The “loft” is a large modern, clean living space with a spacious bathroom and one large double bedroom. There’s an open mezzanine level ( no door or window) reached by stairs, added above the living space. It has 2 narrow beds, suitable for kids. The sofa in the living room can be converted for sleeping. Our hosts were so lovely and responded quite quickly when the power went out one evening. We were 4 single women -so the lack of privacy for some of us was a bit of a challenge. The location was excellent. There is a large private terrace attached to the property which was also lovely, and a washing machine . Overall I can’t fault the attentiveness of our hosts and would suggest this property would be ideal for a couple and 2 kids over 5.

Lovely well equipped appartment ideally located to explore the pretty town of Menaggio. Clean, comfortable and private. The church bells were delightful. Fabiana and Roy were lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome. Would certainly recommend!

We had a very happy three weeks in this lovely apartment and recommend it most highly. The website photos are totally accurate - and the apartment was actually bigger than we had expected - very light and comfortable - high ceilings, a large bathroom with lots of storage space - and a large outdoor terrace. Location is excellent - about 5 minutes walk to the ferry and only a couple of minutes walk to the town centre - and the bus stop for Como and Lugarno. There is a small supermarket at the ferry and a larger Conad in the opposite direction further on from the bus stop. There was nothing here that we could fault. Menaggio is our favourite Lake Como location and we do hope that, one day, we will be fortunate enough to return the Lovely Loft. Thank you to all involved with our booking.

Most of the accommodation is on the ground floor, with a 'hidden' bedroom on the mezzanine floor which I can well imagine kids loving! Very modern, clean, and well equipped with a private car parking space right outside the front door. Large patio area, no view to speak of but that really doesn't detract from what this apartment has to offer. Just a few minutes walk to the main square, restaurants and bars, and the lakeside. We loved this apartment and Mennagio is a perfect place for a relaxing holiday. The apartment is also just a five minute walk from the ferries. Buy a day ticket and just enjoy the ride and jumping off and on at the beautiful little towns dotted around the lake. Or just take a seat on the promenade to enjoy an ice cream and watch the world go by. We loved it here and I think we will return, and if we do, it will be to the Lovely Loft!

A great clean property with a fantastic set up for children. A 5 minute walk to the main square, and a lovely courtyard. Would highly recommend!

The location of the cottage is great. Easy to get to ferries, right in the center of Menaggio and quiet. It was easy to settle into a rhythm of visiting the bakery to pick up breakfast, going to the meat market for picnic items, hopping a ferry to a villa or garden. Later we'd find great places to eat nearby or in Bellagio. Beds were comfortable, shower was hot, laundry was easy, patio was sunny and easy to lounge on. Our four night stay was the perfect end to our vacation.

The property is in an excellent location just on the main front of Menaggio. We travelled with two young children and had no difficulty moving around with the buggy. The loft itself is beautifully decorated and is well equipped, spacious, airy and modern. The outside space is excellent and the toys in the apartment were much appreciated by the kids! The only negative I have is that an air conditioning unit would be useful as it did get quite hot and the only relief was a fan.

Marvellous in every way, very secure, private parking, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, great out door space for lazy morning breakfast( we had lovely weather), perfect location for exploring lake Como, and last but not least the host was lovely and extremely accommodating, if we return to this beautiful part of the world or should I say when we return the "lovely loft" would be our first choice!!

I loved staying in this roomy apartment. It was the perfect size for the 4 of us and convenient to walk to cafes and restaurants or to the ferry. The only issue we had during our stay was with the wifi, it often didn't work or we would get it to work and then have it disappear. Other than that it was a perfect place to stay.

It was our second time in the loft-We stayed there 4 years ago with our 2year old son and decided to visit lake Como again this year. We didn't hesitate to book this great loft again! Clean, modern, a big terasse (great for the children to play while the parents drink their morning coffee in the sun!) and as soon as you leave the apartment you find yourself on one of the nicest places in lake Como. The children rode their push bikes along the lake every day. Our Au pair from Australia who came with us couldn't believe she was in a true landscape-I had to tell her twice a day that she was not dreaming... 😉. Definitely go for the "lovely loft" - an absolute great place to spend your holidays!!! Also the owner Guido is very nice, easy to reach and very helpful (and speaks English very well!).

Laura and her family were very attentive, responsive, and fantastic hosts! They were accommodating to our schedule, and even purchased 2 bottles of wine for us on our arrival from a long journey. The 2 bedroom, open, airy (vaulted ceiling), and contemporary apartment was located in a well-maintained building, in a central location near the waterfront, central square, ferry dock, and numerous amenities. In addition, the apartment has a large and lovely courtyard , perfect for relaxing with your travel companions. It was an ideal apartment for our party of 5, with a great kitchen, full-size bathroom, and nice living room with a large pull out couch as well. A well-designed apartment, located in a great location, perfectly suited for families and friends. Thank you Laura and family for providing such lovely accommodations! We loved Menaggio and our stay on Lake Como!

A group of 6 of us, including 2 teenagers, stayed here for 3 nights in June and we loved it. We took a late train and arrived after the last ferry to Menaggio, but Laura and Guido met us in their cars at a different village and delivered us to this fabulous apartment. It was bright and clean, very well-appointed and secure and the location was perfect. Menaggio is a beautiful town and the ferry dock is close by to hop over to Vernazza or Bellagio or other spots. The teenagers enjoyed the lido and we all liked the shops, restaurants and gelato. The owners were very helpful and responsive when we had questions. Would come back here in a heartbeat!

