Heerlijk verblijf op een prachtige en rustige locatie

Op een prachtige en rustige locatie runnen Pat en Manon Ataraxia. Ze doen alles om het je naar je zin te maken. Ik kreeg zelfs een gratis upgrade naar een huisje met zeezicht, aan de rand van het bos. Ondanks de feesten ‘s nachts in Bocas Town hoefde ik mijn oordopjes niet in. Ook was het veilig om alleen de hordeuren te sluiten. De ventilator hield de kamer voldoende koel. Snorkels en kayaks mag je gratis gebruiken en drinkwater gratis tappen. De kok maakt heerlijke maaltijden en desserts. Je krijgt wijn en water bij het avondeten. Vanaf het restaurant kun je leuke kleine hikes maken door het natuurpark. Veel red frogs en vogels. Geen luiaard of kaaiman gespot maar wel een Morpho. Je kunt zowel lopend als met de taxiboot naar Old Bank en Wizard beach en Red Frog beach (met taxiboot ben je er zo) is een aanrader!

Zoals in eerdere reviews vermeld moet je voor de huisjes en restaurant steile trappen beklimmen. Maar daardoor liggen ze dan ook prachtig! Het eten en desserts zijn goed. Maar 25 dollar is echt veel te duur. Omdat ik alleen reisde had ik overdag soms een taxiboot alleen en dan betaal je ongeveer dubbel tarief. Daardoor loont het niet om ergens anders te gaan eten. De Zapatillas boottour (staat los van Ataraxia): met veel stinkende bootjes dolfijnen opjagen, echt heel naar. Daarna met zijn allen snorkelen in prachtig maar zeer beschadigd Coral Bay. Ankers worden gewoon in het koraal gegooid en toeristen springen vaak vanuit de boot op het koraal. Ondanks de regen ging de tour toch door. Iedereen was koud en doorweekt en op Zapatillas kwam daarom niemand de zee uit. En dan moet je het lange stuk nog terugvaren. Als je deze tour toch wit doen, ga alleen bij droog weer. Dan heb je de meeste kans op een (grotendeels) droge dag.

Kleines Paradies im Dschungel

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Sehr nette und aufmerksame Betreiber, die freundlich ihre Unterstützung bei der Tourenplanung etc. angeboten haben, ohne aufdringlich zu wirken. Wassertaxis wurden auf Wunsch umgehend gerufen. Dinner ist unbedingt zu empfehlen, sehr leckere, frisch gekochte Gerichte und es gibt auch jeweils eine vegetarische Variante. Wasser steht den ganzen Tag über kostenlos zur Verfügung. Der Bungalow ist verhältnismäßig groß und sehr sauber. Sehr angenehm ist auch der Deckenventilator, der auf mittlerer Stufe nachts kaum zu hören ist und dennoch genügend zirkuliert. Die Lage in der Natur und der Blick aufs Wasser sind hervorragend. Nettes Detail: im Bungalow liegt ein Fernglas bereit. Mit Hilfe des Besitzers konnte sogar ein Faultier entdeckt werden :)

Keine Kritik, aber vielleicht ein Verbesserungshinweis: uns hat eine gemütliche "Gemeinschaftsfläche" wie eine Terrasse für alle gefehlt. Es gibt zwar oben das Restaurant für Frühstück und Dinner, aber sonst hält man sich dort eher weniger auf. Unten im "Hauptgebäude" gibt es zwar ein Kühlschrank mit Bier und Cola (für faire 2 Doller pro Stück), aber es fehlt dort an netten Sitzgelegenheiten. Dies lediglich als Verbesserungsvorschlag, denn ansonsten haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt!

Endroit magnifique pour se reposer

Tout! Le lieu paisible, l'emplacement dans la jungle, les activités à faire sur place et aux alentours, le petit-déjeuner délicieux. Les hôtes sont aux petits soins, nous avons adoré notre séjour.

À 25 USD, le repas du soir est un peu cher, mais nous sommes sur une île et ils utilisent de bons produits.

Total relax with lots of activitys...😊

Very very hardly recommend, the location is super, the nice jungle walk starts exactly behind of the hotel restaurant (with best views and the 5 stars food). The owners are always there if you need some advice, they have really good prices for the tours, the snorkeling equipment and the kayaks are available for free, very good snorkeling spot, everything very clean. It was very nice to stay in Your place Manon and Pierre, big big hugs to Your Chiquitín😊 Thank you for everything! Monika

Fantastic!

