The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

We loved this cottage. Tastefully decorated, well equipped, right in the heart of stow, evening sun trap.

We found the house very welcoming, well appointed and clean as a whistle. It was a very comfortable environment, the beds were comfy, two full bathrooms, clothes washer and dish washer. Our only complaint was the sofa, which was not very comfortable. It is also in a great location! Just a two minute walk to so much! The village is full of cute shops, nice eateries and tea shops, plus all the essentials and best bakeries!

We enjoyed our week at Masters House. The location was very convenient for shops, cafes and restaurants. Beds were comfortable and the house was cool and quiet despite being on a busy street.
A few small niggles: more mugs would be useful, the fridge door bottom shelf is not strong enough for large milk or wine bottles and kitchen knives are not very sharp.

Our stay at Masters House was fantastic. The cottage's perfect location in the heart of Stow on the Wold made it ideal for exploring the Cotswolds. It had everything we needed and was very cozy. Parking was a bit tricky, but we managed to find a spot on the same street each day. With supermarkets, shops, and restaurants just a short walk away, the convenience was excellent. Stow on the Wold is a wonderful town, and this cottage made our visit truly enjoyable. Highly recommended!

This is our 2nd time using StayCotswold. This house was lovely, clean and cosy.
Location was perfect to pop in to Stow market square quickly.
Road can be a bit loud outside one of the bedrooms but easy to adapt to

This was a great home, close to everything in Stow and a great base for exploring the Cotswolds. The property has everything you need for an extended stay. Communication with the property manger was excellent.

House was right in the middle of town. The decorations were lovely and the kitchen was well appointed. Our only note is that the living area is very small, however there is a large dining room where you can hang out with your group instead.

It was the second time we stayed at this cottage in 2023. It’s close to great shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants.
When we walked in, there were cobwebs by the front window and quite a few bedside and coffee tables were dusty so not sure if the last clean was a few weeks before we arrived or if the cottage was empty for a while.
There was a lot of rain over the Christmas period and the roof was leaking in bedroom 2. Two nights in a row the top of the bed was soaked.
Prior to our stay, we asked for fresh towels. Even though there was ‘fresh’ linen / towels in a drawer in the hallway upstairs they smelt old.
As there’s no on-site parking it’s tricky to unload and reload your belongings. So before 10am, the neighbours next door complained about our car being outside for too long and expressed the fact that there were traffic wardens walking up and down the street when there wasn’t. The neighbours were trying to scare us because they got fed up of our car being outside.
We love staying in Stow, but next time we’ll stay in a different cottage.

Overall, we had a really great stay at Master's house. We had a lot of positive things to point out, but also a few minor issues that I would like to mention.
Positive:
- Beautifully decorated and very cozy cottage. It was everything you need for cooking and housing 4 people. We even had fresh bread, butter and milk in the fridge when we arrived.
- Location is close to shops and pubs
- Very easy check in and check out
Negative
- One of the towels had a very big dirty stain when we arrived. I think it must have fallen into dirt before it was placed on our bed.
- The recycle bin was full with bottles from previous guests. We had to put our recycle next to the bin
- There were some long black hairs in the bathtub
- Some of the dishes were still a bit dirty, the dishwasher probably didn't work very well on them.
- The street next to the house is very busy and one of the bedrooms faces that street. I slept well because I used earplugs but for someone else it could be an issue.

The Masters House was exactly as described and as shown in the pictures. Beds were comfortable and as I was on holiday with my sister it was great having 2 bathrooms too (one en suite). The living furniture was as described but the sofa was very close to the floor so not easy getting out of it! Kitchen was well equipped and there was a good selection of crockery and cutlery. The location was ideal for the town with a courtyard leading in to the town just a couple of yards away. On street parking was available most days and when there were no spaces there were plenty of spaces in the town square. It’s quite a busy road and can be quite noisy at the front of the house in the morning and early evening. Good selection of restaurants and takeaways within a short walking distance.

A beautifully decorated cottage with everything we needed. The cottage is very clean and comfortable, with lovely restaurants, cafes and shops close by.

The cottage is a home away from home! Loved the location and interior design of the place. Very appreciated the bread, eggs and tea gesture! We will be back!

Masters house is a lovely cottage right in the middle of the town and was perfect for the two of us .
Everything you needed for a comfortable stay .
Think the lounge is a bit small for 4 people .
Table and chairs in small court yard if you wish to sit out .
More coat hangers needed !
