We stayed at the Cowboy cabin at Bucking Moose during our winter cross country skiing trip. We loved everything about our stay. The cabin has everything needed for a self – supported, comfortable stay. It is close to everything, including supermarkets, restaurants, and cross country skiing trails.

What a perfect cabin for our group of eight women! We had traveled to the area to do a cross country skiing trip with Yellowstone Expeditions!! (highly recommend as well) The cowboy cabin fit us perfectly. You walk into the main level where all the common space is (kitchen, dining room, living room area) then four of us slept downstairs, and four of us slept upstairs. Three of the beds were shared beds, and then two were singles. Bathroom on each level. Very convenient to have the half bath in the kitchen with all the people we had. Great little walkable town, and the cowboy cabin was situated perfectly for that. The temperature of the cabin was very comfortable, despite the frigid weather outside. Each level had its own heating system, brilliant! We used the washer and dryer a couple times. Only issue is you have to tape down the “on” button for the dryer to stay on. Luckily, we had brought tape ;-) My only complaint of the place, if that is one. Maybe that’ll get fixed soon. I would highly recommend this place to a big group, we fit in it very comfortably.

This location is centrally located in town. It is a cute cabin with a lot of space when compared to the bed ratio. Would definitely consider booking this place again if in the neighborhood.

Worked for us.

This is a great place to stay. Plenty of room and can accommodate 8 - 10 people comfortably. From the cabin, you can walk anywhere in town!! There were issues with the dishwasher which were reported but never completely resolved. Overall, a wonderful experience!!

This was a great location to the town but there were issues with the cabin. There is a problem with the downstairs toilet (not mounted to the floor). I reached out to the property management and never heard anything back. The downstairs closest floor carpet was also very wet (not sure why). The commutation up to the stay was okay.
They did email me back before we came. Not a bad place just disappointed in some things for the price we paid. The internet is very poor. We couldn't even watch a movie at night. There was also a leak under the kitchen sick and they fixed it with a bowl catching the water. Maybe that's why the downstairs closet was wet?

We loved this cabin! It’s very close to the West Entrance and all of downtown West Yellowstone. Very tastefully decorated and plenty of room for a large group. With 3 floors, there is ample space for an entire family to stay on each level. Not much parking but I think there was availability behind the property for more. All the amenities you need, and check in/out was very easy. Would definitely recommend!

Kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner and breakfast. Easy to walk 2 blocks to grocery store. Was hot but we had good fans that kept the room cool

1. 1/2.5 baths did not work. We were only made aware of this 1 week before out stay (even though work was ongoing for the last 2-3 months per management). They waited till the last moment to inform us, which meant we couldn't find an alternate arrangement. In all fairness, they offered us a 25% discount, however my preference would have been for them to be honest and upfront about this.
2. Communications
2i. It was hard to get in contract with the property management (Hawkeye) for issues with out stay. Multiple phone calls and voicemails went unanswered during the day and I had to keep trying throughout the day in an area w/o much network which was stressful for a vacation.
2ii. Finally when I reached them, I was met with passive aggressive comments around how the toilet has never clogged before, even through there were signs not to dump feminine products (which clearly indicates something of that sort has happened previously) - obviously we didn't do any of that, but I didn't appreciate that tone from a service rep/their management. In any case, they refused to send help, which meant we (10 of us in total) were stuck with just 1 full bath for the rest of our trip.
3. Check in process
It was difficult to identify which cabin was ours. It was called "Cowboy Cabin" in all of the comms however, there were no signs or indications.
4. Washer and Dryer
- The washer and dryer did not work which by itself wasn't a biggie but they weren't upfront about it until one week before the stay.