The location is superb, as well as the bungalow we were accommodated in. You're in the midst of nature, but with all the comfort at your disposal. The cleanliness in the room was excellent, the owners very friendly and ready to help anytime with information. Breakfast was tasty, as well as the dinner served each evening at the spectacular restaurant. We also had access to kayaks and SUPs that we could use as we pleased.

Rustige en mooie locatie, super proper, heel lekker inbegrepen ontbijt, goede tips van eigenaars (nog eens bedankt hiervoor Manon en Pierre!). Oog voor detail zoals bijvoorbeeld een boekje in de kamer met informatie.

We were delighted to stay two extra nights for a total of five!

The owners Manon and Pierre are super-welcoming and helpful. Great food served in a magical setting up a hill in the forest . It’s on a large lot that is mostly natural and quiet (except bird song), yet it’s a short boat ride to the surf beaches, bat cave and towns, which Manon is happy to organize for you. I made a mistake in our itinerary and Manon caught it and saved us a bunch of trouble!

No air conditioning was hard at first. It’s off-grid —on solar, and our room had a good fan, and cross-breeze, so fair. The triple room is great value and comfortable, but not very private with blinds open for air flow. We adapted quickly as everyone was respectful.

Überaus gastfreundlicher Aufenthalt inmitten der Natur

Das Ataraxia Resort besticht durch eine enorm gastfreundliche, aufmerksame und familiäre Atmosphäre sowie auch durch gepflegte kleine Häuser in einer wunderschönen Umgebung inmitten der Natur. Manon und Pierre sowie Francis und das weitere Team sind sehr bemüht, den Aufenthalt so einfach und angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Auch wenn man beim Frühstücken kurzentschlossen einen Ausflug buchen möchte, unterstützen sie bei der Organisation. Sie haben tolle Tipps für Aktivitäten und Restaurants. Das Frühstück sowie auch das Abendessen sind ein absoluter Genuss. Das Resort befindet sich auf der Insel Bastimentos und ist nur eine kurze Bootsfahrt von der Isla Colón (Bocas Town) entfernt. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in dieser ruhigen, privaten und naturnahen Umgebung sehr genossen und würden unsere Urlaubstage jederzeit wieder hier verbringen.

Fantastisch!

Die Lage ist unbeschreiblich. Einfach ein Paradies. Zudem sind die Gastgeber sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen ist auch aussergewöhnlich gut dort. Es war ein Super Aufenthalt in Ataraxia.

Inolvidable

Bungalow con vistas al mar increíbles. Lugar con mucha paz. Desayunos y cenas deliciosos. Anfitriones muy amables, te dedican todo el tiempo que haga falta para aconsejarte de los tours que puedes hacer. Recomendable 100%. Sin duda si volviera a Bocas del Toro, me vuelvo a alojar en Ataraxia!

Según de dónde sople el viento se puede oír la música del pueblo.

Un lugar maravilloso

La atención recibida de parte de todo el personal y la ubicación del lugar. Ademas, disponían de una nevera con muchos refrescos y cerveza al alcance de todos por solo un dolar y medio.

El restaurante estaba apartado del alojamiento y la cena es muy temprano. Sin embargo, todos estos pequeños detalles se avisan antes de realizar la reserva por lo que fuimos ya sabiendo esto.

Icredible island holidays

all was perfect! if you want a relaxed and at the same time adventurous island get away this is the place. Pierre and Manon are such nice and caring hosts and make everything possible to make your holidays perfect. they helped us with transportation, had great advise for things to do and make the atmosphere there very cosy and welcoming. free snorkel equipment and kayaks are there for use. on top we had delicious dinners and breakfasts. there is so much love for detail in the bungalows, we even had a pair of binoculars there to use for watching wildlife. thanks so much to the whole crew of Ataraxia that they made our stay there a wonderful time!

