I did give the home five stars - the home was great. However, there are to warnings… 1. There is a fireplace, but it is decorative only. Not a huge deal.
2. The short walk to the beach is not short. The initial walk is steep and the pebbles make the footing insecure… then there are a few switch backs. We had people with us who would have been fine with a bit of a walk but struggled significantly with the incline/hike. The beach was the reason we rented the home (slip down for a coffee in the morning, pop down and watch the kids splash, sit by a fire in the evening…) The walk meant that we didn’t go down to the water most days and struggled down once on the days we did go down. A warning would have been appreciated. We would have found something more appropriate for our group. BUT. The owners were responsive, the property was clean and well stocked (beds were comfy and comforters snuggly). The natural surroundings and wildlife were wonderful, and (once you got to the beach) the water was crystal clear and simply amazing.

We had a small family reunion at this property and it was perfect. The house was easy to find, everything was clean and well stocked. And as a bonus it was probably the most comfortable rental-house bed I’ve ever slept in!
The host, Melissa, was very responsive and helpful for all our questions. It comfortably slept 6 adults and we could have fit a few more if needed. The outdoor area was well maintained and a relaxing place to eat dinner and visit. And the beach was stocked with a paddle board and some kayaks which was a plus.
Would definitely stay here or at another of their properties again. Highly recommend!

This was a comfortable property and we enjoyed our stay.
What we loved:
-Clean and comfortable bedding; we slept amazingly!
-Well stocked kitchen, it had everything we needed.
-Clean and functional grill with extra propane tank.
-Charming home that was quite comfortable.
-Beautiful area and wildlife, we enjoyed watching the deer and otters at the beach.
What you should know before you go:
-No comfortable outdoor seating. We ended up purchasing some camp chairs for use at the home and the beach.
-No patio/deck. There isn't really an outdoor living area at this property.
-The hike to the beach is long and vertical. I didn't mind it, but it does make going to the beach an endeavor and we didn't go as often as we thought we would because of the walk.
-Access to the beach itself is difficult as you have to scale some fairly large rocks to get to the water. Getting the kayaks from their storage spot on and off the beach takes a lot of strength, so be sure to have someone that can push/pull/lift.
-The outdoor waterfall is really pretty, when we were there the creek wasn't running, so it was the waterfall pond only that had water.. The second pond is quite full of greenery (it's very pretty!) but also mosquitoes, so take some repellant with you.
-There are no beach/pool towels here, so we purchased some locally so that we wouldn't dirty the white towels in the home.
-Many windows do not have screens (see mosquitoes above)
-There isn't a true view of the bay from this home.

We had such a great relaxing time here! Watching the water and the wildlife through the big windows, seeing Sealions (or maybe seals) swimming in the water and collecting shells at the beach. The weather didn't allow us to use the kayaks or paddleboards and the hike back from the beach was a touch harder than we anticipated. But, we definately are already planning another stay here. We loved it!

We had a perfect stay! Lovely home. Fun surrounding grounds for our 7 year old to explore. Easy to find/park. And, nearby access to the beach where we had a lot of fun exploring and connecting with nature. Highly recommended!

This place was really good. We stay in a lot of VRBO rentals and this i one of the top 5 ever. Very clean. Smelled good. Morning views of the Narrows. The walk to the beach is fantastic. Manager communication was great. We had a slight issue with a water leak and it was repaired within a couple of hours. The bed was so comfortable in the Master bedroom. Property was gorgeous. We highly recommend this property.

The cottage was great, there were portable AC units when it was a bit warmer, but overall we just used the fans. Beds were comfy. Kitchen was perfectly outfitted, everything was very nice.
The trail down to the water was a bit steep, and a bit further than I thought it would be, but worth it when you got to the water. It was great kayaking and paddle boarding. Lovely home, a great place.

This house is adorably charming and perfect for our first time in Washington. We loved taking the car ferry from Seattle and venturing from city to beautiful views and waterfront in such a short time. We loved the property and the walk to the water was short and easy. We visited the Ilahee State Park, which was only a few minutes away and dabbled into Lake Crescent for a day. Cute waterfront restaurants nearby, too. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely beautiful. Right by the water and so much wildlife/trees surrounding the home - couldn’t have asked for it to be any better than it was. We’ll be back!

Everything about the cottage is as advertised. Melissa was on top of everything. I look forward to staying there again in the future when my wife can join me.
