The grounds were so pretty- lots of plants and flowers! We liked the balcony facing the ocean and easy access to a market, coffee, and restaurants. It was also a nice location to access either the west or north side of the island in a short time.

Loved the resort but unit was disappointing
2.0 / 10.0
Positives-Check in was a breeze.
WIFI in unit.
TV in unit, as others have noted a vertical line on the left side of the screen is distracting.
Grounds upkeep was done daily.
BBQ supplied, but aged.
Negatives...old, dated, warn furniture not as pictured
1. A/C did not work when using the controls for the unit. Management team member came over and turned on a power switch which was hidden from sight. Once on the controls did not increase/decrease speed of the fan nor temperature of the A/C.
2. Sliding door, very difficult to open. Sliding screen door did not function at all. off the track, it needs to have all the rollers replaced probable about a $20 FIX. This has been noted by several entries in the log book in the unit.
3. View from the deck of the ocean can only be seen while standing , table on deck is too low and what you see is the deck railing.
4. Kitchen area amenities were adequate but not sure when the last time everything had been removed snd sanitized. Trash can location is right next to the silverware drawer.
5. Lack of outlets in the unit, use of power strips for additional outlets.
6.We had to call multiple times for clean towels to be delivered by the management company. Also we were in the condo for 10 days and no clean sheets provided
7. Bathtub lacks a hand hold and tub bottom was slick.
8.Front door is very difficult to open.
Others have noted these same conditions in the journal in the unit for years.

This property was beautiful. The landscaping was amazing, the room face the ocean which was only about 30 yards away.
We really enjoyed ours stay here. It's a great location in the middle of the eastern coast. It makes it easy to get to the North shore or the South shore as you explore the island.

Loved this unit 5 yrs ago! This time, chairs are stained, screen door won’t open (spent long distance money calling caretaker but nobody called back), looks like sliding door to lanai had been damaged at lock point, no door on safe as it had been pried off. (Was there a break-in recently???) Chairs on the Lanai are so low, you can’t see over the railing.
Love the location but I wouldn’t stay in 250 again until it’s cleaned up, repairs done, and customer service improves. There were also no beach supplies (boogie boards, umbrella, etc) that many other units provide. Just towels and a very small cooler.
Pick it up several notches!
At the price I paid I am not impressed.

Stayed here twice for 10+ days. Great location on the island. Half way to north and south shores. Convenient Coconut Marketplace right next door.
10.0 / 10.0
Very nice property and quiet. Close to a number of restaurants and shops. The only problem was the patio door. It was almost impossible to open so we ended up not locking it during our stay. I did call it into Vacasa. Other then that everything was good.
8.0 / 10.0
Nice stay, very quiet comfortable clean unit & great location. I would have given it an overall five stars. Except, the shower/tub stall drains very very slowly and we were unable to open the sliding glass door to the lanai, door handle latch jammed. But, minor inconvenience. Issues were reported to local contact for repairs. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the unit., so it didn’t impact us so much. We would return again.

Islander on the Beach #250 is an ocean front unit with an unobstructed view of the ocean.

Perfect! The room was spacious with everything you’d need for exploring the island. We appreciated being able to leave our sliding door open so we could enjoy the sound of the waves. It’s in a quiet area, yet you can walk to numerous shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

Let me start by saying I woulda Ray here again, but the unit did have some minor issues. The bathtub/shower was VERY slow to drain (hours). We were given limited towels for our stay and are not allowed to use the on-site laundry facilities so that was frustrating. The view is great, literally steps from the beach. The grounds are STUNNING. The location in Kapaa across the street from the Coconut Marketplace is very convenient.

First of all the location was perfect. Would definitely stay at Islander on the Beach again, just not this unit - #250. Our problem was that the unit had an over whelming mildew smell. My husband, who is a new construction plumber, said he could clearly see that the air conditioning unit (outside on the lania) was completely rusted out & therefore unable to do its job of removing moisture from the air. I am fairly sure we were the first guests to stay there in several months, due to Covid, so having the unit closed up for a long period of time didn`t help matters. We tried to keep doors open whenever we were in unit and that helped a tiny bit. But any time we opened the door when we returned to the room we were assaulted with the mildew aroma. Unpleasant, and probably not healthy. If that problem were solved, I would stay here again. Great to have beach chairs & towels, small cooler onsite. Cute decor. We used poolside BBQ a couple times. Also we tried to text the rental company contact as the unit had NO internet connection, and the router was flashing bright colors all night like a disco ball, but never received any response.

Loved this condo, the location and especially the view! Couldnt have asked for a better studio to stay for eight days. Clean, stocked, comfortable, with easy parking and access to restaurants, and shopping, this place was great. But, the best part is the lanai and the amazing view. I spent every morning watching the sun rise and enjoying the breeze and the lull of the ocean waves. True relaxation. The surf out front can be rough, but there are plenty of opportunities close by. This place provides everything needed for a lovely stay.

It was our first time to Kauai and this place was perfect! Very centrally located and within walking distance to the Coconut Marketplace with restaurants, shops and even some Hawaiian performances. Of course the ocean views & sunrises/sunsets were amazing! Would definitely stay again!

