When you want to hang with friends or family at the beach, but know you’ll all want more privacy than a big house allows, book a stay at King Crab Retreat, a collection of 4 cottages steps from the ocean at Rockaway Beach. These exquisite homes have been fully renewed with skillful updates that elevate their beauty and comfort. Each cottage has a private entrance while located close together, and best of all, they are all less than half a block to miles of level sandy beach and views of the offshore Twin Rocks. Each has new flooring, beautiful wood ceilings, contemporary furnishings, Smart TVs in the living area and each bedroom, fully updated baths and full or partial kitchens. You’ll have the privacy of your own home, but also lots of outdoor space to hang out together, including four picnic tables and a couple of decks. You’ll have seven bedrooms total, each cottage with two queen bedrooms (in King Tide, Ocean Break and Driftwood), except for the single king bedroom in Beach Bliss.
Rockaway Beach is a fantastic, relaxing, low-key place to enjoy time with friends or stage a family reunion. Beachcomb to your heart’s content, try crabbing from the jetty, do some freshwater fishing on Lake Lytle, or just soak in the sun, wind and sky. A trip into town will reward you with whimsical shopping and delicious dining. The Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad travels along the coast from Rockaway Beach to Garibaldi with open-air cars drawn by a steam engine, a unique and delightful way to see this rugged stretch of coastline.
