About this house rental
The house has a relaxed vibe, and you will feel you are in the tropics near the ocean. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out, over 3,200 sf in the house with open common spaces, and over 2/3 acres of beautiful grounds. It has AC in each bedroom, a large pool, huge porch, hammocks, beautiful gardens with tropical fruit and flowers, wildlife, hi-speed fiber wi-fi, tv, washer and dryer, and a very well-equipped kitchen. There is a full-time caretaker, who will take good care of you during your visit. It is a truly unique place, even in Costa Rica.
Casa Coral is three-minute walk to Playa Carrillo, which is a gem of a beach. It is a 2-mile crescent, with soft sand ringed by shady palm and tropical almond trees. There is no development on the beach, just shaved ice and coconut water available from pushcarts. It has a blue flag award for cleanliness. There is plenty of space to spread out. You can find waves suitable for children or adults, depending on the part of the beach you use, and the tides. We supply beach towels and small portable chairs. Or you can rent a shade tent and lounge chair. Sunsets over the Pacific Ocean are magnificent.
Puerto Carrillo has a small-town feel. You will not have crowds or traffic, but everything you need is available. There are eight restaurants within a short walk of the house, as well as a supermarket/general store and liquor store. There are fishing, boating, horseback riding, hiking, zip-lining, atv rides and other tours available nearby. Samara, with surf schools, yoga, more restaurants, banks, nightlife and shopping, is ten minutes away. The roads to Carrillo are excellent. It is about two hours from Liberia and four hours plus from San Jose. If you want to get off the main roads, perhaps to explore nearby beaches like Barrigona, Nosara or Camaronal, or go to the scarlet macaw sanctuary, then you should rent 4WD.
There is a full-time caretaker on the premises, Mauricio, who lives in a separate apartment. He cleans the outdoor areas daily, keeps the gardens beautiful, and is very helpful in many ways. He will welcome you with flower bouquets from our gardens, and a tropical fruit basket. You will be a little spoiled. Recent plantings include mango, papaya, dragon fruit, limes, oranges, banana, plantain, fig, herbs, bougainvillea, heliconia (bird of paradise), flowering ginger, jasmine and and other flowers. There are mature guanacaste, mango, pochote, avocado and palm trees.
At Casa Coral, there is a partial ocean view from the porch and garden, filtered through magnificent guanacaste trees. You can hear the waves. After dark the pool and porch can remain lit for your enjoyment. If you turn off the lights, the stars are brilliant. You can relax on the shady porch or in the hammocks or pool, surrounded by the tropical garden. The property is regularly visited by wildlife, including howler monkeys, scarlet macaws and other tropical birds, iguanas, etc. It is bordered on the south side by a small stream in a protected area, and it is elevated and set back from the street. Included extras are tripod-mounted spotting scope to view the wildlife, pool noodles, an outdoors shower next to the pool, and cable tv.

Carrillo is a very chill town with a beautiful beach. The restaurants close by offer great meals with many options. The house worked out really well for our 2 families. Nice common areas to hang out and new ACs in all the bedrooms. We were very happy with our stay and would definitely consider it again.
