We were up there for a fishing trip and the house worked great for us.

The location of the property is spectacular. It’s literally a stone’s throw away from the tranquil beach and glittering harbor of Rocky Nook. The process was seamless and the owners were very responsive to last minute questions. The only room for improvement would be in the furniture / bedding department, but it’s a beach house so after a long day at the beach it’s what’s expected. All-in-all a great find.

It was amazing stay and very friendly neighborhood. We met many families and learnt more about the changes that have happened over years to the neighborhood. It felt like Home

The rental is a time worn 1934 New England home. The fact that it has 3/4 walls and one shared ceiling for the whole upstairs takes a little getting used to.The decor is austere in its simplicity. The house looks just as pictured in rental listing and was clean and tidy.Internet/cell service is a bit spotty but my son was able to connect his Xbox to the internet and tv. It has gas heat so beware the water gets HOT.The house suited our basic needs as we were up from PA visiting my oldest son who lives nearby. If you are looking for spartan accommodations with a lovely view of the bay and rocky beach or some peace and quiet this is for you. The front porch is a great spot for dog watching as you'll see many on their daily walks Also, just a heads up there are no curtains If you're big on privacy. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Clara's Retreat.

I’m very impressed with Jim and Jessica as hosts. Whatever questions we had were answered immediately. There was one time I texted them and I swear Jim called me back before I hit send. I’m only half joking there, it was a pretty instantaneous. There was a time I contacted them because the previous guest had left bubblegum in the dryer (not nice!) and I was having trouble removing it. I texted them while we were out and Jessica showed up and scrubbed it clean before we got back, as they didn’t want that to be the guests’ responsibility. We know the house is old and a new property for them, they just started managing it a month or so before my family rented it, so they hadn’t had time to update it (which Jim tells me is happening over this coming winter), but we enjoyed the old charm and had fun staying there. We really enjoyed sitting on the front deck at night, facing the water. That view and the sounds of the water erased all the stress from work and life back home. The area is very quiet at night, great for families. The beach, which is the bay side, is perfect for small children. As our child is a teenager now (😱), we drove to another beach for the waves. You would do well to drive in to Plymouth. There’s a recreation of the mayflower, which is very impressive, of course Plymouth Rock, and be sure to book an afternoon on a whale watching boat ride —the one we went on found a pod, which was amazing to watch. I look forward to booking another trip with Jim and Jessica, they really are great hosts.

We stayed at the house for a week in July/August. The location is wonderful, right across from a private beach. The neighborhood was quiet. Close to downtown Plymouth, restaurants and stores. Walking distance to Grays beach. Property manager had great communication before and during the stay, answering any questions that came up.
