Our Canadian add UK family met here for a much anticipated reunion.
This is a gorgeous property that provided plenty of space for ten adults and six children.
The house is lovely with a well stocked kitchen, lots of comfortable sitting areas, and a great patio where we sat outside for meals and evening chats. The grounds are beautiful and we really enjoyed the big pool. Kate was a lovely, helpful host.
All in all a great stay!

What a wonderful stay for a family with young children. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and Kate was the perfect host. An unknown corner of rural France with lots to visit. We will come again.

Our family had an incredible, memorable stay in the Normandy region, steeped in history, which was based out of Kate’s lovely estate and enriched by her kind facilitation and personal involvement with the welcoming local community. We stayed in the main house, which provided ample private sleeping areas and lovely communal areas for cooking, eating, and socializing (both inside and outside) by our 11 adult family members. The highlight of our stay was meeting with some of the local residents to share remembrances of some poignant experiences from World War II, and Kate went above and beyond to help us make connections and share our stories. Kate has a wealth of knowledge about the local area and the rich history enshrined there, and we are grateful for these deep and personal connections. We will be forever indebted to Kate for her enriching contributions to our experience.
We used Kate’s estate as a home base, which was well situated for exploring the greater Normandy region and returning to a tranquil spot for the evenings. The gardens are quite beautiful, and we wish we’d had more time to enjoy the pool and the grounds for playing family games.
We highly recommend this estate as a wonderful gathering place for families and friends, whether it be to explore the region, enjoy a peaceful respite, or both. We would love to return to enjoy more time there. Again, we thank Kate for her warm hospitality.

We had a lovely stay at Kate's place, which was ideally suited for a big group of 8 adults and 6 kids under 5. The domain in which the house is situated is superb, with lots of space for kids to play. The weather wasn't great, so the indoor covered pool was a great asset in that regard! The house itself is large and well-equipped, especially the kitchen. The floors upstairs were very creaky and the showers are a bit dated, but that was our only observation in an otherwise fantastic place. Kate herself lives on the domain, which was completely fine for our group but is something for visitors to be aware of. The barn, which has three bedrooms and separate living space, was perfect for one of our families, but is separated by Kate's house in between and is a 5 minute walk away from the main house. Again not a problem in itself, but something to be aware of if you are travelling with small children who would sleep there in the evening -- we needed a mobile app baby monitor as the signal of the normal device did not travel. Big thank you to Kate for her warm welcome and responsiveness, we very much enjoyed our stay.

The property was ideal for the wide age range of our group with areas for relaxation and quiet and a fabulous covered pool which was popular with the children. Very well equipped and comfortable. Good communication with the host and seamless check in and out. Altogether a really great holiday venue.

A good range of facilities in an extensive property. Maintained to a high standard. No complaints whatsoever except for the proliferation of wasps - but inevitable in the countryside in an August like this

A great place for a family holiday - all 17 of us! Lots of space for children to run and play - the pool was a HUGE favourite with the kids and adults.
Super fully equipped kitchen and dining areas inside and out big enough for us all. Not 5-star luxury, but for converted farm buildings in rural France it was comfortable and welcoming. Thanks Kate.

Good experience, nice is big and convenient for welcoming many couples as rooms have separate bathroom.
Summer was rainy so garden wasn't at its best state though.

We rented this house for 6 couples and children of varying ages. There was plenty of room for everyone - no sense of being overcrowded at all. Hardly saw the children as they spent most of the time in the pool. Good set up for mass catering.

We were courteously met by the owner Kate Blacker on our arrival and given a conducted tour of the property and grounds. All bedrooms were en suite, comfortable - bed linen and towels provided - and met the needs of our extended family. The modern kitchen in both the large and small house was well equipped. Large dining room and comfortable lounges. We were fortunate with the weather and all meals were taken on the large patio area outside the large house - bbq facilities provided. The grounds of the property were well maintained with flower beds and large areas for the children and adults to enjoy games of rounders and cricket. A highlight of the property was the heated outdoor enclosed swimming pool. Locally there were interesting villages and manor houses and forests to visit. The property is within easy reach of the channel tunnel and ferries. An exceptional location for a family holiday and thoroughly recommended.

Les Ecuries is a beautiful property which was accurately described in the listing. However, it was much larger than we were expecting, and so thoughtfully done out that you had everything you could need, including well-equipped kitchen, ample storage, blackout blinds and gorgeous fluffy duvets!
We found the layout of the main building particularly ideal for our 3 families as all parents were able to stay in a room close to their children. Two of our party then stayed in the Barn - a spacious annexe about 50 yards away which provided an ideal retreat for them as they didn't have children with them!!
It is worth looking at the aerial photo and noting that the swimming pool is a little way from the main house and is covered - this made it perfect for our group (8 adults and 6 young children) as it was warm and secure.
The property is very well-maintained, clean and comfortable.
Kate, the property manager was incredibly quick to respond to all my queries and on hand at the property if needed, whilst also being totally non-intrusive.
I would definitely recommend this property to a friend, either looking for somewhere to go with a group of families, or a large group of adults. The property is totally geared up for large groups, whilst still feeling characterful and indulgent.
The location was rural and very peaceful. It's an easy 1.75 hour drive from Calais and half an hour from the coast and also Rouen. The nearby town of Sans Saens is charming and has a Carrefour and a playground. We went for walks in the nearby forests and had a delicious and very reasonably priced meal in Relais Hubert in nearby San Ventes.

The place is calm and peacefull, surrounded by nature. All rooms are very confortable with a bathrroom for each. The owner has been welcoming. We spend with 20 friends, a great week-end. The only "false-note" is that the fridge were off when we arrived and it took the entire evening to get cold enough. Aside that, everything was perfect.

Large group of us stayed at the property which was ideal for our needs, very clean and tidy and the owners could not do enough to make our stay a great one. I recommend the property that is well stocked in the kitchen and the dinning room was large enough to take us all. Definitely be back next year. Thanks.

An excellent venue for a lovely holiday:
- Accommodation is spacious, with lots of history but beautifully restored and with modern fittings (all rooms en-suite), with very well-kept gardens.
- The owners are very helpful, they are English but have lived here for over 20 years so know the area very well. They live on-site so are available if needed but discreet otherwise.
- The pool is a real bonus, plenty warm enough in mid-Summer and a great size (12m long) for everyone to splash around in or to get some good exercise.
- The location is ideal: very well-connected (1h45 to Calais, close to local shops and autoroute) but also feels completely secluded with amazing view of stars at night.
- Really recommend: Clere village and stately home, Aubin-sur-Mer beach, many lovely local markets.
Would strongly recommend this to others.