This is a great apartment for a family with slightly older children. Our two teenage boys were happy to share the upstairs bedroom and we all enjoyed the spacious living area and terrace. There's not really a view from the terrace, but you are so near to the centre of the the beautiful town of Menaggio that you can just stroll out along the lakeside and enjoy the beautiful views there. We had travelled by train but didn't need a car as shops and restaurants are very close by. We enjoyed travelling by bus to Lugano in Switzerland and also up into the hills above Menaggio. The apartment is really well equipped and provides everything needed for a great self-catering holiday! Highly recommended!

We stayed here early July 2011 and could not fault it. The number one benefit of the accommodation is the location - it is in central Menaggio, yet quiet and has the benefit of outside space too! It is literally a one minute stroll to shops, cafes and restaurants in the delightful Menaggio town square, and about a two minute walk to the ferry stop (very useful indeed). There is also private parking for your hire car should you require it - fantastic. The apartment itself was pristine and delightful. The outside terrace was much more than we bargained for and it was lovely to sit out with breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening and get some sun. I would recommend both the apartment and the town to anyone looking to stay in Lake Como. You will definitely not regret it! We were thrilled we had chosen Menaggio as, having visited most of the other towns on the lake, we think it offers the best of all worlds, with plenty of lovely restaurants and cafes etc but is not overwhelmed by tourists like Bellagio can tend to be. Varenna is beautiful but very quiet (too quiet for us) so we were delighted with our choice. It is also a bonus having the tourist information office in the town square. (I would recommend the icecream in the town square - amazing!) The welcome we received from our hosts was also fantastic (very good English spoken) and they were able to tell us where the nearest supermarket was etc which was very helpful. All in all, a perfect holiday - thank you so much.

We had a fantastic holiday at this excellent apartment. We easily fitted into this open plan arrangement with our 2 teenage children (16 & 13). The apartment is very clean, modern, well maintained and has all the facilites we needed. The location of the apartment is very close to the centre of town and everything required is well within walking distance. Numerous restaurants are close by or within short drive if you wanted to explore further afield. The apartment is only about 150m from the ferry terminal with regular ferries to all parts of lake Como. We visited both Bellagio and Varenna which were really nice. It was convienent having personal and gated parking space with the apartment so that we had no hastle parking and could therefore use our car to explore Como area and southern Switzerland. We took Manissimo's advice (Laura's brother in law) and took a trip to Refugio Menaggio. This is a fantastic viewpoint over Lake Como and further views over Lake Lugano also. This involved catching a bus to Breglia (7km from Menaggio and height 752m) then walking via well signposted route through forests and fields to the Refugio (height 1383m). It was a hot day when we did it but it was well worth it. Laura was very friendly and helpful to us we and we would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone wishing a relaxed holiday base in the western Italian lakes.

We have just returned from a weeks stay in this apartment in Menaggio and we had a lovely time. We were a aparty of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The apartment was as described, very spacious and modern with a large patio area which gets plenty of sun in the morning and afternoon. The property is ideally located just a few minutes from the bus stop, town centre and boat ferry. We were met by the property owner who was on hand to give us advice and help throughout our stay. Overall I would highly reccomend this property.

I have just returned from Menaggio after a week's holiday. I want to thank my Lucky stars for staying in this beautifully, modern and very comfortable apartment, located next to the town’s central square. Besides, I was impressed with the great hospitality and help given by Laura and Guido during my stay. Menaggio is easily accessible by public transport and in my opinion it’s the ideal place were to relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery.

The apartment is wonderful; spacious, clean and furnished to a high standard. We spent a week there and can't really fault it. It's right in the centre of Menaggio with all the shops, cafes and restaurants only a minutes walk away, however it's location allows you to have a peaceful night in sipping wine on the spacious terrace. We can't recommend it enough, if you are looking to holiday on lake Como this is an ideal base to explore the area.

We stayed here for a week at easter and had a lovely time. The apartment exceeded our expectations and was spacious, modern, well furnished and very clean. The apartment owners were very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable and were extremely helpful with some good recommendations and advice. Laura also speaks very good English. One key advantage that became apparent as the week unfolded is the secure parking space adjacent to the apartment for guests use only. Parking in Menaggio centre can be difficult and it was a real bonus to know that you could return from a day's site-seeing without the hassle of then having to search for a parking space. The apartment is very close to the lake front and pretty harbour (about thirty metres) and a short walk to the main piazza and promenade (which are both equally picturesque). A good selection of restaurants to suit all budgets can be found nearby and the main landing stage for the regular ferries which cross the lake is only about five minutes walk. The local tourist office in the square is very well organised and has internet access should you need it whilst away. Menaggio turned out to be an excellent base for exploring the lake and surrounding area. There are regular ferries to Bellagio and Varenna and you are located on the same side of the lake as a number of the key sights (Villa Carlotta etc). There are also a number of good walks for all abilities from Menaggio with breath-taking views. It is an easy half hour jouney from Menaggio across the mountains to Switzerland and Lake Lugano (something we did a couple of times). A little further afield we visited Locarno on Lake Maggiore and we also took a ride up from Tirano to St Moritz on the Bernina Pass railway (amazing scenery). Milan can also be reached relatively easily by a short ferry across the water to Varenna then a local train straight into Milan centre. If you do not have a car then public transport is very good (we ended up using bus/train/ferry even though we had a hire car) and Menaggio itself was a wonderful town in which to spend a week being very relaxing, peaceful and beautiful. We loved Menaggio and all that it has to offer and the apartment put simply, was one of the best we have stayed in. We hope to return one day soon.
