About this chalet rental

Beautiful custom built lakeside cabin completed in the spring of 2023.

Built by the owner John, The Sheehan Lakehouse is located in Mountain Lakes New Hampshire at the base of the white mountains. The cabin was constructed to suit and enhance its beautiful surroundings and features big windows and a back deck overlooking a splendid vista of the lake. The interior is full of precision woodworking, artisanal craftsmanship & custom accents.

This property is great for anyone who loves pond recreation and nature. The back yard is landscaped for ease of access and includes a firepit, a fully equipped shed and a private dock leading out into the waterfront. Mountain Lake is an excellent place for fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming in the summer. You are not required to have a fishing license to fish at Mountain Lake! Guests may also access the Mountain Lakes District Beach, swimming pool and playground down the street.

Close to multiple ski areas within 30 minutes. Gas fireplace on upper deck, Wireless internet, cable tv, washer & dryer. Parking for 2 vehicles.15 minutes away from all amenities; gas, grocery store, restaurants etc.

Our family had an amazing time at the cabin. Everything was just perfect! The lake, the mountain views and the overall coziness of the cabin was great. We took advantage of all that was offered and the surrounding area. Communication was also excellent. We hope to get back. Thank you!!!

Our family of 5, including children ages 3, 5, and 7, loved our stay here! This was a cozy, clean home that offered the chance to relax, try new things (like fishing), cook family meals, and still travel to nearby favorite destinations such as Santa's Village, Littleton, Mt Cannon, and Polly's Pancakes in Sugar Hill. Given the house layout (open loft with stairs), I recommend this for families with slightly older children, or just be ready to keep a careful eye on the kids. It wasn't a problem for us, but a consideration for other families. Between the quality of the home, John's quick and attentive communication, and the location, I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway.

We have stayed in several VRBO properties and this one was in the top 2. It was a great location for what we wanted to do in the area and enough to keep us occupied at the house. It was very clean, cute decorations, great layout for a family of 4, the lake was wonderful for fishing and the campfire was perfect for cooking dinner one night. We would stay here again and recommend to others.

We really enjoyed the chalet, super clean and very new. The lake is so peaceful and beautiful, we spent so much time on the balcony with the kiddos looking at the water. Wish the weather cooperated a bit more so we could enjoy the fire pit area but it was still really nice. I’d recommend this place as a quiet retreat or as an option during the ski season for sure. Thanks for having us!

Perfectly cozy and comfortable chalet. Meticulously kept, and designed with bits of whimsy on the walls. The Sheehan family must be lovely people. Morning coffee out on the deck was so serene and relaxing.......just what we needed. So thank you Sheehans for providing us with such a wonder fun place to rest and relax while viewing the solar eclipse. I'll never forget how much fun we had there, and would love to go back again someday when the weather is warm enough to swim. Most sincerely, Pam

I wanted to celebrate my 50th birthday with my spouse, 2 toddlers and mother in law in a quiet setting with the comforts of home. This chalet is EXACTLY that! It was very clean and had everything we needed! It was rather cold but the heat kept us very warm. We didn't even need the pellet stove. This place is completely charming with STUNNING views. The lake was frozen but still made for a gorgeous backdrop under the moonlight. The location of the home was secluded enough to get the peace and quiet I wanted while still being close enough to civilization. WalMart and Shaws were less than 5 minutes away. Communication with property owner was extremely easy and very pleasant. My entire family HIGHLY recommends this rental. I can only imagine what its like in the summer! We will come back and find out!

Had an incredible week at John’s cabin. The house, property and area were amazing. The house had everything we could want and was so clean. Loved the outdoor fireplace and serenity of the lake. We didn’t venture far but when we did, we had easy access to Maine and Vermont as well. We highly recommend this property for a romantic getaway or family vacation. Thanks for everything John, we’ll be back!

Great location, quiet, on Mountain Lake. Easy to take day trips around Vermont and New Hampshire. Lovely cabin, and especially loved the fireplace on the deck overlooking the lake....great property!

The chalet is very clean and organized. The beds are very comfortable and the view is spectacular. We had a very relaxing week and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the lakeside. Fishing was good and we enjoyed the kayaks. We would definitely come back

We really enjoyed the log cabin , lake kayak, paddle boat , fishing gear and fire pit Also a Walmart and grocery store is only 10 Minutes away. So much better than a hotel at a fair price.

First, the cabin is beautiful you can see a lot of details on the walls, floors, stairs, doors, bathroom, kitchen cabinet, balcony, patio, and windows. John's Cabin offers everything from towels, Kitchen, and internet. I was able to work from there. He offers Kayak and a pedal boat with lifesavers and a BBQ grill. My family and I had a wonderful summertime. Also, everything was super clean. We really enjoy our holiday vacation. Ready to plan our next holiday in John's Cabin.
