L’Horta is a rare gem! One of those much-requested, ever-elusive properties that offers visitors an abundance of style, comfort and quality in a location that brings maximum convenience. Pollença is one of the most iconic towns in the Balearic Islands, a place full of atmosphere and history where narrow cobbled backstreets intersect wider thoroughfares lined with shops, boutiques, tapas bars and a great selection of restaurants ranging from simple snacks to high-end fine dining. As all of this is within easy walking distance of L’Horta you can just arrive, unload… and put those car keys away!
As is so often the case, a broad, traditionally flat-fronted façade gives little clue to the bright, elegant and modern property lying behind. Instantly welcoming, the décor throughout is light and tasteful, room proportions are deceptively spacious, furnishings understated and contemporary with a distinctive 21st Century twist.
A harmonious distribution of facilities sees four air conditioned bedrooms paired with four bathrooms, a comfortable lower floor living area alongside the dedicated kitchen/diner plus a separate play/reading room on the top floor where there is also a large sun terrace with views across the rooftops to the chapel-topped Puig de Maria.
Unusually large for a town house, the south facing, courtyard garden boasts excellent terrace space for both sunbathing and dining alongside the lovely pool. To one side, an eye-catching water cascade has been artfully incorporated into the attractive golden-coloured stonework that borders the pool and the direct views onto this scene through tall glass windows in the kitchen/diner further enhance the already roomy feel of the interior.
Hub of the town and fringed by cafes, shops and elegant restaurants, the ‘Plaza España’ is only a few minutes’ walk from the house with minimarkets, a bakery, chemist, banks and various family-run stores for everyday essentials all within a similar distance. Keep an eye out for the lunchtime ‘menu del dia’ served in many of the characterful local eateries (eg El Moli, 300m), often a great way to sample traditional Mallorquin fare at surprisingly low prices.
For a day at the beach head to one of the coves at Cala San Vicente (6.7km) or the long sandy stretch of coastline at Port de Pollença (7km) where you will also find, water sports, boat trips, boat rentals, scuba diving and a vibrant selection of restaurants where grilled meats and seafood are specialities. Pollença golf course is a ten minute drive and there are many lovely trails for both walking and cycling to be enjoyed in the surrounding countryside and foothills.
Property Licence No. VT100265 Air conditioning usage is on a timer (12 hours per day)
Please note that in addition to the property rental there is a local tourist tax to pay for all visitors aged 16 and over. €2.00 (€2.20 incl. IVA) (£2) per night for the first 9 nights, €1.00 (€1.10 incl. IVA) (£1) per night for each night thereafter per person. We will add this amount to your booking.