This listing is part of a resort that includes hotel rooms and additional condos that are rented out through them. Islander 250 made us feel VIP, knowing we got a great rate and had one of the best seats in the house! REMEMBER: Upkeep is not through the resort (but they are very accommodating) it is through Hula Now. Minor upkeep issues, short on a couple towels, worn screen, felt a bit stale, but we’ll worth it. Location is excellent for people looking to explore north and south.

Second time we`ve stayed at the Ashton Islander. We love the central location on the Island, allowing you to explore either the North or South shore with a shorter drive, or stay local in Kapaa. The property is clean and well maintained. We love the tiki bar after dinner at Lava Lava. Decided to get a room closer to the water and 250 fit the bill. Nice ocean breeze at night to enjoy the sound of the surf. Check in and out were very simple, room was simple but clean with everything you need for your stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Very easy to access, ocean front unit is on second floor so it is private though people walk by they are walking by below your lanai. Great view. Nice unit. I was there for business and personal. Unfortunately the internet and cable did not work. Other than that I had a great stay. How couldn’t you? It’s Kauai.

This little (and I mean small) rental was perfect for our first trip to Kauai (cons below, but first pros). It’s location in Kapaa puts it right in the middle of the island to visit either shore and the surrounding food and stores available are very convenient. Walmart is only a 15 min drive, there is a market (think upgraded ABC store) right there in the parking lot with great coffee and boba at the coconut market place, Waimea is a 1 hour drive, Hanalei is a 1 hour drive, airport and harbor maybe 10-15min, Wailua river just a stones throw down the street and lots of other places to eat. The grounds are really nice, right on a beach you can actually swim in, clean pool and jacuzzi with a decent little cocktail bar, but the room itself is get what you pay for. 1/2Fridge (no freezer), very comfy bed, shower, AC and tv/cable and a balcony overlooking the water. Some cups, coffee pot, silverware, best of all some tommybahama beach chairs and a beach umbrella. The biggest cons were the lack of amenities in the room, and the floors were disgusting. So much sand and dirt. Think they were never cleaned in between rentals and we walked in to a pile of dirty linens in the front hallway left by whoever started the job. I will also say that using VRBO instead of the condo/hotel for booking means you’re using the same couple of towels which would get gross fast if you stayed too long. There were only 4 shower towels and 2 beach towels so we bought some $1 ones at Walmart to last the trip because when I called the cleaning service provided they said there would be extra fees for new towels/linens. No washer dryer on site either and the front desk won’t give you any since you didn’t use them to book. Figures.Overall: Use this if you need a place to clean up and sleep while you spend all your time out and about on the island or the pool but you shouldn’t expect too much with the room itself. Location and price were prime for us, b

Great condo with an ocean view from the balcony! Big comfy bed! Clean and on the 2nd floor. Beautiful complex, conveniently located to stores, restaurants and the 4-mile biking path along the coast! Pool, hot tub and pool bar steps from the condo. The hot tub is ALWAYS full sadly. The only thing lacking were beach chairs...others had written about the lovely beach chairs in this condo, but we had none. It also didn`t have a freezer in the small dorm-sized fridge, which would be nice. But check in was easy and we felt very safe! The AC worked great!

This place was a great fit for my partner and I. We ate most meals overlooking the ocean from the lanai. There are lots of good options for restaurants and coffee within walking distance from the room and even more with a bicycle or car. And there are basic appliances in the room... coffee maker, blender, microwave, etc. as well as Grill’s located at the pool. The room is located in a hotel with rustic charm, but is privately owned/managed. The pool is pretty small, but we found the ocean perfect for swimming. Only minor complaint is that we could not ever get the wifi or TV to work, but we did not miss it with an ocean view and the sound of the waves.

We really enjoyed our stay in this room. It is accurately described in the ad, very clean and comfortable. Communication with the management company was good and professional. The location is outstanding, with great restaurants and stores for supplies. Our favorite restaurant was the Lava Lava Beach Club, it`s a very short walk from the room. The pool area/bar is nice with a hot tub and a good happy hour. The views and distance to the beach are amazing! We would definitely stay here again.

After a long travel we wanted somewhere easy to stay, with a kid who is unsure about literally everything, the beach view with my morning coffee was great and there is a great area for walking a shopping a stones throw away. Cozy spot for the three of us, not sure if you want many more in that space, but just right for us.

We had a wonderful time here , next time perhaps more than 3 days
This is somewhere we would love to revisit.
We had access to many wonderful things from this terrific place.
We loved the location. and the ambiance
One item you should address is is the extension cords for bed side lighting. Extension cords are a temporary fix not a permanent one. The bathtub drain did'nt work when we tried it , the lever to raise and lower the plug is somehow disconnected and the stopper does not move as designed. These are easy items to address. The amenities were nice, coffee pot, wifi, entrance code, parking. We look forward to returning. This was our first ever VRBO experience so you have established a very positive starting place.in our hearts experience!
We look forward to another visit here.
Please include us in your emails for any announcements.
Thank You
God Bless You

Great oceanfront location with beautiful views. The unit is somewhat aged, but still nice. The AC was broken upon check—in and wasn’t fixed until 10 pm that evening which was frustrating. There are many restaurants, grocery, and shopping just steps outside door, including wonderful restaurant on the beach next door.
