About this house rental
Goldfinch Cottage is a stunning Victorian house, very spacious and modernly decorated to a high standard. Perfect for a relaxing seaside break with friends and family, including the dog!
You check in using a key box code. I am however local to the area, so if you need anything or have any questions, I am only a phone call away and a short drive!
The town, beach, Harbour and Whitstable Castle are all only a couple of minutes walk which makes it easy to pop to the shops and eat out at the many restaurants. You can enjoy a boat trip , hire bikes and learn to paddle board if you're feeling a bit more adventurous!
Visits to the surrounding towns of Herne Bay with it's historic Pier and Canterbury with it's breathtaking Cathedral are only a short bus ride away with busses running every 15 minutes.
You have access to all areas in the property apart from the wall cupboards in the kingsize & twin bedroom and half of the understairs cupboard.
As you walk through the front door after a long day exploring Whitstable, sink into the large comfortable sofa in front of a crackling fire with a glass of wine or a good book. The stylish kitchen is fully equipped to cook a hearty meal using the local fish caught in the working harbour. It comes with an extra fridge and a dishwasher, to save the washing up! The dining table & chairs look out through the bi-fold doors to the decked garden with comfortable seating, and scented with honeysuckle. The utility room is convenient with a sink, washing machine, fridge & freezer.
Upstairs you will find 3 bedrooms; 1 Kingsize, 1 Double & 1 Twin, all with Victorian furnishings. The relaxing bathroom has a shower over the bath, WC and basin.
For children there is a travel cot (please bring your own bedding) and a high chair provided plus some kitchenware.
There is free street parking on the road and surrounding roads. The nearest paid parking is Victoria Street car park. You can view the charges on the Canterbury City Council website. Parking can be limited in the high season but once you have parked up, you are close enough to walk into town, beach, shops etc. You can find more parking on the 'Just Park' website.
You can also visit the 'Just Park' website to find out where to park in Whitstable.
There are frequent buses running from Whitstable to Herne Bay and Canterbury. You will find bus stops along Harbour Street, High Street, Oxford Street etc.
The trains from Whitstable station will take you to Ramsgate or further afield to London. Whitstable Train Station is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
Whitstable Taxi services are available for short fares or airport runs.
The nearest airports are in London and the nearest Ferry port is in Dover.
