We really enjoyed the size of the home. The location is great-seems like a nice neighborhood and close to shopping and Legoland/the beach. Lovely views and huge yard. The owner was responsive and kindly let us check in a bit early, which was really appreciated with 4 kids in tow.
That said, we had several concerns. The accuracy of the listing: Bedroom setup was different than pictured (3 beds instead of 4 in the bunk room, a bunkbed instead of a queen bed in another). The hot tub listed was nonfunctional (and clearly had been for some time). We booked in part due to these things, so were really disappointed with the discovery. There were several minor annoyances, which wouldn’t have bothered us but taken with everything else added frustration- e.g. the pots/pans were severely used and flaking nonstick coating (unsafe for use) and at least 2 of the tv’s were impossible to use (one remote had been programmed by someone, but it made no sense and we gave up after 15 min of trying). The biggest issue, though, was the cleanliness. One shower had mold/mildew growing, the carpets were badly in need of shampooing (stains everywhere!) and the home really needs a deep clean- there were cobwebs in several locations, walls were visibly dirty, splatters were all over the kitchen ceiling, it looked like the home hadn’t been vacuumed/mopped, and there was a stale odor throughout.
The home has the potential to be amazing, but as is unfortunately we can’t recommend it due to the above.

We were happy to have a location where all of family could stay together without being on top of each other. The residence offered a lot of space for each member of our extended family-14 total.

Great space for a large group.

Only a few of our family members were able to stay in the house due to a family emergency. They said they were really happy with the house and Andrew was great - very responsive! Thanks Andrew.

very roomy - lots of sleeping space. Only negative was the window in the front room - was not clean or clear.

In town for a wedding at Leo Carrillo in Carlsbad. This allowed 18 members of our extended family to be together and under one roof for the weekend. Plenty of space, clean and comfortable place, easy freeway access and proximity to shopping, etc. Loved it!

Andrew was an amazing host. He kept in constant contact prior to our stay. The home was the right size for our group of 12. Oceanside, Escondido, and San Diego were just minutes away. I would definitely stay here again.

House was big and practical and mostly suited our needs with ample kitchens and bedding and a nice balcony. The carpet had stains and needed cleaning. Unfortunately, contrary to the listed amenities, the hot tub was disappointingly disassembled. This had been an important factor in our decision to rent the property and we were not informed of its condition. Also, the landscape was unkempt with prickly bushes, leaves, branches, thorns strewn about..and bugs! Part of the fence was collapsed in the backyard so we didnt feel secure with letting the youngers play alone. The playground equipment was very worn and somewhat unstable. Overall, we felt the price we paid was too high for what we thought we were getting.

Home was perfect for our multi family visit (7 adults, 9 teens) and priced well below all other options. Host was prompt with answers to any questions and incredibly accommodating to help us with anything we needed.

Our group was in the area to compete in Rave Across America. House and location were great.

We stayed here with 19 people in our extended family group for my daughter's wedding in San Diego. It was close enough to do all the fun activities in the area, like the San Diego Zoo, beaches, Old Town, etc. We had plenty of space in the large house and plenty of beds for everyone!! Check-in was super easy. If we are down that way again, we would definitely stay here again! Thanks, Andy!

Very confortable home. Awesome property manager. Wish we could have had more time to enjoy the house.

Good large house for extended family (we had 17, ranging from 1 yr. to 68 yrs.); good comfortable beds; lots of towels; clean commodious bathrooms; plenty of kitchen space; lots of outdoor space and parking. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of the outdoor amenities. Over-all, a very good trouble free, enjoyable experience.
