About this house rental
Enveloped within 13-acres of serene landscape, this sustainable haven is your own private 3-acre lake with boat dock, pedal boats and canoe, private 300-yard golf driving range, private forest with 3,000 feet of walking trails, floor-to-ceiling library of 1,000 books, expansive views of mountains, and much more. The lake has bass and catfish.
A sublime setting for weddings, birthdays, and corporate retreats -- the Lake Estate invites you to indulge in eco-luxury. The photos will look amazing.
These elegant, peaceful grounds are a perfect site to simply reconnect with nature or hold memorable large gatherings and events. The Lake Estate has hosted many weddings and receptions, holiday retreats, other special occasions. It’s our pleasure to accommodate you for special requests and pricing for day-use only rentals, event planning services, and more.
The Lake Estate sits on an expansive landscape of 13 tranquil acres that serves as your very own private oasis. Rolling hills, 7 acres of well-manicured lawns, garden areas, and forest for exploration. The Lake Estate is directly adjacent and connected to Paulinskill Nature Reserve (a 200-acres park owned by the government and open for seasonal hunting). The estate is home to all sorts of animals (rabbits, owls, woodpeckers, geese, ducks, red-eared and snapping turtles, bass and catfishes, foxes, opossums, etc). Frequently, deers and black bears will pass through the Lake Estate. Fishing and swimming are allowed in the lake.
The stately Manor House sits on a hill, offering sweeping views of the property and is designed to harmoniously match the outdoor grandeur. Tall ceilings with skylights, a grand entry foyer, a private library and two spacious living rooms let you unwind in comfort. A large dining room and multiple kitchen seating areas provide plenty of room for everyone to gather. A front patio and oversized back porch deck mean you’re just a step away from relishing the outdoors. A 6-grill BBQ and outdoor fire pit are always ready.
The estate has 6 bedrooms and 14 beds in assorted sizes... including a master "bridal suite" with king bed and in-room relaxing sofas. There is a kids' room that's perfect for families with children. A third bedroom also includes a king bed with in-room sofa and loveseat. A fourth bedroom includes a queen bed and small area for sitting. A fifth bedroom has two double beds with ottoman — all with plenty of space to relax and unwind. A sixth bedroom on the first floor is ideal for anyone who don't like climbing stairs.
We take pride in providing a sustainable-living vacation at its finest, with all utilities generated on-site. The Lake Estate has the tallest wind turbine in Sussex County. There are two solar systems and an aerated aquifer providing triple filtered clean water. We’re also home to a brood of chickens located on the property, a nod to the extensive farming heritage in the local community.

Overall our time spent at this home was great! It was the perfect place for all of our friends to meet up for labor day weekend and reconnect after some of us have moved away.
The pond wasn't very swimmable - the water plants were so tall they were touching the surface/just beneath the surface from the bottom of the pond and it was quite shallow. Was fine for us to float on but again, not really swimmable.
The home owner was quick to respond when the front door automatic lock wasnt working and we werent able to access the property which we were grateful for!

We booked this space as we were having a wedding nearby and it was perfect! We had a blast fishing in the lake, playing golf, and grilling on the patio!
The rooster was a little aggressive when going to feed the chickens, but besides that, the place had absolutely everything! We did wish there were a little more bathrooms given the space hosts 16 guests, but we made it work. Overall, it was really fun staying here!

The cleanliness of the space was impeccable, offering a refreshing start to our stay. With an ample number of beds, our team found comfortable accommodations, ensuring everyone rested well throughout our time together.
The spacious layout allowed for productive meetings and relaxed gatherings, complemented by seamless communication with the hosts. However, our excitement for fresh eggs was dashed by an overly protective rooster, resulting in an unexpected encounter. While it added a memorable anecdote, it was a missed opportunity for a farm-fresh breakfast.
Despite the rain dampening our plans to explore the grounds and enjoy kayaking or canoeing, the property's natural beauty still shone through. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle, it provided a serene backdrop for our retreat, offering a sense of escape without sacrificing convenience to nearby shops.
In summary, our experience at the property was largely positive, marred only by a few minor setbacks. With potential for further enhancement on rainy days experience activities and perhaps a more cooperative rooster, it remains a desirable destination for future gatherings.