The staff were lovely and food nice. Breakfast in the communal dining area was lovely as was dinner. However our rooms were awful. It was unbearably hot, no breeze, fan did not work well. No air con. We asked for an extra fan but it was inadequate. The rooms were not that clean, no hot water. Worst of all the sheets were made of awful sweaty nylon. So made you even hotter . Never get slept so badly in a hotel would advise people to avoid until they get air con and cotton sheets

A slice of paradise! The highlight accomodation of our 5 month trip!

Absolutely stunning accomodation, set right on the water and at the edge of the jungle. Amazing views and tranquil. Pierre and Manon were amazing hosts, super accomodating welcoming and friendly. The room was amazing, everything was perfect and the balcony with hammock was lovely. Breakfast was a welcome bonus and was delicious, dinner was yum and good sized portions. Eco-friendly and they really care for the environment and treat their staff wonderfully well. Wildlife, we saw a sloth, frogs and lots of birds.

Everything was exceptional.

It was a great and relaxing stay in a beautiful place right in the amazing nature of panama

The hosts were really lovely people and the bungalows are a dream. You feel like staying in a big family garden with lots of fun stuff to do, kayaking, snorkelling etc

You have to be aware of staying close to the jungle, so dont be afraid of bugs. (But u can also spot Sloths)

Incredible accommodation

A uniquely beautiful accommodation on the quiet island of Bastimentos. For all those who are looking for peace and quiet it is exactly the right accommodation. Kayak and snorkeling equipment is available, the rooms are spacious, the food takes place in a wonderful atmosphere. Hosts are incredibly friendly, we would come back anytime and highly recommend it.

This was a fantastic place to stay - we loved it.

This place was wonderful. The couple who run it are charming and have done an outstanding job designing and building the bungalows and dining room. The bungalow had a big porch with a panoramic view of the property and the ocean. The dining room did as well. Dinners were available there and were delicious and reasonably priced. Breakfasts were included in the price and were great. It was easy to hike over the hill to the big beaches and the small local town, and they were happy to arrange water taxis. We did a trip to the bat cave which was fantastic. I highly recommend this place!

I think they were going to fix this but the only place to put suitcases and other items was on the floor of the room.

Lovely food, view and wildlife opportunities

Our hosts were very helpful and had great interactions with everyone. They assisted with arrangements of a boating day tour, where to snorkel just off the Ataraxia shore, and contacted a water taxi for us when we departed. The room and mattress were comfortable and everything was super clean. Breakfasts and suppers were tasty (loved the pumpkin risotto and passionfruit cheesecake) plus endless morning coffee from the lovely top of the hill restaurant and yoga deck.

Despite lathering with oil and some bug spray, still got quite a few bites, even during the day, but it was otherwise very pleasant to sit on the deck at the onsite boat launch in the hammock or loungers. The upper cabins will have a much nicer view of the water too.

The place is amazing, it's a real hidden gem in the jungle of Isla Bastimentos. We were hesitant if we should stay at Isla Colon or go to Bastimentos because we didn't know how the transport between the island works, but it's really easy to get there and you can go to the beaches for a couple of dollars. Pierre and Manon were amazing hosts, they helped us with everything we needed and you can see they're doing everything they can fit their guests. The breakfasts and dinners were really tasty. The cabins are well equipped, modern and spacious. We were a bit worried about the lack of hot water but it was completely fine, I think we wouldn't use it even if it was available. All in all, the best place we stayed in during our trip to Panama, go there without any hesitation! Ask for cabin number 5 for the best view.

Place with lovely owners

This accommodation is run by young couple and they are very welcoming and helpful. Loved the fridge with drinks in the house hall where everyone can take what they want and pay later. Free drinking water was also big plus. They call water taxi whenever you need one. Free kayaks and snorkelling gear. Thanks to their recommendation I went to see a bath cave and Red frogs beach. This place is away from noisy, party town but close enough that you don’t miss on it. it’s lovely green space worth the visit.

A beautiful and relaxing stay

Ataraxia was the best place we stayed in Panama. It was so nice, quiet and relaxing. The bungalows are more uphill and in the jungle, with fantastic views. We also had some nice dinners in the restaurant. The transport with watertaxis is easy and you can also walk to Old Banks when the waterlevel is not too high. We borrowed kayaks and went kayaking to Isla Solarte and along the mangroves. Beautiful. The owners Pierre and Manon are so friendly and helpful.
