loved the quirkiness of the place, very unique and perfect for a little getaway!
Sadly signal was no good with the Internet but that could have been down to the bad weather also.

It’s unique and brilliantly thought out!
It has everything you need in a converted water pumping station!
So impressed
Nothing

It was absolutely amazingThe from the town centre
Nothing, I loved everything

As the description states - it's quirky. Ryan has clearly has worked very hard to provide a unique and memorable stay in a small space with a fascinating history. Communication was excellent and very welcoming, easy to find and 10 minutes walk into town and seafront.
Ryan has been very upfront about the limitations of the accommodation in his description here, and I'd strongly urge you to read that before booking. We are short guys and we are used to living in motorhomes and the space is akin to that kind of living. The dripping roof is an issue (even with the heating on and fans going as advised by host) but as I say Ryan is upfront that this isn't a hotel and the price reflects the unique property/comfort.

Unique

We laughed when we saw what we had got ourselves into.
Without going into detail, if you decide on this place to stay, do not have any mobility issues, if you are over 6ft tall think twice, the floors can become slippery especially the bathroom, if you are a little large you may have trouble accessing the bathroom and toilet through a very narrow door, there is only a microwave fridge and electric kettle, so not too many options for cooking your own meals, and finally parking is not necessarily available as described, it may be in the nearby street if you are lucky enough to find a spot.

It’s is small but it is cozy and you feel comfortable in there
The shower was just a little too small
3.8
Quirky n different
Damp smell on way in, Drips overhead whilst cooking.. (maybe because of damp in the ceiling) had to clean it up with toilet paper as it dripped all over the side n on to some food, we had a bad stomachs' wont be back but thanks was a different experience

I loved the uniqueness of the property.
The location is very good.
It was like clamping in town
Tv reception, but I minor point.

We have just left after spending 5 days in penzance and this little quaint hobbit house. If you want something different and you're bored of the same holiday stays, then I highly recommend this!! It's very quirky and very close to town too with a nice pub round the corner that serves good food. What a good way of using something that would probably just rot away if not, been. Converted..
Was a little small, especially for my husband, who is nearly .6ft.

Was something different and quirky like it says an experience stayed for a couple of nights while exploring Cornwall
Just the wi fi didn't work to gud and maybe couple more pillows for the bed other than that great stay

it waa an experience and a bit of fun place to stay.
The entrance was orginal and from outside just looks like a hole in the wall.
Easy access to penzence.
Bigger shower room door.

Location was great and it was a good price.
Overall it was much smaller that what it looks like in the pictures.
The atmosphere in the room was dump and the ceiling was actually dripping.
The bathroom was both too narrow and low.
3.8
Very different and in a great spot!
WiFi was not great

The reviews were good
Sadly, the place just didn't suit us. It was perfectly clean and well presented, but lack of space was a real problem for us, so we chose to stay elsewhere,
3.8
Reasonably good value for money for an overnight stay
A bit too small, particularly the bathroom
3.8
Good crash pad but bathroom access chalenging
3.8
Cosy, clever use of space. Be careful lowering bed as it's heavy! Good location for buses, prom and town. Ryan the host very friendly, helpful and great local knowledge, he even provides quirky slippers! Nearest pub with food Pirate Inn, turn right 5 mins walk. We stayed 3 nights and are really keen to come back. Loved the place.
Nothing not to iike although a 6ft 2 rugby prop might struggle with bathroom ! Basic kitchen stuff, who needs 3 course meal on holiday? Take own tea, coffee etc. Not for you if you are looking for 5 star luxury but we loved it and look forward to coming back.

The property is excellently appointed. Easy to find in a central location.
It is excellent if you are 5ft 4inches, slim and young but unusable if you are a portly 6ft creaky 67 year old.
3.8
The location as expected. The water pumping station had been cleverly converted.
Due to the size difficult to change facilities - bathroom difficult to get into. Kitchen facilities poor - eg. fridge tiny.

