This was such a unique stay! We weren’t sure what we would find in south salem, but this home was perfect for our long weekend visiting family. It was a little warm outside, so we were a little nervous how comfortable we would be in this historic home; but the hosts prepared ACs for all the bedrooms and living spaces - amazing! The exterior of the property is well lit and spacious, so our dogs were happy. We even saw some deer. The home was stocked with all the basics (the coffee was great!) and overall very cozy. I wish we had time for the lake, but hopefully we will be back in the future!

The house was very comfortable, extremely clean and extremely well organized. Dan, my host, was easy to communicate with and prompt with his responses.
I would highly recommend this home, but then it might be booked next time I wish to stay.

We had our daughter’s wedding in the area and needed somewhere for our famiily to stay. The house has alot of charm and is definetly an old house and best for adults. There are definetly 4 bedrooms as described in the house description with accesa to a beach/lake. This was a perfect location for us and a space we could relax between events

What a fantastic stay! A wonderful home with rustic old world charm surrounded by nature, it was quiet/peaceful yet close enough to everything you would need. Immediately upon entering the home the space was so comfortable and inviting!!! The host was amazing in providing clear and concise information for checking in, house rules and what was available in the surrounding area. The communication and responses were immediate. I would recommend this property and would DEFINITELY stay here again.

So much character in this home! A lot of room to spread out. Comfy beds too!

Upon arrival late Friday afternoon for a 2 night stay, we were confronted with a snow and ice covered stone walkway that was not adequately cleared from a snowfall that occurred 2 days prior. This presented a very dangerous situation since it was a lengthy ( about 100+ foot long ) uneven stone walkway. During our booking process property manager was emailed that we were traveling for a wedding with a 91 year old and an infant. Overnight another snowfall occurred. On Saturday morning, texted property manager inquiring about a snow shovel. Informed that rental had no shovel but there was a store 5 minutes away if I wanted to buy a shovel and would be reimbursed. It is the owners responsibility to provide safe access and egress to their property.

We came up to the area to visit family for the weekend and this house was absolutely perfect for our family. Old house but very charming and extremely clean and well kept. Already recommended to family and will definitely stay here again when we visit. Usually very difficult to find a place with our two young boys but this house was extremely spacious and had that rustic vibe with modern upgrades.

We had our family Christmas at the house, adults & a 5 year old & 2 year old. The house is a mix of modern & very old and worked very well for us with enough space for games and quiet coloring.

Wonderful property with plenty of historic charm and quirks. All the modern conveniences necessary for me and my husband to work remote while also hosting a few family friends for a reunion.

This house is rustic but has all the modern amenities, with 4 true bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. It suited our family nicely. The house has the most ingenious storage nooks and crannies and a "historic" feel, but no cobwebs. It is very well-situated near a lake and 2 minutes from a small diner / store and gas station. We would definitely consider coming back.
