You'll be able to prepare and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee, a mixed drink or smoothie, or save a few dollars as you prepare a meal in the bright and cheerful fully-equipped eat-in kitchen. You can also enjoy a meal outside on the large patio table or at the picnic table. A comfortable living room invites you to relax while watching cable TV or just sit and read or perhaps enjoy a game or puzzle you’ll find in the cabinet. Step outside the front door onto the comfortable covered porch where you can sit and chat while admiring the flowers and watching for hummingbirds. The back yard is situated on the beautiful Shining Sea Bike Trail. From here it’s just a short walk or bike ride to downtown Falmouth where you’ll find lots of restaurants, gift shops, art galleries, a library, a bakery, ice cream shop, even a spa. You’ll find many beautiful old homes in this downtown village, including the birthplace of Katharine Lee Bates who penned the words to America the Beautiful based on her memories of this area – hence the name “Shining Sea” bike trail. Surf Drive, where the famous Falmouth Road Race takes place each August, is also a short walk or bike ride away. Here you will be amazed at the beautiful wide-open ocean glistening in the sun dotted with beachgoers, bike riders, joggers and the like. You can also look out over the water and see Martha’s Vineyard across the Vineyard Sound. You won’t want to miss spending some time in the bustling little village of Woods Hole, just 3 miles away by bike or by car, and famous for the Oceanographic Institute. It was a scientist from the Institute who discovered the wreckage of the Titanic back in 1985 and this same scientist went aboard the also famous mini submersible, Alvin, a year later, to survey the wreckage – the first time anyone had seen the Titanic since it sank in 1912. Bring the kids to the aquarium where they can explore and touch real sea life! From Woods Hole, which is also filled with great restaurants, shops, and museums, you can board a ferry to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket Island and explore even more of Cape Cod’s endless charm. While in Woods Hole, you won’t want to miss the picturesque cliff-side Nobska lighthouse, overlooking stunning ocean scenery. Be sure to pause and capture this beauty on camera. While the ferry boats in Woods Hole can accommodate motor vehicles, you also have the option of a more intimate ride to the island aboard the much smaller Island Queen, located in a different part of Falmouth, and on which you may take a bicycle but no motor vehicle.
Some of the most beautiful beaches are found in Falmouth, including Woodneck, a family favorite, located in Falmouth’s Sippewissett village. This beach, with its soft sand for castle-building, is ideal for younger children because of the way the tide and current goes out in one section leaving shallow areas for little ones to play in the water or catch hermit crabs. (You won’t want to forget a net for this.) As evening approaches, this is also one of the best spots from which to catch a spectacular sunset over the water!
This is just a very small sampling of the many things there are to see and do in and around Falmouth. After returning from your day’s adventures, barbecue a meal on the gas grill and enjoy with your family on the lighted patio or relax with a drink on the covered swing as you plan your itinerary for the upcoming days. You’ll love the many birds, the bunnies that scatter around throughout the yard, the lighting, flowers, and the peace and tranquility this home offers in the midst of the hubbub of a busy little Cape Cod town! We’ve created a “home away from home” for you where everything is just right – not too big, not too small, but just right! Come and see why we love it here so much!

Great place, great location! Easy, 10 minute walk to downtown Falmouth. The bike path connects right to the back yard which was super convenient for me because I used it every day.

This place is well equipped and Robin did a terrific explanation of how to optimize the experience. Being on the bike path was better than we could imagine. Road every day. The beach is only minutes away. There are two outside tables for dining, but the glider was by far the primary choice.

My family and I had a fun week in Falmouth. Bike riding/ walking the trail right in our backyard, beautiful beaches, fun evenings in the village, relaxing on the patio out back. All made for a vacation that was perfect.
Hostess was friendly and very accommodating. I would recommend this property to my friends.
