Woke up to throw up in front of our room. Later discovered human poop above our balcony.
No manager on site during the entire stay. Addressed the issue to the local staff, who don’t speak English and also could not contact anyone when calling. Escalated it to Hotels.com and they also had no luck resolving it with the hotel management.
Restaurant and bar in the pictures look vibrant, but empty with small menu in reality.

The property has a beautiful view and within a very short walk you reach a wonderful and almost virgin beach.
Our room was spacious and had a big terrace with a view to the beautiful jungle. Guest attentiont and hospitality was poor. One night we wanted to stay in the lobby and chill with friends but the night guard turned the lights off at 10 pm.
It´s a very nice and new place but don´t expect a hotel, its a bed and breakfast.

Beautiful restaurant and hotel. It has a fun relaxed feel. As soon as you enter you feel transported.
The rooms are beautifully decorated, they are specious and have all amenities.
We truly enjoyed our stay. We ended up having dinner every night at Casa Lamia since it was the best restaurant we tried in Costa Rica.
The service was friendly and impeccable.
The staff made you feel at home. We were waken up everyday to a delicious breakfast made by Yeimy.
Our fondest memories of Costa Rica were at Casa Lamia, can’t wait to go back.

The view from the front of Casa Lamia is hard to beat. The first night we sat and watched the sun go down with a sailing yacht in the foreground. Breakfast was included every morning and was homemade and delicious

This property provided breathtaking views of the expansive sea, offering a sense of tranquility and connection to nature. The soothing sound of waves crashing against the shore was a constant companion, creating a relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. The proximity to the ocean allowed for easy access to beach activities like swimming, snorkeling, and beachcombing. Waking up to the sight and sound of the ocean waves just steps away was a highlight of our experience.
Overall, the property's prime location by the ocean made for an unforgettable and rejuvenating getaway.

Anthony and Brandon were wonderful and very hospitable. The view from the restaurant was spectacular. The food was magnificent. We had the seafood platter. The sounds of the jungle birds from the back deck were magical. We saw wild horses and iguanas everyday. I would recommend this location to anyone who wants a beautiful view, who loves nature and who is okay to be a two minute drive from the main road.

Casa Lamia was amazing! Anthony and Brandon were great. Anthony in particular was helpful in so many ways and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Also, the food was unmatched by any other restaurant we ate at during our 5 days in Costa Rica. The atmosphere was inviting and I would stay again and again if I could. Highly recommend for anyone.

We enjoyed our stay overall but they describe it as beach front and that is not entirely true. The view of the sunset is spectacular but it is a long walk down a rough road to a small beach.
We were not happy with the smell of mold in the unit. We tried to air it out but that just allowed more humidity in.
The staff were great, the food and drinks were great and they did a small amount of laundry for us at no charge.

We had a very odd experience at this “hotel,” which is basically just 3 rooms attached to a restaurant. Upon our arrival, we were told that our room had plumbing issues & they had to book us at another hotel. Obviously, we were disappointed. They told us to have a drink & wait until they could send over the details of the other hotel. Then, they came over to us after about 10 min saying that we could stay in a different room than we booked. We were then wondering if we would get any money back for downgrading our new room. While moving into our room, we saw people (owner + family) on the balcony of the room that we had been told was unavailable and were quite confused. At dinner, we asked to speak with the owner to express our concerns w/ the room we booked seeming to be occupied & the difference in pricing. She said no one was staying in that room (not true), they made a mistake when we arrived, & it was another guest that they had to move to another hotel. She also told us the room we booked did not exist when we booked it & we did not pay more. Both of these were contradictory to our booking info & what we were told earlier. Afterwards, we were given free shots & forced to take them with the employee. This was very weird & we immediately passed out upon our return to our room, which made us wonder what was in our shots. There were many whispered conversations about us during our stay & it was clear they were lying to us so the owner + friends could stay in that room.

The staff was very helpful and gave me recommendations on how to get around town without having a car rental. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill which made getting to the park & beach very easy and cheap! They are still renovating some of the bungalows, which meant some noise but the place will be beautiful once it is all finished! They also had an onsite restaurant which was great, and one that was right next door if you wanted to try something different without going down the big hill to the main road.

