Welcome to our historic inn! This historic home, built by original Green Mountain Boy Samuel Safford in 1774, combines the beauty, charm, and décor of old-fashioned homes, with the comfort and amenities of modern living. New updates include bar room, a game room, and a hot tub. The home boasts 6 bedrooms, many of which also have private bathrooms. There are several gathering areas, which makes this home perfect for hosting large events such as family gatherings! Our large kitchen is fully functional with all major appliances and even contains an industrial sink; however the kitchen is not as polished as the rest of the home. Though much of the home has been updated, care was taken to preserve much of the wood work that was done in the original construction. We guarantee, the detail in the original work will astound you!
Our home is perfect for a ski trip! We are within an hour's drive from many world-class ski resorts including Mt. Snow, Stratton Mountain, and Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort. Our home also has several electric fireplaces, providing a cozy, comfortable atmosphere to come home to. After a day on the slopes, come back and enjoy our 8 person hot tub!

There's also a fabulous restaurant, The Miller's Toll, right next to the house. We definitely recommend you make a reservation at this restaurant before your stay!

We had 15 members of my family in this old house. Another 5 at another VRBO , and 4 others that joined us all day Saturday. Good weather and the annual recognition of the Battle of Bennington was a wonderful surprise
The house needs many repairs. The kitchen was a big disappointment

Loved our stay in Bennington, Vermont! The inn had beautiful woodwork in the living room and the side family room and we really enjoyed playing games there and having wonderful talks!
Walking distance to town and coffee shops made this one of our favorite vacations. Thank you!

House was perfect for our family to gather and celebrate my son’s graduation from Bennington. Sean was very quick to respond to questions.

We had a great weekend here celebrating a friend's birthday. There were tons of beds, lots to do in the house, lots of things to do nearby, and communication with the host was prompt and great throughout our time there. I would highly recommend.

The property is situated in a great location within town. You can walk to several convenience stores and restaurants. Also a short walk to a playground right behind the property. Nice big yard set far enough back from the street to be private. The property is a converted BNB, so expect it to feel that way. Lots of space for people to spread out yet big enough common areas to come together. The bar room was great to gather in the evening. Note that the kitchen is pretty spartan; it's designed as a "service" kitchen right off of the bar room.

The house is large, used to be a real BnB before. Has a lot of things to do inside and outside of the house.

16 members of our family came together to celebrate our Mom’s 80th birthday. This house in Bennington was classic history with modern conveniences. It is huge with big comfortable gathering spaces many bedrooms (with private baths). It was quiet, a houseful of people and in your bedrooms there was absolutely no noise. This incredible historic house is in walking distance to quaint downtown Bennington with its many shops and eateries. We had a wonderful time. Check in and check out so easy. Amazing accommodations led to an unforgettable vacation!

I, along with 11 girlfriends, comfortably stayed at this gorgeous historical home for the weekend. And Bennington, VT did not dissapoint!
Perfectly close to downtown to walk in the morning for coffee, bagel sandwiches, antiques, and we even caught a food truck festival.
**"The Local" had amazingggg honey cinnamon creamed cheese amongst others, best cream cheese bagel I've ever had.
Almost every room had its own beautiful bathroom which made everyone's stay so comfortable. Rooms were so quiet when doors shut. Beautiful yard and firepit, along with grill and kitchen access made for memories of group dinners and endless laughs. We can't wait to come back and do it again. Thank you for a safe, clean, and professional rental! It truly felt like home away from home for the weekend. :)

My friends and I stayed at the property for a weekend and the house and outdoor space were fantastic (and larger than expected). Vermont is beautiful in the summer and this house didn’t disappoint. The layout worked really well for everyone to have their own rooms/bathrooms and also space for the whole group (12) to gather comfortably. We enjoyed using the bar room for meals, the sun room, game room, and fire pit. The proximity to town and activities was an added bonus as we could walk to local restaurants. Every accommodation was thought of and it was perfect for our group. The Property Manager was super helpful and communicated well before/during/after our stay. Would definitely book the property again!