Location
It's built for hobbits
3.8
very quirky
a little on the small side.
3.8
Very Quirky which we like.
Location was great close enough to walk down to the seafront and restaurants .
Fully equipped kitchen with ever you need .
Toilet is difficult to get in and out of.
3.8
Unforgettable.
I need to lose a few pounds to enter the bathroom.
3.8
Very convenient for my stay, as had no transport. Place was well equipped, very clean, good value for money.
People are very curious and stop to look through the front door, a curtain might be worth adding? However there is still privacy and they can't see you as the accommodation is down the stairs.
3.8
Excellent space, so quirky and cosy! We really enjoyed our stay - we didn’t use the wifi much but what we did worked fine. Bed very comfy and such a great use of the space!

I booked this accomodation because I wanted a private room and to be left alone. And that's actually excatly what I got! So it's easy to find and the room is well equipped and of course it's something interesting/fancy. It's a little bit like staying in a museum/bunker. Maybe as a weekend trip?
It's important to read the desciption and the reviews. There are a few negative points. First of all, I think it's too small for a couple unless only for one night. Getting in and out of the bathroom is difficult as it is so small. I am only 164cm and showering was difficult for me. Also the bathroom floor is kind of always wet and there is this issue with the roof/ceiling: a partial area of the ceiling is leaking when it's raining and the floor might get slippery (I actually fell down once) in the kitchen area. So you have to make sure to put your things where the ceiling is ok. The ventilation system is also very loud, but you can switch it off at night. If you still decide to stay here, you have been warned!

The Old Pumping Station is a unique experience. Because of the nature of the accommodation, it initially seems rather cramped, but everything has been thought through superbly. We didn't really use the cooking facilities - too many great fish restaurants in Penzance!- but everything else was excellent. And it was an experience, opening a hdoor in a wall and then climbing down into our own (well fro three nights) private space. How many people walked past, not knowing what was just behind the door? And Ryan's tip about where to put the wireless dongle for best reception was spot-on.
Neither my wife or I are very tall so we managed to get around reasonably well. The bathroom would have been a problem for anyone above six foot I would think. Probably not a good idea for an extended stay either.
3.8
The location, handy for the town centre.
The WiFi signal was pretty poor.
3.8
Good location to town and seafront. Good base for exploring area. Quirky accommodation, different to usual!
3.8
The location was great, just a short walk out of town. The accommodation was very quirky
Because its a listed building, the owners cannot change some things...the roof being one, which dripped continuously, but the worrying thing was it dripped onto the electric hob.
There was no microwave or even a toaster, the only cooking was a 2 ring hob.
3.8
Very quirky, well-equipped accommodation in an unusual location. Renovated and decorated very tastefully. Enough headroom for tall people. Great location for town as well as walks - bus station where the Coaster buses leave from a 15 min walk
The bathroom is tiny and requires some inventiveness to navigate
3.8
Owner. Location. Character. Everything we needed was there
Nothing really although we found the bathroom a bit difficult and were disappointed with the small fridge
3.8
Location was great. Bed was comfortable.
TV no signal. Couldn't fit into bathroom. Ventilation poor and mould.
3.8
lovely magical feel, easy to find and get into and definitely a unique experience
the roof did drip when it rained and we couldn’t get signal on the tv at all.
3.8
Location was excellent - easy to get to town, the beach and amenities and services (station, shops, pubs). Accommodation quirky and definitely memorable. Owner most helpful. Not a lot of space but cleverly laid out. Good heating.
Whilst layout and use of limited space was ingenious, it would be a considerable challenge for tall or ample guests.
3.8
Cute place to stay. Very original but with pretty much all what you need for a few days.
Bed was super comfortable
I would just add a microwave/oven for the kitchen.
3.8
Such a quirky place to stay it was a real adventure! The host was absolutely brilliant he couldn't have been any more helpful.
