About this cottage rental

Welcome to Rascoheagan Cottage, a private beach house with beautiful views of the Gulf of Maine, this 4-bedroom house offers an open design living area perfect for everyone to gather. Full of character and charm, several items used in the construction have been reclaimed and repurposed. If the weather is bad don't worry, you can hang out in the basement game room and play some Pong or shoot some Pool. Fall asleep with the windows open, saltwater breeze coming in off the water and the sounds of waves breaking. Wake up, get your coffee and blanket and curl-up on the balcony watching the sun come up. Reid State Park and Beach is less than a mile (from house to water), where you can hike, fish, swim, catch shellfish and watch wildlife. When you get back, rinse the sand and enjoy the private outside shower. The perfect ending to the day... Fire up the gas grill and serve dinner at the outside dining area.
Fully stocked with linens, towels, and practically any kitchen item you could need. There is ALWAYS coffee!! The General Store about 5 miles away in case you forgot something and Shaws grocery store is about 20 miles. Visit all the State Parks and Beaches you want... it's FREE! A pass is provided for your stay. The beach at Reid State Park is 3/4 of a mile away, ride your bikes or take a walk and visit the Lagoon. (NO SWIMMING FROM ROCKS AT THE HOUSE)

A few things to note about the property: There are rock ledge steps down to the house. Due to the high level of Iron and Manganese, there is a faint odor and discoloration of the well water. There is a bottled water dispenser for cooking and drinking. It will not hurt you.

Being on the Coast of Maine, you are so close to all the lighthouses and old Forts rich with history, your camera is going to be full of pictures!

Maine is also known for our amazing snow ski slopes, why not visit in winter too?
Thinking about a private wedding in Maine on the Coast? Imagine getting married on the balcony with the water as your background!

Loved hearing the sound of the Atlantic Ocean from the decks. Sunrise view from the decks. Spacious home with open floor plan. Cozy couch. Smart TV worked well. Nice big island and large kitchen table. Quiet road with few neighbors— we saw no one our entire stay. Property Manager very nice and responsive. A few things to note: to get to the house have to walk down a number of large rock steps from the parking area. There is no railing. The well water has a sulphur odor and tinge of brown color. Water for drinking and cooking is provided for guests to use though. If you are not accustomed to then smell of sulfur water it is off putting. Improvements that could be made: The property outside could use some cleaning/tidying up. There were old partially used bags of potting soil, shovels, and an unrolled garden hose left by the front door presumably from last years summer season. and there was wood/ construction materials under and around the deck in the yard area and off the basement. It just looks unkempt. The heat was very hard to control. It was cold upstairs and hot down stairs. Had to turn off the heat to cool the downstairs of the house. The beds we used had old Mattresses that were not very comfortable. The kitchen— glassware, utensils needed a good cleaning before we used them. The pots and pans have seen a lot of use. The downstairs has two pool tables but the tables and the sticks have seen better days. There is a nice corn hole set, ping pong, Kanjam.
