The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly and attentive. They helped my 9 year old have an excellent experience and even made him a little goody bag and gave to him when we passed by the front desk. The only thing I had a small complaint about was the air conditioner made a loud audible clock sound when coming on or going off and would wake me up on the first night. Luckily i brought a sound machine and i just placed it closer and it helped drown out the click sound somewhat. Overall we had a good experience and would consider returning to this hotel.

This was the most pleasant hotel I have stayed at in Wilmington. The hotel is beautiful and the staff and breakfast was amazing. The room and beds were great! Will definitely stay again.

It was quick, but quiet and quaint. We enjoyed it there. The bed was comfy, the shower was hot, the breakfast was enjoyable and simple.

the front desk staff was wonderful , I was disappointed that there was no pool even though it stated it had one (that's a reason I booked this hotel to relax with my daughter ) . breakfast food was not great .

Great check in experience. Friendly and helpful staff. New hotel so everything was very clean. Double room was small but well thought out design. Would highly recommend and woukd stay again!!

super clean. no live-ins which makes a hotel cruddy with dogs and trash and laundry in the halls, and smells of people cooking funky spices and foods in their rooms. the shared spaces in the lobby were fantastic and comfortable and very inviting. good coffee available 24-7. nice place. we made up our minds to always stay at a TRU if there is one wherever we are traveling.

When we got there we were disappointed to find out that the pool was not open. We were really looking forward to a hotel with a pool which was why we picked this hotel. Our TV also did not work. It was stuck on the welcome screen and the remote did nothing. When we called the front desk the woman gave us a “I don’t care” attitude and suggested we just unplug the TV. When I called back to say that I could not find the plug as the TV does not come out from the wall she then said the only thing she could do was switch our room and sounded as if this was more of an inconvenience to her than us (it was 2am at this point and we had just come home from a wedding).
We finally were able to get the plug out, but could not get it back in the wall so just went to sleep. Other than that the hotel is super clean, but I was pretty disappointed with the lack of pool and lack of help when we were having a problem.

Great stay and very friendly courteous staff. The desk clerk Raul was very helpful and ensured that we had all that we needed. He was very informative of all of the things that the hotel offered.

The room was very clean, warm, and exceeded my expectations. The staff's attention was very good; everyone was very kind, especially Raul, with whom we had direct interaction. We will definitely come back on our next vacation.
100% recommended!

Nice hotel. Loved the pool table and contemporary decor. Parking was difficult and we thought they gave our room away but they were able to accommodate us.

The staff was super friendly and helpful.. some places act snobby. The staff here were extremely nice and I was made to feel welcomed. Which is how you should at an establishment of this nature. Already booked another stay!!;

There was no pool or access to any patio despite what was advertised
There was a hole in the wall in the hall and missing molding. The first room they gave us had not been cleaned / bed was unmade etc

We were out of body wash in the shower and didn’t realize it until I had already begun my shower. My husband went downstairs to get more but was lotion instead. He went back again and was given hand soap. At that point I used the hand soap and called it a day. Raul was very kind and helpful. Other than the soap fiasco our stay was very good.

Front desk staff was amazing. Had an issue but Ray at the front desk took good care of us! Thank you!

I booked this hotel through hotels.com. At check-in I was informed that the hotel pool was still under construction. We needed a pool after a long trip and for relaxation after sightseeing in the summer heat the coming days, so we asked the young woman at check-in if it was possible to check out again to find a different hotel with an open pool. She informed us that it was not their policy, but she called a manager. We talked to the manager on duty - a very nice and helpful lady, who helped us check availability on their sister hotels Home2Suites down the road, and agreed to let us check out again and get a refund through hotels.com. I even received a cancellation mail from the hotel the same day. After a few days I called hotels.com to ask when I would receive the money back, but after they talked to the manager - Ray - at TRU I was told that they would not refund my money. I also tried to call Ray, but he pretty much accused me of lying saying that he didn't know which "manager" I had talked to, and that it wasn't their policy to refund money for late cancellations. So now I am just an unhappy customer stuck between hotels.com who stated on their site that this hotel has a pool, even with a picture of it, who will not refund my money because the manager at TRU will not refund it to them. 360$ is a lot of money for our family, and not a nice way to end a vacation to the US.

Very disappointed there was no pool as advertised. NC in August should have pool available. No air conditioning in the fitness center, our blackout shade would not go up.

