutter. Not their problem as such.
Heater in room was noisy for wife.

We were disappointed with our stay at this property. We felt there was a lack of privacy since we were at such close quarters with those in the next room. We had a shared common area - kitchen & lounge.
In our room there was a disconnected clock/radio - probably because it was unable to be used since the time was not able to be adjusted when we plugged it in. Not much point in leaving it there!!
Our TV did not work - despite accurately following instructions & another ‘tech savvy’ guest who tried to assist. Prior to 7pm we phoned the after hrs assist number but no one answered & despite a message being left there was no response. We were very disappointed as we wanted to watch the Wimbledon men’s final and we were aware that we would disturb the guests in next room if we watched in the lounge room.
During the night we were woken by the creaks of floor as a guest from the next room did their best to quietly go out to kitchen.
In the morning we were woken at 0645 by guest/guests above moving about normally on the floor and then as they showered.
It is an old property and the decor looks “tired” & uninviting.
It was quite cold & there was no form of heating available in common area or bedroom.
There were many rules & expectations of the guests (e.g. if u use a throw on the lounge - u r required to put it back as u found it) & everything had an extra price tag - so much so that it felt like there was little service for guests at all.
Did not get what we paid for!

Quiet location was ideal. Staff were friendly and the lush garden is nice. However, it was cool during the nights.

If you are an older person without a smart phone, you cannot access this property. You need codes to check in and to get on wifi, but with no phone etc, this is impossible. You have to pay $6 for one hour straight for wifi anyway. The parking is very difficult - very cramped.
This property is non-hosted and serviced.

The room was a good size and had a refrigerator, microwave and toaster and heater for our use. Table and chairs for dining and a sofa/lounge. Everything worked well. The owners were very helpful and we enjoyed the stay. The B&B is close to the centre of town and is in a very quiet location. We also visited Herberton Historic Village which is about 20 minutes drive from Atherton. Highly recommend this attraction.
4.2
Helen and John was very helpful. The room was clean. Steps voice at the upstairs was little bit bad. If you don't want scratches on the car, be careful when you drive away from yard, its so close to car's bumper...
4.2
Very basic accommodation. Comfortable bed and convenient location in the centre of the Atherton tablelands, providing easy access to major local attractions, which are wonderful and well worth visiting.
4.2
The beds were not to motel standard, we had a cheap metal framed bed with a foam matress on it, very unconfortable and lots of noise from upstairs. Definitely won't stay again.
4.2
Thankful of Helen's help to carry bag up stairs.

We had a fantastic time at the Atherton Blue Gum B&B for the two nights that we stayed there. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating, she even phoned me to advise that I had left something behind after we had checked out. The beds were so soft and cosy, the blankets warm and the showers hot! Our only complaint is that we were there so briefly! Definitely recommend!!
4.2
Nice set up, host very friendly, facilities good and clean. Mattress and pillows well past use by and very uncomfortable.
4.2
The B&B Blue Gum is located well, pretty central to the town and is an enclosure of the area downstairs from the family who quietly live upstairs. However, because of the situation with the beds being a thinnish foam mattress with a waffle foam top on top of slats, if you have any back or neck issues or are used to a bit more comfort or support then this won't be comfortable at all, I found it very poor. Then again its proximity to the room immediately adjoining with its bunk and queen bed close to each other which is presumably for families,so if you are travelling as a couple or a single person staying for a few days having to share the common area and tiny kitchenette under the stairwell could well be an issue. You also have to pay for access to the wifi. However having voiced these concerns with the owners they happily moved us to their other B&B, The Summit just a few doors down which was very very nice, extremely clean with plenty of space, great facilities and extremely comfortable beds. I would most certainly recommend this last one without hesitation, it was terrific.

Comfortable and well appointed, very friendly and accommodating owners

Quiet place, we found it quite relaxing.
The apartment was quite big, would easily sleep 5/6 people.

Had a lovely few days exploring the tablelands and Blue Gum B&B was a fabulous base to come home to.

Not amazing! The two bed room apartment is old and not clean. No facilities in the house esp. The toilet. Bug on bed, spider web in the toilet.

The scenery in the tablelands is spectacular.
