About this house rental
Martlet Cottage is a fantastic, two bedroom holiday home perfectly located for exploring the picturesque town of Aldeburgh with a variety of independent shops and eateries, as well as the wonderful shingle beach. Ideal for couples or a small family, this modern property benefits from a fully enclosed garden, two parking spaces and spacious rooms throughout.
On the ground floor there is a well-equipped kitchen with an oven, hob and large fridge / freezer providing everything would you need to enjoy a home-cooked meal. Beyond here there is a bright and airy, open-plan living and dining room with a smart TV, plenty of seating, dining table and chairs as well as a back door leading out into good-sized garden where there is outdoor furniture and a charcoal BBQ.
Upstairs there are two comfortable and well furnished bedrooms, the main one benefitting from a standard double bed, chest of drawers, hanging rail, bedside tables and a floor length mirror. The second bedroom has a king-size bed, chest of drawers and a desk with external monitors for those for may need to do some remote work. There is a shared family bathroom with shower bath, wash basin, and WC with an additional WC and wash basin downstairs.
One of the best walks/cycle routes on the Suffolk Coast starts from Lapwings, running along the old railway track through the woods to Thorpeness, where you can go boating or enjoy lunch at The Dolphin Inn and walk home along the beach. In the other direction the path goes to town so you can go shopping or out for dinner with a 10/15 minute walk home. You can store bikes in the safety of the garden and enjoy other sports such as golf on one of the two golf courses close by and sailing on the Alde Estuary.
