De eigenaar is erg behulpzaam en aardig! We hadden een ruime plek voor onszelf. De accomodatie is gezellig aangekleed.

Very nice host, always shared tips and spots worth visiting. Room also had multiple fans to keep on at night.
The amount was simply too much for what was offered. The fridge in our room didn’t work at all and the normal one was too warm. Our room was also not very clean and there were no real windows but only mosquito nets. Location was 15 minutes away from the town and closeby playa negra was not a beach you could lie on due to the tides.

The communal area was always nice and clean. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Big room, good location. Everything nice and clean. Nice host.
Kitchen equipment and fridges could have been better.

We arrived late and the owners were lovely and stayed up for us to arrive, as well as ordering cabs for us in the morning. The room was great for the number of people we were with, with our own kitchen equipment, as well as a shared kitchen outside. We only stayed for one night but you could stay for a while with all the facilities.
It was great for our purposes - it’s about a 10-15 minute walk into town, but in the day and in a group was absolutely fine

Everything good & spacious. Very friendly, Only Wifi good be better! But its a very good and pleasant stay there! Thanks!

I really liked the fact that it is a small hotel with a very caribbean feelling, no luxuries but clean enough.
The location was perfect as it is located outside Puerto Viejo but just 15 min away (walking distance) from the main center where all the bars, restaurants and cafes are located.
If you are expecting luxury this is not the hotel for you. It is a very rural hotel but with a very clean, safe and relaxing atmosphere.

Calm location and a short walk to the beach. The owner was super helpful and the facilities were a nice thing to have! Very spacious :)
Tuk tuks to the city centre are 2000 colones from here, 3000 to the jaguar rescue.

Nice apartment with everything you need. It's good and not expensive place to stay in Puerto Viejo. 10 minutes walk to the centre but very enjoyable as you can walk along the beach. Small kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals.

Cute little place with the most kind and helpful hosts :) Loved the cozy outdoor common area, the little book corner and the sweet cat Linda ❤️ It’s pretty close to the city center - you can walk, bike or take a tuk-tuk when it gets dark. The walk with the black beach is really pretty too 😊

Great host. Very helpful and informative.
The showers can run too hot(but that’s an issue with over head water containers, also at other places)

The apartment had more than enough space for a couple – we only used the downstairs area and that alone was very spacious. The bed was comfortable and there was enough furniture to lay out your things. The kitchenette was minimally equipped but enough for us to prepare three meals a day. We took advantage of the laundry service, which was really good – lovely smelling clean clothes. Bike rental onsite was very useful and affordable, though the bikes were on the rusty side (really comfy seats though). The location was perfect for us – set well back off the main road so quiet, but walking distance from a mini market, the bus stop and the gorgeous Playa Negra.
There's no sink in the apartment's kitchenette so you have to take your dirty dishes to the shared outside kitchen to wash them there instead. The washing sponge was in a dreadful state – old, dirty and falling apart. It really should be changed.

The host was polite. The property was fenced. They sell large bottles of water, so you can purchase water to flush the commode. Besides, for only $150 per night, who actually expects to be able to flush the commode, or be able to shower?
The property didn't have water. There was a water heater in the shower. However, on the occasions when the property did have water, the water flow was so minimal that the safety features didn't allow the water heater to activate. Nothing like not having water to flush commode. Also, the bed was the worse bed I have encountered in Central America. I have been travelling to Central America for over 30 years. I've visited every country in Central America other than Belize. This was the worse mattress... EVER! Worse than hostels in El Salvator in 1992! There was one continuous "S-shaped" piece of metal extending from one side of the bed to the other. The cloth outer-covering over this metal was very thin. There was ZERO padding of any kind on this "mattress". Only a thin cloth outer-cover over metal. I attempted to sleep on this bed by placing a yoga mat upon it. It was still impossible for me to sleep. I purchased additional yoga mats, and I slept on the floor upon 2 of these yoga mats the second night. The fence around the property was nice, but practically useless. There is a large opening beside the lock on the door. When we were returning from the closest beach, one of the children just reached thru opening to unlock door. Beach is not close. The road to beach does have a couple of streetlights. However, only part of them work, and they often turn off suddenly. Apparently randomly? I'm aware that sometimes the water supply can be intermittent. However, the property had a TINY elevated water tank. Simply purchasing a larger water tank would help mitigate this issue.

Nice accommodation very spacious, in the outside a nice patio area w kitchen, sofa, the property are in a very quiet area in the evening, just 15min to the town centre, less than 10 to the closest beach 😎
Not a dislike but I would suggest this place especially for couples or family

it was very calm and far from the road and the center so you didn’t hear the heavy traffic from puerto viejo (trucks, motorcycles, etc). it’s a 15 minute walk from the hostel to downtown so consider that. you can rent bikes in the same hostel for 3.000 colones which is very cheap. Carlos, the owner it’s very friendly and will help you in any thing you ask him, the kitchen is clean and the rooms are simple but clean. you can hear all the birds singing in the morning and if you are lucky see some monkey too. there is a mini market very close so you don’t have to go to downtown every time you need to buy something, totally recommended!

The location near the ocean off the main road. The birds and trees in the area.

maybe that we didn’t have enough toilette paper, but all the rest amazing.

The owner was nice, the kitchen well equipped and we had use of the outdoor one as well. We borrowed a tub and were able to hand wash our beach clothes and hang them to dry. It felt really safe. The hammocks are dangerously comfortable after a long day in the sun, you won't want to get up!
The water situation is beyond the owner's control, but he did what he could. Def take showers in the morning when the pressure is best and fill any bottles you have for the evening.

Lots of space in the apartment. Owner was very nice. It was clean.
Kitchen items can be updated, like the pans and knives. It is quite a walk to town. But you can rent bikes. Bed was not really comfortable

Nice place to stay. Big rooms fridge inside, many things in the small kitchen inside plus an open kitchen in well organized open space. Would stay there again
Only on hot days the lack of airconditioning could be hard to handle

Such a cute hotel, definitely one of my favorite places I’ve stayed while in Costa Rica. The rooms were so cute and well stocked. Fans were provided and everything was just really great! The owner is so nice and chill. There were bikes to rent which was so nice to get to town. Overall great experience.
