About this cabin rental
Welcome to this thoughtfully remodeled hunting cabin nestled on 13 acres of wooded, private seclusion. While this adorable cabin is the perfect private getaway for you and the family, its location makes it easy for you to get around.
You are only:
1 min to Current River
1 min to Mark Twain (cabin/property is surrounded by Mark Twain)
5 min to Doniphan
5 min to full service float trips (KCs on the Current and Rocky River)

Every aspect of this property has been remodeled to breathe new life into this cozy, rustic cabin.
While the cabin is equipped to house 7 people, we think that the perfect group size is 4-5. We're happy to host all 7, but keep in mind that it will be a little cozier.
Ready for one of your best night's sleep? Drift off into tranquil bliss to the sounds of hoot owls, whippoorwills, spring peepers, and many other nighttime critters.
Sure, eating out at great restaurants is super fun, but sometimes we need a home-cooked meal. Our kitchen (indoor and outdoor) is stocked with all of the essential utensils and dinnerware to exercise your culinary prowess. Show off your culinary expertise, just make sure you can do it in a convection toaster oven, microwave, or on a griddle (outdoor camping flattop;)
There is no running water in the cabin, we do have an outdoor shower (seasonal) and bathroom. There is a sink/wash basin outside for cleaning up dishes or washing hands etc. but please note this water is non-potable (not for drinking) as it is direct from the well. Can you say rustic?
There is a designated bedroom with a sliding barn door and additional blankets can be found in the bedroom dresser if needed.
The kitchenette, dining, and living area is open concept.
The electric fireplace does have a remote to allow the guest to adjust temp and flame display to their preference.
We have provided a variety of coffee pods as well as sugar, sweetener, and creamer.
While there is a smart tv, guests will be responsible for connecting to any streaming service(s) if available. Blu-Ray player is hooked up in addition to a large variety of movies to watch if desired.
There is an outdoor seating area with a firepit as well as a covered dining area with picnic tables and a gas grill. One bundle of firewood is provided per stay.
There is a designated bedroom with a sliding barn door and additional blankets can be found in the bedroom dresser if needed.
This cabin is nestled in the woods surrounded by the Mark Twain National Forest. While there are several areas to explore and enjoy, please be respectful of the areas that are marked with "No Trespassing."
All guests agree to not go past any posted no trespassing signs. These are put in place for both the guest and property owners safety.
Because the cabin has no indoor plumbing, there is an outdoor shower provided (based on temperature/seasonal availability - see below.)
Soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided.
The outdoor toilet is a composting toilet and has a bucket of cedar chips to scoop onto any "deposits". This will honestly benefit everyone using the loo after you! ;)
Please note that the outdoor shower is somewhat seasonal. This simply means that we do turn off the water to the shower during freezing temperatures to prevent the pipes from breaking. Typically, shower is unavailable for use from December to March. (subject to change based on consistent freezing temperatures.) If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.
Guests are responsible for reading House Rules, rental agreement, and abiding by these during your stay.

We enjoyed our stay at your perfect, peaceful cabin! It was a wonderful weekend away from a fast paced life. This quiet cabin was just what we needed.
The cabin was stocked with coffee, snacks for kids, games to play with the family, and movies - if that is how you wind down. We enjoyed nights by the fire and playing Uno with family.
The outdoor shower and toilet were different from what we are accustomed to, but we enjoyed the experience.
We look forward to coming back in the future. 2 nights wasn’t nearly enough. The host, Megan, was very attentive to any possible needs. She checked on us daily. Great weekend getaway!!!
