Door in the Woods is as advertised! Here this year with our son. The weather was absolutely perfect! Your home is clean, well appointed, in a beautiful area. Nice touches, like the bottle of wine with a welcome note, a bag of ground coffee... thoughtful touches!
We were surprised by the price increase from last year. But we chose it anyway because of our previous experience. There were four of us last year. The house comfortably accommodated four of us. Six could sleep comfortably. Bathroom space might be the only drawback for more than four adults.
We had a delightful time. Communicating with you was simple and friendly.
We give Door in the Woods our highest recommendation. Thank you again!

Nice clean house that was a stones throw from all the fun!

We had a nice weekend. Very spacious. Beds are a little hard. Texted property management on Friday to ask about an iron and ironing board and never got a response. No AC which might have been a problem during warmer weather. But fully stocked with everything you could really need other than an iron and board.

This is a charming cottage in a wooded area north of the downtown area in Sister Bay. When we first entered the property there was a strong burning smell which would be from the fireplace - the chimney perhaps needs to be cleaned. The picture of the property on VRBO made it look like it was very light and bright but it’s pretty dim due to being in a wooded area. The description also said that the property was .3 miles from downtown but my watch said it was .5 to the stop sign and most of downtown was at least a couple blocks further. Our group was made up of 4 female senior citizens and the steps to the loft were steep and the treads are not very deep; the bed in the main floor bedroom is so high that only 1 person in our party was able to use it; there are several throw rugs on the floors which are a tripping hazard for many. The couch is older and sits rather low and soft. The four of us were able to use the table but it would be too small for a larger group.

Love the secluded wooded lot but still close to Sister Bay. Property was clean and well-managed. We will be back!

Property location is walking distance to shops/restaurants in comfy shoes for average fit people. Tucked in a wooded neighborhood. Property has dated furnishings/carpet and hodgepodge of mismatched and old decor. Musty upon walking in. Cozy wood burning fireplace. Couch is very used. Did not use kitchen appliances or charcoal grill. Mattresses not comfy, bed frames creaky. Towel quality and shower / water pressure great. Bathroom exhaust fans are so loud they will wake up anyone sleeping below or in adjacent room. Thought price was high for the accommodations. Check in process and correspondence with owner is excellent.

Excellent location for restaurants and ability to explore the east side of the peninsula. Great layout and it was so quiet …which was amazing and one of the things we go up to DC for. Thank you Micah!

We had a great time in Door Co/Sister Bay! Lots to do in Sister Bay and short drives to Fish Creek, Egg Harbor, and Bailey’s Harbor—all the great Door Co spots. Door in the Woods was very convenient to these places but not walkable to town unless you are avid walkers. Good location with car—very close!! We arrived during a heat wave, temps close to 90 degrees and the lack of AC and room fans made the first night particularly uncomfortable. (There were two portable fans—thank you!— but none for the 3rd bedroom.) Very homey furnishings, but some were quite dated. The pictures online are accurate. Beds very comfortable and VERY CLEAN, crisp linens. Property manager easy to work with and responsive.
This was a good-sized home for our group of three.

The cottage was nicely equipped with most things and is in a lovely area of town so very quiet. It did lack air conditioning and dishwasher and needs some updating. It can get pretty warm in the summer. Overall it was a nice cabin in the woods with plenty of room.

Our stay in Sister Bay was good. The location was convenient and about a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk to the heart of the Sister Bay action. The interior is a bit dated and could use some new soft goods (couch and 2nd Bedroom queen bed come to mind). With a little improvement, it could be an excellent choice for future guests.
Thank you!
