About this cottage rental
Sage Cottage is a true Cotswold home in a village setting which has a wonderful sense of community. Set on the quiet High Street you arrive through the muddling streets of Blockley. One of a row of similar properties, Sage Cottage covers three floors with a raised garden behind.
The ground floor has a wonderful kitchen which is waiting to be filled with the delicious smells of baking and cooking while children spend time together in the living room. An open-plan sitting and dining area with a skylight is where you'll spend your evenings with meals extending into drinks on the terraced patio outside. Coming back from walks and visits to nearby landmarks the snug has a wood burner in an inglenook fireplace and is a room which fills you with comfort. Up on the first floor are two bedrooms, one with an en-suite, and a showstopping bathroom with a large rolltop clawfoot bath. Each bedroom has been thoughtfully decorated with wooden furniture and a tranquil colour scheme in keeping with the cottage's name. The master bedroom on the second floor takes you away from the rest of the cottage with a super-king-size bed which you'll adore. With an en-suite shower room you will spend more time than you'd expect up here reading, relaxing, and watching the village through the window.
Outside, the terraced garden is perfect for eating meals outside, or just listening to the birds. From the front door there are numerous walks you can enjoy in the nearby vicinity of Blockley or further to Broad Campden and Chipping Campden. A short drive brings you to Regency Cheltenham Spa, Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Norton or further north to Stratford-upon-Avon.
*Dogs: 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome at the cottage at an additional cost each. Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog and we will then revise your booking confirmation. The pet fee is NOT included in your booking fee. A request for an additional fee per pet will be sent to you after you have placed your booking. Your pet fee must be paid for before your arrival date.
Ground Floor
Kitchen:
This delightful kitchen has fresh white units, stone tiled floors and wooden worktops and beams giving the traditional cottage style a contemporary edge. Preparing meals you will feel at home in this well-laid-out kitchen with an oven, hob, Belfast sink and enough worktop space. Displayed artwork by local artists shows the nearby woods for a glimpse of the walks you can enjoy.
Living/Dining Room:
Two steps up from the kitchen is the open-plan living/dining room with a comfortable sitting area and six-seater dining table. A skylight above the sitting area makes this space light and airy where your group can watch TV after enjoying your homecooked meals. Sections of exposed stone wall contrast with the relaxed decor showing the cottage's past. Patio doors take you out to the raised garden.
Utility/Cloakroom:
From beside the dining area is a utility where you'll find the washing machine and an additional fridge with a small freezer space. At the end of this room is a cloakroom with a WC and sink.
Snug:
Two steps down from the living room is the cosy snug with a wood burner in a large inglenook fireplace. This room is more traditional with the wooden exposed beams a real feature above the flagstone floor. Enjoy an evening glass of wine, catch up with some work at the desk or just curl up in front of the fire. The mullioned window looks out over the quiet village high street.

What an enjoyable village, but most importantly what a dynamic cottage to enjoy our visit. While the cottage entrance stresses its historical significance, however once you enter, you are immediately confronted by up-to-date charm, amenities, and relaxing floor plan to accommodate your stay. An additional gem to the cottage is the parking slot immediately in front of the door. The village is perfectly located to enjoy the exploration of the Cotswold's.

Safe Cottage was an idyllic place to stay. Blockley was a fabulous village, and the cottage provided a beautiful, clean and comfortable base for our family.
We would definitely stay again.

Blockley is a quaint village nestled in rolling hills with a fabulous cafe to get your coffee fix and walks around the local hills galore. Lovely and clean cottage, perfect for our group of 6 and twin babies. Only negative is the company makes you check in after 4pm and check-out before 10am with no flexibility which we found a bit unreasonable.

Sage cottage was beautifully decorated and extremely clean. We had a great stay and it was handy having an off street parking space. Would book again.