The perfect weekend getaway for our last min escape from the city life. Food and drinks were fantastic, staff extremely attentive and accommodating. Can’t wait to visit again!

We had a fantastic stay! We stayed at the bungalow with jungle view, waking up to the sound of nature was just an unforgettable experience. The staff was kind and attentive. The food was the best we had in costa rica, we just kept dining there since it beat all the other restaurants and the view of the sunset was breathtaking. I highly recommend!
Enjoyed the views, the top notch service and our bungalow
Overall I would come here again, you can’t beat it!
When we arrived the service was great, the waiters were attentive along with the service at the restaurant. They irgqnzued a beach picnic for us for our anniversary with a photoshoot, it was absolutely the best fun and romantic experience i’ve ever had!
They also have atvs for rental which we did and got to explore so much of the town and hidden beaches that way!
Can’t wait to come back!

Buyer Beware!!! The property is nothing as presented. The beach is not close to the property. The restaurant is not open and has not been since at least mid April 2023. It is in the middle of nowhere. Off the back deck, you’re view is slum housing. The “front desk” is non existent. The “security guard” handed us the keys at check in. No hot water. No air conditioning. No sheets for the so called “pull out sofa” (which is not a pull out sofa and our kids’ legs hang off of as it’s too short and not a pull out sofa”. It’s a total scam. We got our money back thankfully. Do Not. Book Here! We had to be moved to another location due to the false advertising!!!

This wasn't at all what we expected. The photos are mainly of a restaurant and a beach that we actually never saw because we were told upon arrival that it's a 13 minute walk down a mountain trail to get there. Per other site's description and these pictures, we thought it was a beachfront property. Also, there are no Queen sofa beds. There is one bed as well as a long platform (like a couch) but no sofa beds as described.
There are also no curtains on the sliding glass doors and the AC wasn't working, so with it being 90 degrees when we arrived, it was too hot to be in the room.
We had more than 2 people staying in the room (as it said it was for up to 4 people) but apparently they only offer 2 towels so we all showered using the same towels.
As soon as we called Expedia to share the concerns and express the issues with what we expected vs reality, we were refunded right away and we left the property to fortunately find an available property that was a much better fit.
This room seems great for a photo shoot, or for a young couple or pair of friends who are coming in a season where it's cool enough to be in that room, and who don't plan to spend much time there. There is no tv as described and there's really nowhere to sit inside the room unless you're on a bed. Again, great for a photo shoot because it was designed beautifully, but not comfortable and not condusive to more than 2 people.

Everything about my stay was perfect, i came to celebrate my anniversary and we had such an amazing time! we were greeted with welcome drinks and Ronnie was so good to us answering all the questions we had as it was our first time in Costa Rica. The room was spacious and overlooked the mountains. close by theres a beautiful beach which also was a fun part of the trip we had a sunset dinner organised for us which was super romantic. Great menu options my favourite was the jerk chicken and shrimp fried rice they have vegan options too so that was good to see. such a beautiful place to relax and get sun. we can't wait to come back we're hooked!

We went out on a limb when we booked here because of the fact that it was a new place with no reviews yet or really even much information but from the moment that we arrived at Casa Lamia, Rowyne (general manager) and the rest of the staff couldn't have treated us better or been more accommodating. Our room was right beneath the new Casa Lamia Restaurant overlooking the Pura Vida Valle. The room was a good size and had an earthy and clean vibe with concrete walls and floors but nice touches of softer fabrics. The floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors opposite the beds lead to a large deck overlooking the valley and gave us a picturesque scene to wake up to every morning. The bathroom was clean and had towels, soaps, shampoo bottles, and great water pressure. Rowyne had said that the cleaner could come daily but we opted to have her come every other day during our stay and she did a very nice job. The food and drinks at Casa Lamia were excellent and they always made sure that we had coffee and fresh fruit in the morning. Our boys loved sitting in the open air restaurant in the mornings and watching all of the iguana activity as well as throwing rocks from the street down into the valley of trees below. There is another restaurant called Ronny's Place right next door but besides that, the location is not very walkable but the staff was always helpful with calling us taxis and even helping us book tours. I would highly recommend Casa Lamia and will definitely be back!
