About this house rental
Located 25 minutes east of midtown Atlanta & 30 minutes from the airport, escape to a place of sanctuary & peace at our African Oasis Retreat! This home was specially designed to cater to your comfort & creativity with features that range from a beautiful pool, to a massive chef’s kitchen & three African vacation destination-themed bedrooms. Karibu!
The space
Hidden from the main road, a lengthy driveway will whisk you away to the African Oasis Retreat. This estate has a massive yard with dogwood trees, flower bushes, apple trees, pear trees and even muscadine vines. When ripened, help yourself!
Take the rock pathway to the front door steps and be greeted by a front porch, complete with swing for two and an Adirondack rocking chair. Have a seat and you may notice a red cardinal or butterflies living their best lives. Use your personalized security code to unlock the front door.
When you enter the front door, you are met with Moroccan tile steps and breathtaking Nigerian artwork in the foyer. Watch your step to the left, as the living room is sunken, but full of enjoyment! Check out the bookshelf for a plethora of inspiring reads, bring out your competitive side & play a few games at the table, put a record on the record player or lounge on the stylish couches & watch a show or movie on the 65in smart TV. While fireplace isn’t available for use, what a beauty!
Down the hall to the right is the only bedroom on the main floor and the stairs to the basement.
The next door in the hallway leads to the powder room. Freshen up and get back to the fun & relaxation!
At the end of the hallway is the massive, fully stocked kitchen. The dining table seats 6 and the kitchen island seats an additional 4. We offer ground coffees & loose leaf teas from all over Africa, including a tea pot, singing kettle & French press. We provide pots, pans, utensils, standard kitchen appliances & even a few extra seasonings for your use. There are ceramic plates, saucers, mugs & bowls as well as water glasses & wine glasses for indoor use only. We have plastic cups, plates & bowls for casual & outdoor use.
There are French doors in both the kitchen and living room that lead to the screened-in porch, complete with a ceiling fan, cozy couches and a trendy egg swing.
Through the screened-in porch’s screen door, as well as the second set of French doors in the kitchen, you will find the rest of the outdoor oasis. The deck has an outdoor bed for two and a gas grill. Down the steps you will find a huge pool. This pool does have a 8ft deep end, so please proceed with caution! Lounge in one of the pool chairs or jump right in from early May-late September!
Each bedroom is themed with a specific African vacation destination and all come equipped with some of the most heavenly mattresses:
The bedroom on the main floor is hunter green and themed after the Kruger National Park in South Africa. It features under-bed lighting that can change colors, a grass wall, a plush loveseat, a 55in smart TV and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Upstairs to the right is the Ancient Egypt room, taking you back in time hundreds of years BC, yet including the 21st century creature comforts we’re accustomed to. This room has a Queen-sized bed and a TV equipped with a fire stick. In the closet you will also find 2 Twin folding beds that can be placed anywhere in the house for the 7th and 8th guests, if applicable.
Upstairs to the left is the Zanzibar room, nodding to the breathtaking beaches in Tanzania. This room has 2 Twin XL beds that can be converted into a King bed upon request. There is a TV with a fire stick as well.
In between the upstairs bedrooms is a full bathroom with a steamy shower/tub combo. The linen closet is also in this bathroom.
Karibu means “welcome” in Swahili. Welcome to paradise!

We stayed for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. Tiara's place is exactly as described. Everything is decorated so beautifully. The pool was a little chilly but it helped cool us off in the Atlanta heat! The kitchen was definitely our main gathering place and wow is it gorgeous! Location was great and just off the street to allow some privacy. We loved staying! Would highly recommend!
