Spacious home with stunning views of the Keweenaw Waterway! Located at the end of a quiet road yet close to so many major attractions! Michigan Technological University, Historic downtown Houghton & Hancock, Ripley Ski Hill, Michigan Tech ski and hiking trails, Quincy Mine, Snowmobile Trails, different beaches and much more! Copper Harbor and Mount Bohemia are only 45 minutes from us! Brew a cup of coffee or tea and hangout on the beautiful deck overlooking the bridge with unobstructed views through the glass railing. 😊 Relax and unwind by being screen-free here. All bedding, including comforters, are washed between stays.

Absolutely beautiful home with nice open spaces. The views, both night and day are fabulous. We hope to visit the Hancock/Houghton area again and if so, I’ll look to stay in the house again.

Such a wonderful home to serve as your home base while exploring the Houghton. The view is even more breathtaking than the pictures - day and night. The entire living area is perfectly oriented to maximize the view. If we return to Houghton I won’t even search for other options - THIS is where you want to be!

I stayed at Canal view at the end of July and I couldn't have been happier. As soon as you enter the house and see that view - wow! I thought the bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable and the kitchen was well-appointed. The location was perfect for my daily trips up into the peninsula and there was a grocery store very close by. I liked this property so much that I'm going to book again for next spring!

The property is stunning and so conveniently located. We were having a family reunion and it rained all weekend so all outside activities were cancelled. We all met at our beautiful VRBO home and it worked out great. Can't say enough about the home!

We loved the view, it was beautiful! Enjoyed drinking coffee on the deck in the morning and a reading book in the afternoon. Houghton/Hancock has so many things to do and see. Also, you are just a short drive from Copper Harbor.

This home is lovely and in the perfect spot for a visit to MTU or a Keewenaw adventure! Our family group of 7 enjoyed everything about this home... the beds were the most comfortable we've ever had, the view is spectacular, the home is well appointed and very comfortable! Would recommend to anyone, and will definitely book again!

My girlfriends and I had a lovely stay at this rental. The view was beautiful and the house was clean and decorated tastefully. Originally there was supposed to be 10 of us and a few weren’t able to make it. In the end, I do think this space is a bit tight for 10 adults, especially if everyone wishes to sleep in a proper bed. It fit our group of 8 adults perfectly.

It was a quick trip to the UP and we only stayed two nights. There were 6 adults (my husband and I and our 2 adult children, their spouses, and my infant grandson) and there was plenty of room for us all. The house was exactly as described and had a spectacular view, both daytime and night. Only complaint was there was no TV in the house; disappointing to my football-fan husband. We did enjoy a game night at the large dining table and had a wonderful time visiting family in the area. Would definitely stay there again.

Had a great stay! The house has an incredible view of downtown Houghton and the deck is a perfect way to enjoy it. The kitchen is well-equipped so we were able to cook a big dinner for our boys during our visit with no issue. We didn’t utilize all the rooms but the two main bedrooms had super comfortable beds! Has a nice dining room table that sat 8 comfortably. Place was clean and decor was nice. Location in Hancock was great for visiting our MTU students. Communication with the host and property manager was great and had no issues with anything during our visit. Would definitely book again!!

Close to Michigan Tech's campus and the multitude of Keweenaw Peninsula's trails, water falls, and views made this location perfect for our adult family of five. Great space for community on the deck or in the open floor plan living space, we also had our own room to relax in. Clean space with everything we needed (sans TV), and just a breathtaking view of the canal and Houghton.

This is a great property that worked fantastic for our family. The house is updated and open and great for big group conversations. The basement is very large as well and adds to the space well. Fantastic view from the really anywhere in the house and the deck gave some good outdoor seating. Doesn’t have TV but really doesn’t need it. Internet was very good and was getting about 270Mbps speeds which allowed to do a little work when I needed to. Great spot to kick back and remote work or disconnect.

I grew up in this town… one of my HighSchool friends grew up in the house next door, and I loved going to her house and looking out over Houghton/Hancock. This place was a great stay. Loved the view, a great launching point for keweenaw exploration with the family. We all really loved the house, and plan to stay again in the future.

Overall thought the place was very nice for my family. We loved venturing out from the house and driving all over the Keweenaw. Wished there had been maybe a few more dishes (couldn’t find a spatula). And if there had been a bleach spray available I would have sprayed the shower door corners. I put a lot of thought into where we stay. I read many reviews first before choosing a location. We did lose power for a short time during a thunderstorm but it was restored quickly. Overall I gave this house 5 stars. I’m super picky about cleanliness and availability/access. Overall great house with a really beautiful view of the Houghton/Hancock area.

Unbelievable view of Portage Lake Bridge from a spacious deck and home. Plenty of room to spread out, cook and be mesmerized by the beauty of the Keewenaw. Great anchoring spot to go out to explore. Many beaches and parks close by. The winding, maze of hilly roads keeps your brain sharp. Would go back!

The views are amazing! The house is so private! And I used the infrared sauna while there to help ease my joint inflammation from rheumatoid arthritis. I have one at home and love it. The only complaint I have is the bed is too soft in the main bedroom. But that might be what some people like. I lived in Houghton/Hancock for 8 summers as a child while my dad flew the seaplane out to Isle Royale. So Houghton and Hancock hold a special place in my heart. This was a family get-together to show nephews the area and what we experienced as kids living in the area. The house is great and we all enjoyed it immensely.

Had the pleasure of saying several days/nights and found it was difficult to motivate my wife and kids to leave the deck and incredibly view! Spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Would highly recommend!

Very clean with a great layout for socializing. It doesn't have clutter so when you walk in you fell like you can make it your own. It has some of the best views anywhere along the Portage Canal. Beds are comfortable and there is plenty of room to spread out for your own comfort or just to have your own space. It is somewhat secluded with a great outdoor space including a balcony off the back of the house that would be great for hanging out. I also can't say enough about the communication throughout the booking, the stay, and even after. We left something behind, they communicated this and went out of their way to get it back to us. We will be back!

The property was dynamite. Clean, convenient, quiet and a spectacular view of Houghton, the lift bridge and the canal. Could easily sleep a dozen or more. Great workout / sauna area and the deck would be perfect in summer. Only missing a TV and a pool table, but still outstanding.
