The Steiner's are great hosts and have a beautiful flat very close to the center of Zell am Ziller. Check-in and check-out was easy and you can even order fresh bread for the mornings. The kitchen and dinner area is really nice for cooking and eating. It's an easy 12 minute walk to the closest Zillertalbahn stop and the closest skibus stop is across the street. Can't recommend this place enough.

This apartment was luxurious and the facilities were amazing. It was clean, a great family apartment and the hosts were very nice and friendly. I would go back again and recommend highly.

We loved this place and would choose it again. The apartment was very spacious and extremely well equipped. The fine details on the property were outstanding, and beyond what we have seen at other places we have rented. Helmet was very kind and welcoming, hosting a small gathering for us and the other group staying on site. That was fun, and made it more comfortable for all of us. The location was great, with easy access to town and everything we needed. If we were coming back to that area again, we would book here, no hesitation.

The apartment was beautiful, clean, and very high quality. The views over the valley are fantastic. It's a very short walk to the ski bus and town where you can find restaurants, shops, and a grocery. It's also an easy walk to the ski area. We had a great time visiting with the owner who has done a lot of the remodeling of the building himself. He also gave us a ride to and from the train station which was very much appreciated. Communication with the hosts was also great, with very fast response times and very helpful information. Wundershchön!

Our family of 4 (kids ages 7 and 9) stayed here for 10 days and it was terrific! We were looking for a quiet place to relax and be active, and this place was just perfect. We had a car for some of this time so we could drive to Germany to see castles and other places we were interested in visiting. Coming back to this place after a long day on the road felt like home . Later, we just used the train to go to Innsbruck, walked all around town, and rented bikes to ride up and down the river valley (there are bike trails everywhere). Helmut is a great guy and made us feel like we were at home. He even helped me start the car one day after the battery died. The apartment is well insulated, very spacious, and has great views. The hot tub was a nice feature after long hiking days. We cooked most meals here and found the kitchen to be well stocked with everything we needed. We loved hearing the church bells each day and even went to a local festival which turned out to be an amazing experience. We will definitely return to Zillertal, but only if we can stay at Villa Francesca again!

A short pleasant walk from the train station, this apartment feels like home. The pictures and descriptions of other reviewers are exactly what you get. Large enough for our family of 5 to feel like we had lots of room. Beautiful view from the windows. Owner was friendly and helpful. This was a great base for our summer vacation hiking in the mountains. With easy access to the train station and buses, there was no need for a car. Grocery store and bakery along the walk to the train station. Community swimming pool with water slides also a short walk away. Town outdoor concert venue just across the river. Hope to come back and stay here again.

The apartment is a very warm and inviting space. You can tell that the owners have spent a tremendous amount of time restoring the villa and adding special charm. The house has pretty woodwork throughout. The hot tub is a rare treat, as we have stayed in many ski lodges that lack this extra amenity. The view from the house is of the entire valley and you can watch the skiers descend the zillertal arena resort. It is an easy walk into Zell am Ziller from the house. In addition, the apartment was clean and communication with the owners was prompt and clear. Great stay!

I chose Villa Francesca for my honeymoon in August 2010. Helmut, our host and the owner of the villa, recently renovated the place himself and it was clearly a labor of love. The apartments are full of natural wood paneling, imported furniture, and all the comforts of home, to include a fully decked out high-end kitchen, an entertainment room with large screen TV, a hot tub outside with an amazing view of the mountains, and a lily pond that you can wade in if you need to cool off! The villa is located on the hillside right outside Zell, and it’s elevation is a little higher than the town. So from all three apartments there are spectacular views of the town , the valley, and the mountains. Because the villa was located on the outskirts of town, there was some seclusion, but also easy access to groceries, restaurants, and hiking. My wife and I spent our days hiking in the surrounding hills (there is a trail that leads right from the villa up to an old shrine and an old chapel), enjoying the hot tub, going para-sailing (!!!), walking through Zell, and visiting old churches. The “Zillertal Bier” brewery, located in Zell, was founded in 1500 AD and the beer is excellent! We also rode a ski lift at the Zillertal Arena, and the ride lasted about 20 minutes! Helmut and his wife were spectacular hosts - very welcoming, low key, and helpful – all of the activities we did in the valley were recommended by them. Helmut is just simply a good man. He visited with us, shared his schnapps, and even invited us to his birthday party. He is fluent in Spanish and German, but does struggle a bit with English; however, this was not a problem for us. For an English-speaking American, the area was slightly difficult to navigate. Maps/signs/etc. were only in German, and often of a style that catered to German vacationers (cartoonish hiking maps and the like). We discovered real hiking maps in the Zell gift shops on our last day. Do a bit of homework before you go – there are just too many opportunities you might miss otherwise. That said, the lack of English language material also means that Zell is not very touristy (except that it is clearly a popular German vacation spot). This is a really wonderful place and I highly recommend it. My wife and I left a piece of our hearts there when we left (it is now the only place in Europe that she is interested in visiting). Thank you, Helmut! I am only sorry that it took me so long to write this review.