We were able to get early check in to the cottage which was great and enabled us to leave our car, unpack and have an explore of the beautiful village. We had a late lunch at the village cafe which was very good. Amazing cocktails are to be had in the Crown Hotel which is run by a lovely family where the service was fabulous.
The cottage itself is immaculate and has beautiful decor and first class bathrooms.
Our only criticism was that the kitchen was quite cold as the underfloor heating was only on very low.
Also we were unable to light the wood burner despite several attempts We all have woodburners so it's not user error and this one just was unusable which was a shame as we were looking forward to using the snug but without the log burner it was a cold room.

Sage cottage was beautiful. It was clean, comfortable, cosy and an absolute joy to stay in. It is very well equip with everything we needed in the kitchen and lounge including a log burner in the snug. There are thoughtful and beautiful touches everywhere you look. The surroundings are peaceful, quiet and relaxing. We didn’t make use of the lovely garden due to the weather but could certainly see how lovely it would have been. The cottage is well appointed, easy to find and park up. Blockley is a stunning village with an excellent cafe and shop in walking distance.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and only wished it was longer, genuinely sad to leave.

We had an amazing stay here. It was even more spacious than the pictures appeared to show and we had plenty of room for 4 adults, 3 children and a dog. Would definitely consider returning. We loved it!

The village couldn’t be more picture postcard. The cottage is also fantastic, a great modernisation of an older building. As it’s managed by a property agent, it perhaps felt a little impersonal. There were no toiletries, which we hadn’t anticipated and even though the agent were responsive on email, we tried to get a late check out and were told to speak directly to the housekeeper who didn’t ever respond. That said, everything else was perfect. Lovely stay and would recommend.

We enjoyed a family weekend at Sage Cottage. Beautiful well kept cottage in quiet, unspoilt location. Fabulous walks from the doorstep. The cottage had everything we required for a family short break away. Would definitely return. Thank you.

A clothes dryer would be very helpful. The washing machine does not have a drying function. Property should have laundry detergent. Shower - (a) A partition or door at the front of the shower would be preferred; (b) a shelf in the shower to keep shampoo etc would be convenient. Overall the property is awesome and our stay was very enjoyable!

Such a beautiful cottage, with everything you could think of needing plus so much more. Every detail was thought out and so pretty. We didn’t want to leave! I’m now trying to think of a reason to book again.

Lovely stay and cottage.
Few times had cars parked over parking space entry probably related to the high number of building renovations nearby. Noisy at times.
Could do with more crockery - very limited as with cooking trays and oven dishes.
Loved the fresh decor/style

Fabulous house in a great location. Amazing attention to detail. Lovely space both inside and out. Friendly locals, great shop and cafe close by. Would highly recommend staying at Sage Cottage.

Lovely village with some pubs, cafe and a shop and off the main tourist spots.
The cottage was great. Every bedroom gets a bathroom and furnishings are immaculate.
We particularly enjoyed the top terrace for morning and evening drinks.

The property is beautifully furnished throughout, it is tastefully decorated and it has all of the amenities you could want for an escape holiday. The layout is suitable for 6 with each bedroom having it’s own bathroom facilities - this alone makes it a rare and excellent find. There is also a downstairs cloakroom. The garden is nicely laid out with a large table for 6 on a patio. Be aware that there are some steep steps to climb for access, which was fine. Parking outside was simple enough and didn’t create any problems for us. There is a good guide supplied and this was helpful. The local area is beautiful and is much quieter than the well known villages around. It was incredibly peaceful around and everyone we met was friendly and made us feel welcome. There were a couple of teething issues but nothing that ruined the enjoyment of our stay. These have been fed back. I would highly recommend Sage Cottage. It’s in a beautiful location with good access to surrounding attractions. A local shop and pub were also good outlets with friendly staff and good local food.

We loved everything about our stay in this cottage. It's a beautiful, quaint home in a charming village with stunningly beautiful countryside surroundings. The cottage has been updated with terrific modern amenities, but maintains its charm.
We had a minor issue with water pressure when we arrived and the management company was quick to respond and resolve the issue.
If you are looking for the perfect Cotswold vacation rental, we highly recommend this property.
