Niet zoals voorheen...jammer.

Wij komen al 20 jaar bij dit hotel. We weten dus wat we konden verwachten. Maar er zijn een aantal kostenbesparingen doorgevoerd en onder het mom van 'hogere standaarden' dingen doorgevoerd...die echter een omgekeerd effect hebben, in onze ogen. * koude kraan in het restauranttoilet doet het niet, en er staat in het 2e restaurantoilet zelfs een stok geplaatst om te zorgen dat de kraan niet open gedraaid kan worden... * de wasbare handdoekjes zijn vervangen door een stapel papierendoekjes (die eigenlijk in een automaat horen en dus wanneer je er 1 pakt, volgen er per definitie een heleboel) * het geweldige ontbijtbuffet dat er altijd was is nu een ontbijt a la carte geworden, waarbij je elk sneetje brood bij moet bestellen, geen keuze qua jam (jam in een papierenbakje)... en de kamers/appartementen zijn nu net zo duur als voorheen mét ontbijtbuffet... * het personeel spreekt geen Nederlands en ook niet altijd goed Engels... Het personeel dat er langer zit aardig, vriendelijk en servicegericht is, moet vaak bijsturen bij het nieuwe personeel. Er was vaak verwarring, werd niet begrepen wat we bedoelden...terwijl we echt geen gekke dingen vroegen... De kamers worden nog steeds goed schoongemaakt, de bedden blijven super en de lokatie ook, maar onze algehele afdronk was toch teleurstelling tav onze jarenlange ervaring die we hier hebben gehad en in onze ogen verwachtingen hadden die niet onrealistisch waren... Wie weet is het management aan het zoeken naar nieuwe formules om eea te verbeteren (duurzaamheid is ook een logisch verbeterpad uiteraard)... maar we hopen dat ze kritisch blijven of het ook als verbetering wordt ervaren door klanten, tenzij ze het willen hebben van nieuwe klanten.

location. close to everything. excellent staff. good fan in room to cope with the heat

room on street side potentially noisy. no wadden view but the dike is close by through the “glop” to enjoy the view especially at low tide

Heerlijk comfortabel, heel vriendelijke bediening. Uitstekende faciliteiten. Heerlijk ontbijt, fantastische bedden, geweldige wellness.

Vreemde lucht in de doucheruimte.

Kamer zeer gehorig, hoorde de TV van de buren, terwijl die niet hard stond, ook het lopen van de bovenburen was zeer hoorbaar.

great spot. we came on the ferry from Texel and left early in the morning. would have liked a longer stay but it was ver

comfortable room. We were bike packing and having a towel warmer to dry clothes is a plus. Dinner at the restaurant was very good.

the desk staff person had gone home sick so there was a minor mix up with payment checking out but it was quickly handled by email the next day.

A real badhotel

Staff were really attentive and keen to do everything they could to make your stay as good as it could be. Very comfortable bed. Great breakfast. Nice evening meal in the restaurant also.

A comfortable stay in the main street on the island

The location of the hotel is great - its right in the main street of the village, and close to all the restaurants and the port/ferry and bus stop. The hotel has a great restaurant and terrace to enjoy a drink while people-watching. Beds are very comfortable.

I personally found the design of the hotel rooms quite outdated (it doesnt give me a very luxurious feel) and the rooms are really small (there is almost no space for suitcases, its basically a bed that you can just walk around). While we were staying there, there was a heatwave in the Netherlands, and as the hotel doesnt have AC, it was quite difficult to sleep in the room. They do offer small ventilators to make the situation a bit more bearable. In addition, the hotel is quite noisy - from outside there are sounds from the bar / garden below (not too bad, it all stopped before 10pm), as well as the hallway (the walls are really thin, so every time a neighbor locks his/her door, you can clearly hear it). We didnt have any issues with this, but something to call out if you are a light sleeper or sensitive to it.

Loved the staff, restaurant and bar, and location. Close to the beaches and store if we needed anything. Lots of space for the family. Being able to rent out the great spa for personal use and low price was amazing.

They need different pillows.

High quality hotel service with friendly stuff

Very good service, friendly stuff, nice lobby area, kingsized beds. In general a high quality hotel where you can relax after biking among the dunes of Vlieland. We also ate at the restaurant: delicious meat and refreshing desserts.

A lovely comfortable and delicious weekend

Very delicious food in the restaurant and beautiful clean rooms, with a lot of comfort. also a really nice spa and a perfect location.

The receptionist(s) was/were a bit condescending sometimes we felt, that made us feel uncomfortable and that is not okay. Also if your a spa hotel, why charge €40 for an hour in the spa? That is a lot. Or indicate it more clearly on the website