New property with no pool and no AC in a nice fitness room. Only 3 weeks since opening. Breakfast was ok with not many choices. Staff was very polite and helpful. Did have a pool table of all things. An adjacent Hilton property is being renovated and will have a pool. Give this location 3 months and it’ll be better.

Hotel is new to the point of being able to smell the paint. Even with a power outage staff was excellent and calm. We played pool while we waited to check in. Everything was clean but lacked the fresh smell of being clean. Probably the products they use…Two things that could have been better having a microwave in room and an A/C unit that wasn’t so damn loud! Wish the pool/patio was available it’s going to be lovely once completed.

Property was recently opened so everything was in good condition and clean. It can be a bit pricey considering it’s not super close to downtown or the beach. The room was clean but small, just a mini fridge with no freezer, and no in-room microwave or coffee maker. TV only has access to cable, Netflix and YouTube, no other major streaming services (dumb!) Parking is very limited, and that was with only half the property open. Pool and bar are shared with the adjoining Lela hotel; it was not open yet but looks like it’ll be very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast spread with pancake bar, hot items and breads.

Hotel was still under construction so most amenities were not able to be used. The pool and patio beautiful but not open. I would not have booked if I had known it was still under construction but I paid the regular rate like the hotel was fully usable.

The property itself and room were nice. The amenities included a pool, but the pole was not complete. This would’ve made me not stay there if I would’ve known that the pole was not open other than that the property was nice.

Roy at the front desk was great. All the staff was extremely helpful. The pool and patio area was not open yet. The breakfast was very good and the beds are very comfortable. I will come back and stay there.

Staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast options were good and cleanliness of hotel great. Comfortable beds and linens. Liked that it was dog friendly. Disappointing that there was no useful outdoor space. Also advertised as having pool and restaurant which was one of my main reasons for picking hotel. Neither availability. Although I’m a Hilton fan, I would have chosen another hotel had I know there was no pool. These that change should be verified on sites booking for hotels and info correct.

Property was just opened and we booked this hotel for a pool and the pool won’t be finished for months. Room was extremely small

First time staying at a Tru. The brand has a good casual vibe. They appear to vlbe rebuilding an older property and the patio and pool were closed. They gym is ok, but... one wall is a huge window directly to the parking lot
Beds were super hard

The staff charged me twice for the same night, and after multiple calls they have still not addressed my case to give me a refund.

We booked one room through here and another on our own because when we called the front desk staff wouldn't allow another room to be booked through Expedia. (Even though the website was CHEAPER THAN EXPEDIA!) After check-in and lots of confusion with what was already paid for etc. we arrived to one room that smelled HORRIBLE of cigarette smoke, but was clearly marked nonsmoking. We asked for another and was given a disgusting room with no water to even take a shower, lots of random bugs, no smoke detector, an air conditioner that sounded like it was on its last leg. One room had a fridge the other didnt. Not to mention, 2 doors down, the hallway was labeled asbestos removal! The floor was torn up, it looked like a dungeon and was quite alarming! Thankfully we only needed this room for a few hours to be able to run a half marathon. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Stayed for a wedding I was attending nearby, worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. First night I had no working toilet with no bathroom available in the lobby, my comforter had 3 torn holes in it, no lounge chair, no desk chair, no iron as it was supposed to have next morning they were supposed to send maintenance guy to fix hadn’t shown up. I had to get ready for wedding went to check out a day early they then offered to switch rooms. Went to new room chairs were included this time but had a huge hole in the wall. The restaurant they advertise having is no longer there because of “renovations” but looks like it’s been shut down for a long time the sign out front for it is torn down. Stay far away from this place don’t make the same mistake I did. They also have signs posted that you must empty your own trash can or be charged $25. Moldy bathroom & lampshades, no vending machines or anything only thing offered was old coffee full of grounds. “Free WiFi” didn’t even reach my room. I’m not sure how they get away with charging people to stay here. Worst $200 I’ve ever spent.

Well we stayed for 5 days. The first room we had had fire ants so our room got changed. Then we had roaches. The room was not very clean. I will never stay there again. The staff was friendly is the only positive.

One of the worst hotel experiences ever. Spent 4 hours trying to resolve problems and ended up checking out early. Wifi wouldn't work unless you pay $$$. Several cockroaches in the room. Leaks in bathroom, toilet didn't flush right, light switch that didn't work right. Signs say you have to take out your own trash? Never seen that at a hotel before. Pool and continental breakfast were closed due to renovations, which I can understand given there was a major hurricane several months back.
