About this cottage rental
The Bay Stay, situated on a large waterfront property, looks straight up beautiful Burridge lake. With a large dock, a beautiful bonfire pit, and a floating dock, we provide you with a world of day-time and night-time fun and activities. Your days will be spent on the dock looking up the lake and paddling out to your floating dock for a refreshing swim. No swimming off the main dock. Burridge Lake also has great fishing and is boater friendly so bring your rods! The newly renovated cottage features 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, and full kitchen. The Bay Stay is also an off-grid experience, meaning all of your necessities are taken care of either by the rooftop solar panels or propane! With all of these features, The Bay Stay is the perfect place to kick back, unplug, and enjoy nature.
The Bay Stay is an off-grid experience with solar powered electricity. Being mindful of power usage throughout the day can help reduce the risk of running out. Propane is used to heat your water on-demand, a full stove is also run off propane. Water is pumped from the lake which is perfect for showering in your full bathroom or doing dishes in the sink. Bring your own drinking water. And FYI off-grid means NO internet!

We had a very successful get away at Bay Stay. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards, and swim dock. The cottage was very tidy and we had no issues with running out of power. Recommend staying here.

My girlfriend and I, as well as my dog spent the weekend at the Bay Stay, and even with some rain had an incredible visit. The cabin is very well stocked and prepared, and talk about spotless! We had a small welcoming basket waiting, firewood and tons of watersports equipment to enjoy during the stay. The host was attentive to messages, and the off-grid portion was not a hiccup or challenge whatsoever. The french press made great coffee, and the kitchen was well stocked with all cooking utensils. And the reviews claiming the "massive and steep hill" are only fractionally accurate, as it is steep but is maybe 50 yards long and not a challenge for the average person. We plan to come back again, do not hesitate to book!!

We enjoyed every single detail of this gorgeous cottage! I found it well-stocked; coffee, tea, ice, bottled water, right down to aluminum foil, saran wrap, and spices for cooking! It was immaculate, and cozy. We loved the "off-grid" experience, and exploring the beautiful area. Highly recommend!

Our first off grid long weekend was absolutely beautiful! The cottage is cozy with fabulous amenities. The towels soft and fluffy, beds comfy, a wonderful greeting basket complete with a bottle of red! Even the fire pit was stocked! No problem with the fridge and we bought a camp stove toaster to make toast on the propane stove which we left for future guests. I used my hair dryer with no issue and never ran out of power.
The description was spot on as well as the photos. The weekend did not disappoint at all!
Hint, we brought battery operated lamps and votives which lit up the cottage at night giving a lovely ambiance. My cell phone provided music that I had downloaded while playing cards. The stars at night are incredible with no light pollution from towns or other cottages.
Beautiful little cottage to get away from it all!

We had the pleasure of staying at The Bay Stay cottage, and it was an absolute delight. For all you nature and luxury enthusiasts out there, this cottage is a must-visit destination.
Everything described in the listing was not only accurate but exceeded our expectations. The cottage was immaculately clean, and every detail had been thoughtfully considered. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy for us to prepare our own meals and enjoy them on the lovely patio with a view of the lake.
One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional level of privacy the cottage offered. It truly felt like our own little haven away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
We must extend our gratitude to Tyson and Katie, the wonderful hosts of The Bay Stay cottage. They gave us a warm and friendly welcome, making us feel like old friends. The complimentary basket of goodies waiting for us upon arrival was a lovely touch and greatly appreciated.
We wholeheartedly recommend The Bay Stay cottage to anyone seeking a great getaway experience and exceptional service. Tyson and Katie's dedication to making our stay memorable was evident in every aspect, and we can't thank them enough for their hospitality. Whether you're looking for a romantic retreat or a peaceful escape into nature, this cottage has it all.

We had a wonderful stay. The boys had a blast fishing, frog hunting and swimming. Lots of great memories. We like it uses solar power and we were cautious when using power.

We had a great weekend stay here, the hosts were very generous and helpful. They met us to show us around the property so we would know the ins and outs of being off grid. Would definitely stay again!

We had booked 9 days at this cottage but left within 24 hours.
When we first let them know we were leaving and why and why the owner had mentioned a refund but then reneged later the same day. When emailed later that week to ask for any type of compensation, they did not respond.
The water is not for swimming, the bottom is over a foot of muck and the deeper areas are full of weeds.
The solar power is not efficient for the size of fridge on the property, we didn't use any lights and only used one fan for a short time and the power went out, all our food went bad.
The ad says to be conservative with the use of power but you actually can't use it at all.
There is no grass area (no yard) so with no swimming, no power, no cell service l, and no yard, there is absolutely nothing to do here.
Also the parking is up a steep hill so expect to bring your luggage up and down a long way.
Also you cannot lock the door from the outside so if you plan to leave your things are not protected.
Horrible experience.
Also cell service will cut out before you arrive so make sure you know how to get there or you will get lost.

We were lucky to be the first renters and the cabin is just like the photos, very well appointed, immaculate and cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed, fridge, stove, oven and was stocked with essentials like foil, spices and coffee/tea. We enjoyed the secluded location and it was quiet throughout the Canada Day long weekend. The solar power never gave out although we were conservative with our usage. Appreciated the use of the stand up paddle boards, wish you could swim directly off the beach but it was too mucky. There is a swimming raft you could paddle/kayak to. Westport was a nice town a short drive away for supplies and to poke around in the shops. Owners were quick to reply to questions and friendly/helpful. Important to note we had no cell service while there, couldn’t get a signal unless we drove about 20 mins out. This didn’t bother us at all but others might want to be more connected.
