Visit to Livorno to see family member who lives there.

Great place ! Very big room with great big windows right in front of the sea in a very grand beautiful building
4.0 / 10.0
Lovely location and the room had a huge bed. But the pool was closed and the spa only opened at 3pm on Tuesday - we were there Monday to Wednesday, so that was very limiting. The bar had a lovely view, but was very expensive.

The hotel is very dated and definitely not a 5 star like advertised. There is no lobby area or any area to sit and relax. Advertises a pool area but doesn’t mention that you have to pay to use the pool
Paint is peeling from the walls, our window leaked in the rain, the shower door didn’t close properly and soaked the bathroom floor. Tea and coffee wasn’t filled up every day had to ask for more and they tried to charge me for a coffee sachet!
Breakfast was €20 per person per day! Went next door to a little bakery for croissants and coffee which was €2
It’s in a good location next to the bus stop and on the boarder of the main Livorno area

This was an outstanding hotel. The rooms were big, not the typical small European room. The bathroom had a tub and a shower and also was large. The location was beautiful - right across from the ocean. I would stay here again!!

Rude Front desk ladies, and our Room had Mold all over the wall. When I told them they said "oh".
Then;
They charged me for a car when i didnt have one. When i asked for refund they said" No i can't refund, i complained again & receptionists said it will take weeks for refund". Not helpful.

Rooftop restaurant and pool

What a wonderful hotel, check in & service by everybody was great, the hotel is beautiful. My room was huge with a separate marble bathroom. The rooftop pool was very nice although the water could have been a bit cleaner, it was murky. The breakfast was out of this world, so many choices & beautiful. I would love to stay again.

Lovely setting, good service, easy parking, comfortable.
Could do with a lick of paint

The hotel is nice with a good service. The gym was a disappointment in the -1 floor, with no windows or functional AC. The breakfast was also very basic. The roof pool and deck was nice to relax and soak in the sun.

Fantastic! The hotel was so pretty! Felt super luxurious! The pool area was nice! Nice staff in the bar.

The hotel did not respond to emails, we wanted them to organise airport pick up but they never responded to repeated emails.
The breakfast did not have a good variety and choice of healthy options. It was mostly sweet pastries and breads/ cakes and not much salad choices. There was no option to cancel payment for breakfast either, so whether we ate it or not we had to pay €17 per breakfast which was a total rip off
Don’t be fooled there is a beach by the hotel. You have to pay and there is no beach, just access to the sea. Another disappointment.
The air conditioning in the room was very poor and kept cutting out. It would not cool below 24 degrees centigrade
Swimming pool on 5th floor but expected to go to reception on ground floor to collect towels. Unacceptable in a 5 star hotel
The staff work hard and try to please however I would not recommend staying there for the above reasons.

Front services were not 5 stars but Walking distance to Livorno area, Terazza mascagni etc!

Property was grand but tired. Restaurant has a magnificent view over the harbour. Food selection and staff were excellent. However our shower was not clean and had a temporary wooden slatted floor which was insecure/unsafe and it was impossible to use the shower without flooding the bathroom. Reception was poorly run - had to queue for sometime to check in and we were told the roof pool was closed when it was actually open.

Another fantastic stay at this lovely hotel. This time we had our 6 month old with us. The staff were really friendly, helpful and kind, especially with the baby. We were given recommendations for restaurants and provided anything we needed.

Its a beautiful old hotel with great ocean view but heat/ air condition doesn't work well. No good to ho there for winter and summer😅

Great position and ambience. Classic Italian.

It is a first-class hotel right by the sea, with friendly service staff and a breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired.
The room was very spacious, with a comfortable king size bed 😀
The furnishings are already a bit old (some paint is peeling off on the walls and shutters, slight defects in the bathroom and the furnishings).
But none of this had a negative impact on my stay!
A small pool & sun loungers on the roof terrace, which I didn't use.
The hotel is right next to a bus stop and the journey to the center takes 15 to 20 minutes.
It is also possible to rent an e-bike directly on site.

Property was beautiful, but run down. Bed was very comfortable, but rooms could be upgraded. Breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety, very surprised at the gluten free selection. Architecture and historical information was gorgeous. View of the water was breathtaking! Had some course interactions with people in the city, but overall a lovely stay.

I enjoyed my stay. Positives were the quiet location next to the sea, good bus connection to the centre and station, nice historic building and rooms and the staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast was only an about 3* in terms of quality. Also, I noticed that the space under the bed hadn’t been cleaned properly (dust etc.). The air conditioning didn’t work which was not too bad at that time of the year. There was no milk provided for the tea/coffee in the room. As I said, I enjoyed it, especially because of the staff and beauty of the building, but I wouldn’t call it a 5*

The staff took excellent care of us. An example we had just got back to hotel and the restaurant had closed. But the bartender and the chef whipped up some delicious food even though they closed. They went above and beyond. Rooms are large and clean. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had beautiful views of ocean

only negative I had is that carpet in the hallway made it difficult to push wheeled suitcase. everything else was perfect.

It was a very pleasant and beautiful stay. The location is gorgeous and the hotel is stunning as well. The hotel service was continuously kind and helped anytime we asked. Wonderful stay!

Great dinning choice on the fifth floor.

Beautiful grandiose hotel built in 1888. The high ceilings, the columns and the frescos are a glimpse into its glorious past. The rooms are nicely decorated with view of the seaside, which is just across the street. The breakfast offers many choices and is served in a lovely room. Fabiana greeted us every morning with her beautiful smile. The staff are professional and helpful. Great experience!

Hotel gate was closed for car to drive in when we arrived at 6pm. We had to park outside on the street and walked into hotel to ask them open the gate for us.
There was only one staff doing check-in, we waited very long. It took us more than 30 minutes from parking to get the room key.
Room is very clean. Shower is leaking. Water was all over the bathroom floor after 10 minutes’ shower.

check in very unpolite and nobody to escort you to the room; missing valet service. bathroom super old with some broken pieces; towels very old and smelling bad; bed very uncomfortable with the two single mattress opening and missing topper.
Overall not a 5 star, only the building is nice.

Didn't feel 5*
Especially not breakfast in which every small cup of coffee had to be individually requested.
The restaurant prices were through the roof, appropriately enough given the restaurant is actually through the roof. Lovely views over the sea though.
